    This is the best Celtic Weave tutorial I've found! I was looking at a Celtic Weave hat tutorial, but instead of going around the posts on the ones behind, he goes into the top loops, which is harder. I like yours much better. Thanks!

    I agree with previous posts. This is the BEST tutorial of this stitch. Like many others, I have ripped out my work numerous times, but to no avail was not successful in creating this stitch. Then, I accidentally come upon this video, I was elated!!! Finally someone that can actually convey simply and with ease the mechanics of this beautiful crochet stitch. Bravo!!!

    Hi Thank you for the tutorial its very helpful love the color for teaching too I have been working on a Celtic Weave Ear Flap Hat I found on Ralvery and then All Free Crochet no where does it mention to turn,my work in the round, but there are other tutorials out here or working Celtic Weave in round and turning after slip joining , then working back post s. then turning back at Fposts..My hat has some larger gaps that look really funny at the join, which I think can close better , or see better if turning , its for a toddler soI want its snugly ,am I suppose to be turning when working in round so the join get worked or like you just going round and round Thank YOU :)

    I must ask... is this going to be annoying the first time I try. It looks like it'll be annoying.

      @@Pattern-paradise Just looks like it would be hard to get the stitches in the right spot. I'm still going to try.

    Okay so what size hook are you using? That would be great information to know. Ijs.

    • @Pattern-paradise
      @Pattern-paradise  5 років тому +5

      Since this is a tutorial for a technique and not a specific pattern, the hook and yarn were not as relevant. You could use this technique with any yarn you like and use an appropriate hook for that specific yarn. Usually you can find the hook size recommendation on the yarn label.

    What size hat did you make with the 36 foundation?

  • @sarahcaldwell3576

    I have a lot of extra "webbing" when I do the third and forth stitch no matter how tight my yarn is. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? I wish I could add a picture to show you what I mean but the webbing is 2cm wide for stitch to stitch

    • @sarahcaldwell3576
      @sarahcaldwell3576 9 місяців тому

      I also started with 64 stitches and somehow ended up with 62 by the end. I also only had 3 stitches left instead of 4 at the end.

    I hope you're still reading these. I was wondering how I would start decreases to finish the top of my hat?

      There is a pattern on Ravelry by the name of 'Celtic Dream Beanie" by Charmed by Ewe. You can also find patterns on Pinterest.

    • @Pattern-paradise
      @Pattern-paradise  7 років тому

      There are many ways to achieve the increases and decreases, the simplest would be to crochet two stitches together.

    • @Pattern-paradise
      @Pattern-paradise  6 років тому +1

      It depends on the type of hat. I have a couple in my Ravelry shop if you are still looking.

    You jumped right to the video doing the Hat you didn't tell us what size yarn you didn't tell us what size needle you didn't tell us how many change to use you didn't even start step-by-step you just jumped right into it as well beginners and when starting why would you post a video like that and that show my step by step but I do like to have and I would like to make it but you just jump too fast

      Thank you for watching. I'm sorry this video didn't meet your needs. The video is intended to show the stitch rather than the completion of the project.

      @ Jeanette Duncan
      Hi, the video is not aimed at making a hat. 😃 It is made to show us how to work the Celtic Weave stitch in-the-round; and it does an excellent job! I will use what she taught me and get the yarn I have available and the hook that it calls for to make fingerless gloves. I have seen a photo of a pair I love on Pinterest but couldn't find a pattern! After watching this wonderful video I can make the gloves exactly as I want them, no pattern required. Using the method I will exp!ain below you will be able to look at more photos and figure their pattern all on your own!!
      So At the beginning of the tutorial she gives us the #1 most important formation we need to make any project we like using this stitch, she tells us that the foundation chain is in multiples of FOUR. So in my case with the gloves I will make the amount of stitches I need to comfortably go around the largest part of my hand- then I count the number of stitches...the tricky part is next but it is the only one I promise! The number of stitches needs to be a multiple of four therefore I add 1-3 stitches to the total to make it equal to a 4 multiple. For example, I made 35 foundationless single crochet so I add one more stitch to equal 36 (4*9=36 so it is a multiple of 4!!) now I am ready to make my gloves(for a hat you would crochet till your chain comfortably fits around the head of the person to wear it while using the yarn of your choice and the hook designed to match it, ect. Red Heart Super Saver 4 ply yarn would call for a 5.5mmm or 6.0mmm hook)! I hope I cleared up any questions or helped you to think more independently when making your own patterns from only a photo online and an AWESOME UA-cam tutorial!! Good Luck and God Bless You this July 4th!🌈
