The UK flag is the Union Flag (also called the Union Jack when flown from a ships jackstaff, most people get the names mixed up though..it doesn't actually really matter). @@sierralovesdogs You can tell when the King is in residence as instead of the Union Flag flying from the flagpole the Royal Standard will fly instead.
@@dogsnads5634 meaning the England flag vs. the UK flag, is that right? I'm learning!
@@sierralovesdogs Close...but no cigar. The UK flag is the Union Flag (also called the Union Jack when flown from a ships jackstaff, most people get the names mixed up though..it doesn't actually really matter). Thats the red, white and blue crossed design flag that most people associate with the UK.
The Royal Standard is a far more ornate flag, with a quarter each denoting the constituent nations of the UK. The only time you ever see it is over a palace when the Sovereign is in residence or over Parliament when the Sovereign is visiting as a courtesy.

I really enjoyed your video blog, fun, interesting and picturesque. I'm British and I have never been to half these places myself, including Oxford and Cambridge amazingly. Don't worry about finding somethings here confusing, I'm sure I would too if visiting the states. I would visit San Francisco, ride on the trams up and down the hills, see the Golden Gate bridge, and gaze out in to the pacific. All inspired by the movies to be honest. Hollywood plays a big part in global tourism.

London Bridge was the original cross Thames bridge, it was dismantled and rebuilt in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. In olden days many ferries carried people across the River.
Oxford University has grown over the years from various colleges which specialise in different subjects. It has existed for about a thousand years.
That song was Parklife by Blur. It was released in 1994. The singer, Damon Albarn, is also in the band Gorillaz in case you've heard of them. Also, that station in Windsor is not the entrance to the castle. They're entirely separate. There's even a road between the two!

It's mostly Georgian across the board. When in London the king and queen reside at Clarence House*, a large house on the left of The Mall as you walk towards Admiralty Arch.
King Charles has made it known he's not over keen on moving to Buckingham Palace.
Security at all of the used palaces is in the hands of the army and specialist police units, but the whereabouts of members of the Royal Family are are not secret.
*Clarence House was built for one of the sons of King George III; Prince William, The Duke of Clarence, who reigned as King William IV between 1830 and 1837.
He was known as "the sailor king." The city of Adelaide in Australia was named after his wife.
