I saw Stevie a few months before he died. Before Double Trouble went on stage,There was a different “feeling” than at any other concert, and I’ve been to probably hundreds. I think everyone knew they were going to see something few people get to see, true greatness. Afterwards, I was surprised that everyone was subdued and even not leaving. I realized everyone was blown away. Everyone needed a moment to reflect on what they just saw and heard.
I have to give you a shout out to your amazing guitar playing!

I happened to see Stevie Ray and Double Trouble in 1981 or 1982 before they hit the big time. Had some friends drive down to Nacogdoches to fetch me and my disabled bike so we went to a local bar to check out the college babes. They had a band playing that night that we never heard of before. The cold climate you're in is a stark contrast to that of Oak Cliff, Texas (I've hunted up SRV's childhood home there), where heat and humidity can make for some miserable summer days.
