How to Make Nightstands with CPAP Storage and Secret drawer

- These nightstands have been an idea in my head for almost a year. I finally got to the creation of this nightstand when I started the makeover of the primary bedroom in our home! My husband has had a CPAP machine for years and I had the idea to find a way to hide it in a cubby that allowed the tubest to come out the back. This design allows for air circulation as the top slides open when the CPAP is in use and all then closes up during the day when its not in use.

MATERIALS: 4- 2x2x36 poplar pieces
1- 4x8 sheet 1/2" maple plywood (I normally have the hardware store rip this panel down to 24" strips).
2 -1x2x36" poplar pieces
2 - 1x3x36" poplar pieces
2- 1x6x8 common board
1- 1x8x6 common board
1- 1x3x4 common board
1-1x4x8 common board
1 -1/8" 2x4 luan plywood
1- 1x1x8 trim piece
1-.5"x6x2 poplar piece
1-.5"x8x2 poplar piece
3- .5x2x36" poplar piece
1 2ftx4ft project panel for the top (or plywood)

I LOVE THIS! I didn't know a CPAP nightstand was even a thing. My only drawback is one of my cats will immediately climb in there while I'm sleeping, so when the top is partly open. He's part raccoon, so I know he'll steal anything else in the drawer that he possibly can. Very, very cool though!

This is such a creative solution to hiding the CPAP clutter! Great job - I ❤️ the look and clean design! Have you considered selling these? I don't have the skills to make them myself and have been struggling with finding a solution to keep the bedroom looking good (and not clinical with a CPAP!) so if you will be selling them, please tell me more 😊

Echo the build as well. Not many options / ideas out there for us CPAP users. Got your plans and not into it. ❤
But have a small issue on the spacing for the drawers. The plans reference a distance between the drawer supports of 7.5” and 6.75 which left me with 3” for the cubby. Tried to make the space inclusive of the support pieces - but then it’s too small for the drawer sizes. What am I missing.
High regards for the build abs the free plans. Like abs subscribes. Love Love it. But need a little help if possible.
