I own the GX8 and for me it is maybe the most underrated camera on the market. I'm still impressed by this small but super solid model and I will never give it away.
Best Lumix camera ever? LX7 with flawless 24-90mm f1.4 - 2.3 Leica brand lens. ND filter built-in. Really good 1080p video performance with O.I.S. 10MPX multi aspect ratio sensor. Hot shoe with availability to put external EVF. 37mm filter mount (with adapter). And everything with extreme small package. I use this camera even today and make an A4 printouts. There is a lot to love 📸
In 2014 I bought my first Lumix camera GX7. I really loved it. Now this camera is used by my son. From 2018 I moved to G9. It's my favourite Lumix camera.
Fun video content. My first ever camera - at 68 years old was the fz300 bridge. It was an absolute dream to learn on. I now have a g85. It is light, easy to use and does everything I need for a fun hobby. Lumix makes wonderful, usable cameras. I love the ergonomics of my g85 and I tried several other brands before buying..
Good list Matti. I have only used a handful of Lumix, but my favorite is the GF-1. I like it so much I bought two bodies in case one broke, but it never did. Panasonic cameras and lenses are the only system I have used in my 58 years that never needed a repair or service ever. Stay safe.
I dusted off my GF1 recently and I've been loving it's output. Truly was a game changer for me- my first digital camera and I took that thing everywhere... John Muir Trail, all across the Sierras, up Yosemite big walls and it still works like the day I bought it. I scoff at those who claim they need weather sealing...
After years of Minolta film cameras, I got an FZ50. to back it up. a TZ10, an FZ 47 was added later. I then got interested in mirrorless cameras and bought a G2 and a G10 as a backup, these two are my current workhorses, the TZ10 sits in the car glove box for emergencies. I am more than satisfied with these and a few assorted lenses with no desire to upgrade. Thanks for your numerous videos.
i've taken probably several thousand pics with my lumix cameras, starting with the zs3, then the zs6 (which i still have!), then the zs19/20; then had to get the 1000, great addition - loved it; finally - almost i got the g85, probably the best, most versatile camera i'd ever owned! then, looking at some of your you tube videos and others, out went the 1000 and the 85, traded for my newishbest ever camera- the g9. i'm just starting to get into this camera but it's fantastic. keep those videos coming matti, they're all very helpful. norm
Just purchased my first gh5 my last camera was 35mm Olympus from the 80s getting back into the hobby can’t wait to set it all up and get out and use it
I haven't used more than 3 Lumix cameras. GH5, G9 and G100 cameras. I think they all have great qualities and offer much to those of us who are on a budget. I buy all my lens used, with a few exceptions. I should clarify, my work bought the GH5, I was so impressed, I bought a G9, thinking that camera was more geared toward photography. My daughter was so impressed that she bought a G100, hoping to use that for her UA-cam projects. I am a videographer getting into photography as a hobby, and something to pursue during retirement. Also it might be a good side job after retirement.
G9; High grade Micro 4/3s camera. LX10; direct competitor to the RX100. LX100; A competitive compact camera with a Micro 4/3 sensor. GX85; A compact rangefinder style camera FT7; First rugged/waterproof camera with EVF. S5; An entry level Full Frame that carries the best features from the micro 4/3 format (Live Composite and High Res Shot). G100; Hated by most for removing features, but the video ratios and vertical video are a step in the right direction.
GX80 / 85 fills the gap perfectly for me for street and travel photography. compact handsome body, 16MP is plenty, beautiful jpeg profiles, image stabilization, even 4k. Though I am curious what a gx10 might offer ;-)
Good list of great cameras. I used to have an LX-1, but it was soaked with saltwater during sailing. I got an LX-2 after that and still have it. I have used it for many years. I have also a GH-4 for video work. I agree that it still could be used with no problem. It has very good video quality and features.
G9 is my all day, everyday go to with the excellent G80 in support... Used for all types of still photography & occasionally the odd video.. Good selection Matti...!
I use the G85 (Canada), and it's a really nice compromise in the Lumix line up. Yes, I could afford the G9, but all the features it has would be hard for me to justify (plus heavier body). My only issue with it is that it does not support USB charging. It annoys me how practically all 'modern' Lumix cameras have touch screen AF because when I use my Sony RX100 III, I just want to touch the screen (nothing happens though haha)!
I hereby nominate this video for inclusion in the Lumix Hall Of Fame Museum. I've been without a camera (other than my cell phone) for about seven years. I had a Canon Rebel and several very good lenses. But living here in the tropics, mold etched the mirror and the inside of the lenses. And so they sat, in their sad state, in the closet for all these years. Now the photography bug has bitten me again and, thanks to your wonderful videos, I'm about to assemble a G9 kit. And this one I will keep in a closet with a dehumidifier! Thank you for all your videos!
FZ1000 was far ahead of its time and I am on my second. I am a rank JPG amateur and I love it. That and the LX100ii are all I need. Thank you Panasonic.
My list would be the G1, love that camera, still have it, converted to infrared. The GX1, love the rangefinder style. The FZ200, this was my grab and go camera. The GH3, I don't do video and this camera got me to do a bit of it and still have great stills. The LX100, great compact camera with lots of control. The GX8, fantastic all around great shooter. The G9, like you this is my absolute favorite Micro Four Thirds camera. The S5, my first full frame digital camera. Our lists are very similar, thank you for doing this. p.s. I still have all these cameras, I go back to the older ones from time to time just for fun.
Hi, I started with Lumix TZ7, then learnt a lot on the FZ200 before my g9. The G9 has held its own for nearly 5 years especially with the firmware upgrades. One point I will make is that it is ergonomically lovely just to pick up and my sized hands find it very comfortable to use, I think that anyone buying a new camera should try the camera out in a shop or otherwise because if. camera doesn't feel good in your hand you may well use it less often.I would rather have a camera that may not be quite as good as others but "feel right", The g9 is quite a large bodied m4/3 which makes it well balanced with larger lenses attached.
I have a GM1 (smallest of all mft cameras), a GH2 (there were many hacks to improve video quality at the time), a GX8 (which like the olympus PEN-F is still considered as superb) and a GX800 (great photo and video features for a small travel camera). Next on my wish list is the G9; just waiting for prices to drop some more.
The S5 offers pro style video features in a micro four thirds size body, at a street price that matches m43 and aps-c cameras. Plus comprehensive stills capability for hybrid shooters. My favourites are the true micro cameras of the m43 range, like the LX3.
Only own one Panasonic Camera (FZ300) currently. Did own the FZ2500 but like the 300 for its weather proof system. I like watching your channel because I wish to purchase a Micro Third one.
I still have the dmc-fh1 I bough from 12 years ago,it’s very small so I always bring it around with me and take pictures until I boxed it few years after I bought it. And now today,i unboxed it and nostalgia flew back to my face.
For me, I still video conference using the g85, for long hikes it is the G9 in my bag, and the S1R for photo trips (with tripod mostly). On my daily bike rides, it is an older ZS70 compact camera, 30x optical zoom, I can take it out of my coat pocket, turn it on, zoom, take photos, and put it back in one handed. The larger size for a modern point and shoot actually helps with that.
Thanks. Well, the "only 1080" in this case was, because virtually all new cameras can do 4K, which is the standard today. There is nothing wrong with 1080p, of course and it's still enough for many purposes.
I got a gx85 a couple years ago and think its an excellent camera once you work it out. So many bells and whistles. I also have an olympus em5 which is also excellent. Its a little older but it has a unique character and I feel better for photography. That said the gx85 has the more modern features such as focus peaking and silent shutter and much more. I love them all..
My favourite is the Panasonic GX8 - had much fun with this! And - according to that - I name the best MFT UA-camrs of all times: 3 place goes to Fotomo (Germany) 2 place to Robin Wong (Malaysia) + Rob Trek (USA) 1 to Sulantoblog + Peter Forsgard (Suomi)
My first favorite was a panasonic zs40 travel camera(wore it out),,then fz200 bridge camera with 2.8constant lens opening.,Now I love my gx85 with 35-100 lens along with my iPhone 11 Pro..love your videos
I used an LX100 for a long time and enjoyed using it and the results. G80/81/85 was next, now using a G9 which is superb. Interesting vid Matti, thank's.
So I only have one Lumix camera: the GX8. Still use it most days, but will upgrade to the GX9 any day now, I was holding out for the "next" upgrade, but realize that will never happen, so I ordered, and returned, the Fuji X100V - I like my Lumix better! Small size and viewfinder in upper left corner is a must have for me, but I love having a tilting vierfinder too, going into functions or menus to disable or re-enable the viewfinder is so incredibly cumbersome when you can just flip it up and out of the way in stead. Thanks for sharing. Jan.
Of the ones I’ve owned, the GX7 well-built and the perfect size for a rangefinder style camera. The GX8 was a joy to use thanks to the better EVF over its predecessor. The GX800 is ultra-portable, great twinned with a pancake lens and surprisingly good image quality. I now have the G9 which is superb. Tempted of course by the S-series.
Looking for a good streetphotography camera and with my limited budget I went for the DC-GX9 and the Leica 15mm F1.7. Can't wait till the lockdown and curfew are over. Stay safe you all. Cheers from the Netherlands.
Thank you for sharing your list Matti. I had the Panasonic GX 80 and now the G 70. For me it is the right camera. Sometimes i wish i had a G81, maybe in the future.
My first Lumix cmera the G85 is an good hybrid. The G9 is capable for stills and vids. Now I’ve got the S5 too which is grerat for the price. I surely thought the S5 would make this list.
I'm still using the G3. Still like the body, really captures the small build, despite hinting at DSLR style. Had everything I wanted from a camera back in 2011. Currently thinking of upgrading to a GX9 or G100. But been enjoying playing around with it again just recently. It served me well a couple of years ago when travelling. Just got the Panasonic 20mm which I can't wait to properly test.
Keep using the G3... IMO 5 years ago the G3 would feel highly outdated, but its so old now and MFT as evolved so much that the G3 maybe quite fun to use. I have a G9 but recently picked back up my GF1 and it's an absolute blast to use!
My top2: GH1 and GM1. My only Lumixes! Purchased the GH1 for video work, but paired with the miniscule 14/2.5 it quickly became my daily all-around camera. Especially loved the multi-aspect ratio sensor and the onboard mics on it. The GM1 is a lovely pocket cam, and still sees occasional use due to size. One aspect I noticed.. you talked a lot in past tense. Makes me wonder; do new cameras make older ones obsolete?
Great video. I bought a second hand GX7 in excellent condition for less than £200 having moved up from G2 and G5. I really like the small size and easy to use. The G8 and G9 are out of my price range though l love the latter one day. So bought a few really good quality second hand Panasonic prime lens 14mm, 25mm and 45-150mm to go along with kit 14-42mm. I bought a Gobe lens adapter for a Pentax fit as lve several Pentax lens for my K-70. Panasonic have a great selection of super zoom cameras and l've used my tz60 for travel many times and it's a brilliant walk about camera.
@@mattisulanto I hope one next LX100-generation will have a tiltable LCDscreen or tiltable VF! Unforunately the present LX100-II didn't give me the same pleasure as LX5, though its image quality was (a lot) better... I sold it to buy a Canon GX5-mkII, which is quite good for everyday- &streetphotography and has a tiltable LCDscreen.
Being used to OMD hardware I found those three dials on the GX8 'overkill'. I normally only need one dial for Aperture and one for plus/minus corrections. As I'm a left-eye shooter touchFocus doesn't work for me.
The only difference for me would be choosing the GH2 over the GH1. The GH2 had such a tremendous impact on the video world, and especially so with the many hacks that were created for it. There are still people today who use the GH2 to shoot video. I never had one, but I'd still like to purchase one. The G9 is definitely a camera I'd like to have, as well as the S1. Thanks for all the great videos you have produced for us.
Very well said. Exactly my point and I use both the GH2 and the G9. To see a private person’s firmware knowledge completely change the interest for the GH2 and revolutionize the usage, must have been exciting for anyone.
I use a GH5 and GH5s, but the most fun I have with the GX9. Small, handsome, instant ready for all opportunities with a big picture quality and it's excellent b/w profiles...
Honourable mentions: the LC1: the first rangefinder inspired digital camera, the FZ35: a classic bridge camera with a super zoom lens and the TZi: the first compact travel zoom camera.
I wish that Panasonic would do an advanced but simple camera. Like a an LX100 and a G9 combined with focus on knobs to turn and fewer menu choices more like settings. Let me be in charge of the photos. High technology: AF, sensor, 1.4 lens super quality zoom, but let me do the fiddling of the knobs. Take away PASM and replace it with White Balance knob and ISO Knob. The “LUMIX In Charge” camera.
That would be cool! However, because it doesn't cost any more to add those features you wanted leave out, we are not likely to see such a camera. Most people want more even though they are never going to use all those features😀
The three Lumix cameras I have owned have all been amazing and a joy. In 2010 I got the LX5, so I know what you were saying about the LX1, the LX5 is something special for me, I learnt a lot from it, I still have it, it still works fine today. The GX7 is the next on my list, it was the first Lumix M43 camera to feature IBIS! Next my current camera, the GX80. Smaller, with better IBIS and 4k photo. Now Panasonic, make me a new camera that can top this one ;-)
I’m usually a canon and Sony shooter. But I was seduced by gx850 as a tiny camera and raw photos. Just love it, and due to that nice impression with lumix quality pictures and software, just add a G9. Best camera per dollar ever in those days.
LX7, FZ1000, GH4, GX8, G9. I sold the GH4 when I went to the G9 but the other 4 are still being used on a daily bases. LX7 and FZ1000 are great walk around cams and get a lot of use and I've not found anything yet that would replace them. I've had several other Lumix's but these 4 are keepers.
Great video, many Lumix great cameras listed. We built our first commercial drone around a Lumix GF3, it´s still fully functional with live video feed and a servo triggered shutter. Today we rely 100% on Lumix cameras in our video productions, the S1H being the "A-camera", with a GH5 and G9 completing the line-up. Out of these cameras, I´m still blown away by the GH5, it was so far ahead of it´s time when it was released that it still is a very current camera in2021. 4k50 with no crop, or 4k25 10 bit internally is really useful! Would really like to try out the BGH1, especially for live-streaming jobs that we do more and more of.
Despite having 2 sony bridge cameras and a sony slt77 I bought FZ1000 because of ıt!s 1" sensor. and it never disappointed me. Even in 2022 ı still use it as my main travel camera.
I've had 5 Lumix cameras, so they are my best 5: 1. G9 - Gets more use than my full frame Canon bodies 2. G85 - Great handling; excellent value (backup for my G9) 3. GM5 - No longer with me, but the size and build were outstanding 4. GX85 - Replaced my GF7 and GM5 as my carry camera 5. GF7 - Still shoots well but rarely used nowadays
Hi Matti, good one! I'm enjoy & learning my G9 and still shooting on my LX100 & ZS100 is very nice also (and share same battery type) Sometime it would be great if you could make a video with your advice about how to shoot / digitize old 35mm slides & film in to Lumix camera - now we all have more time to do such projects! Thanks, @Jon Hammond
My S1R is for me the most impressive and versatile creative tool I ever have... (I don't do videos) Lots of pixels to play with (especially for someone like me who wanted to play with aspect ratios like XPan and still retain enough MP), very good low light capabilities (thanks to the IBIS who helps a lot more than I thought to keep the ISO down... but still ISO 6400 is great and even 12800 can be used sometimes, especially in black and white), great ergonomics and menus, excellent evf and screen (who tilt just the way I like) etc... It tick all the boxes for the camera I wanted (alongside my Fuji X-pro3), except maybe the weight, but it makes it more secure in the hands and make me more stable so not really a problem. As I didn't have any other Panasonic cameras before (beside a bridge longtime ago...) and my S1R is few months new, I am a little biased of course... 😅
I have the Lumix LX-10, a 1" sensor 4K video pocket camera. To me it's perfect for familiy pictures, travel and street photography, specially in low light. Another adventage is low profile, I mean the risk of being robbed in the street or certain areas of the city. Great small camera, plenty of bells and whistles. Regards from Chile. Plinio Correa
The first ever camera I've ever owned and bought with my own money was the FZ8. Great camera, but yes, the image noise was atrocious. Still, I made so many memorable pictures with that camera.
My all-time favourite was my GF1 which had superb ergonomics. I've also owned a G3 and LX5. My current cameras are a G90 and GX80. I was so impressed by the GX80 (which replaced my GF1) that I sold off all my Nikon gear then bought the G90 and more lenses. I thought the G9 was physically too large for my liking and did contemplate buying an E-M1mkii instead, but decided the G90 would be a better choice due to Dual IS with my lenses and same menu system. I'm very happy with the G90/GX80 combination
My favorites include the TZ10, LX5, G1, G5, GH3, GM5, G80, and G9. I bought the TZ10 around '06 i think because I wanted a decent camcorder and it was cheaper, smaller and gave better video quality than similarly priced camcorders. Of course I accidentally soaked it in sea water at the seaside but it kept going even though you could sea water inside the lens. It dried out after about a week and is still working today. This reliability and ease of use particularly with the menu system is what had me stay with Panasonic Lumix. I still have the LX5 (with the EVF) which is over ten years old, still a great camera. The G1 is what persuaded me to leave Canon in favor of micro 4/3. The G5 was better than expected but I sold it to help pay for the GH3 which I got in summer 2014. I rated the GH3 as the best camera I'd ever owned until I bought the G80 which was slightly better in almost every way. Then I sold both to pay for the G9 (with Leica 12-60) and I can honestly say that this is the best camera kit I've ever used. Last xmas it got a sidekick, the G100. A bit long winded but there it is :)
I started with a Lumix G2 in 2012 or so, upgraded to G7 in 2022 and if I had some money to spare, I´d definitely get a G9... But I also wanted to try a full-frame, so these days I mostly play with a Canon 6D (original) with a 1.8 nifty-fifty on it...
Are you going to do a video on the G100? I think the best camera is the one you have with you when there is a picture to take. That’s one spot where the G100 shines. Pair it with a super wide angle and it’s dynamite.
Great video, congratulations! 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏿👏🏼I think there are three other cameras that must be part of "the best Panasonic cameras of all time": LX-100, LX-100II and GH-5!😉
I approached Lumix through the TZ100. I paired it with my Sony 6400 but ultimately I used the little Lumix very often. So a few months ago I decided to preovate the M43 system. I sold the Sony and got a simple GX80 (I wanted something very similar to a compact). With the camera I took 12-32 and then 42.5 1.7 and 35-100 2.8 first series. I must say this is the second time in 45 years that I have taken pictures that I have grown fond of a camera. The first was the Olympus OM1. I hope that Lumix continues the path of the G format because Full Frame is far from my philosophy. Thanks for the video
I like my G9 with the Panasonic Leica 10-25 f/1.7 lens for everyday shooting. I have gained enough confidence in this camera that I am buying the fast f/1.2 Nocticron lens for portrait photography. I am practical enough not to spend ten times the money on a 90 mm Summilux f/1.5 lens for my M camera and not getting acceptable images knowing my imperfect focusing skill.
Hi Matti, thank You for Your videos; after watching this one I had to check the exact type of our old Lumix camera. And it's the DMC-LX2! Back then I was looking for something compact but powerful to accompany the Canon 20D. Both of them are retired for quite along time now, in service they got replaced by Canon G7 mk II and Canon 7D. I haven't been shooting with this LX2 for ages. Ocassionally I will have to give it a try again, just for fun!
Loved my LX3. My entry drug for LUMIX cameras. The LX7 is also a favorite. Now I used the Gx85 for street photography along with the Panasonic 15 mm lens. Small and light. The only thing this body lacks is an audio input jack. Then there is the G9. Five years later Panasonic hasn’t improved this body other than firmware updates. A photography camera with strong video features. A powerful instrument and fun to use. The Leica 12-60 lives on this body. Mask On Nurse Marty
I tried the GX8 but I preferred to buy the Olympus Pen F, I couldn't resist its look. I have the Panasonic Lumix GM1, i think the GM1 should be in tehe list because is the smallest interchangeable lens camera ever built. For years it has been in my pocket and I was never disappointed. It is ideal as a second camera due to its small size but allowing us to use all the micro 4/3 lenses that we have in our backpack.
I actually really love my LX100, it's a great compromise. Excepts that dust gets easily inside and cleaning the sensor is kinda beyond my technical abilities
I started with the GF1 and 20 mm lens. I still have this camera and use it occasionally. Next was the GH2 which was great at video! I gave it to my son and bought the G7! What a great camera as I still have it. Then came the GX85 because it has IBIS and no moiré filter! I actually used it for professional work! And still use it occasionally with the 20mm on it because it is a powerful compact package. Finally the G9! A M43 masterpiece! But I have no FF Lumix as of yet.
Thanks Matti, a very interesting list. My MFT history is somewhat shorter, started with Olympus E-M5 II but Lumix entered only few months later with the GM1. I loved the size of it as travel and pocketable camera but missed the viewfinder. Then I found the GM5, which (2) are my travel/city cameras. As I have enjoyed my Lumix Leica lenses I finally sold the Olympus and bought the G9 in 2019. In my opinion I have best of both worlds now, pro level G9 at the large end and the smallest viewfinder MFT at the other end.
Thanks. The G9 is really lovely.

Thank you for sharing your Lumix experience.
I really enjoyed watching this episode. My GX8 is a marvelous camera and I'm so happy to see it made your list.
I just got S5IIx and absolutely love it! Such a beast for video shooting and photo taking!!
I only have the GX85 and it suits long-time newbies such as me 😀
Thanks, it's a nice camera indeed.
would like to see Panasonic colab with Google for a LX100 AI version... great reviews Matti as always
I'm a GX85 aficionado too because of the myriad of features in a compact package.
Good list Matti. I have only used a handful of Lumix, but my favorite is the GF-1. I like it so much I bought two bodies in case one broke, but it never did. Panasonic cameras and lenses are the only system I have used in my 58 years that never needed a repair or service ever. Stay safe.
Thanks for sharing. I also had the GF1 at some point and I liked it a lot.
I also bought the GF-1 and still use it with my vintage lenses
I dusted off my GF1 recently and I've been loving it's output. Truly was a game changer for me- my first digital camera and I took that thing everywhere... Thank you.
I bought a new black GX8 and a new silver GX8 a few years ago and am still delighted with them.
Just purchased my first gh5 my last camera was 35mm Olympus from the 80s getting back into the hobby can’t wait to set it all up and get out and use it
I purchased my very first Lumix camera 2 months ago: S5 and I'm absolutely loving it
Great to hear and thanks for watching.
Yeah I’ve been debating the GH5 or the S5...
My favorite is definitely the G9. An amazing camera. I love the LX100 MkII as well. A powerful, fun, compact joy.
Thanks for sharing.
G9; High grade Micro 4/3s camera.
LX10; direct competitor to the RX100.
LX100; A competitive compact camera with a Micro 4/3 sensor.
GX85; A compact rangefinder style camera
FT7; First rugged/waterproof camera with EVF.
S5; An entry level Full Frame that carries the best features from the micro 4/3 format (Live Composite and High Res Shot).
G100; Hated by most for removing features, but the video ratios and vertical video are a step in the right direction.
Thanks for sharing your favorites.
GX80 / 85 fills the gap perfectly for me for street and travel photography. compact handsome body, 16MP is plenty, beautiful jpeg profiles, image stabilization, even 4k. Though I am curious what a gx10 might offer ;-)
Thank you so much for the video! I've just started exploring the photography world and your channel is just a treasure. Thanks a lot ❤
Great to hear!
Good list of great cameras. I used to have an LX-1, but it was soaked with saltwater during sailing. I got an LX-2 after that and still have it. I have used it for many years. I have also a GH-4 for video work. I agree that it still could be used with no problem. It has very good video quality and features.
Thanks bro, your comments are always appreciated.
I'm love my GM1 & GX8 camera, and have using them for years with absolutely joy.
but I'm might thinking to try out the S5 in the future
My first lumix camera was an LX100 (mk1) I loved it so much that when I wanted to replace my canon aps-c DSLR I got another Lumix, a G9!
Great to hear!
G9 is my all day, everyday go to with the excellent G80 in support... Used for all types of still photography & occasionally the odd video.. Good selection Matti...!
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing.
I own the GX-85 and the G9, I love both, but the G9 is incredible!!!!!
I remember those GH2 hacks really well😀
The G9 is worth it. Fantastic camera.
The S5 offers pro style video features in a micro four thirds size body, at a street price that matches m43 and aps-c cameras. Plus comprehensive stills capability for hybrid shooters. My favourites are the true micro cameras of the m43 range, like the LX3.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome :D
For me, I still video conference using the g85, for long hikes it is the G9 in my bag, and the S1R for photo trips (with tripod mostly). On my daily bike rides, it is an older ZS70 compact camera, 30x optical zoom, I can take it out of my coat pocket, turn it on, zoom, take photos, and put it back in one handed. The larger size for a modern point and shoot actually helps with that.
Thanks for sharing.
My top:
Lumix LC1
Lumix LF1
Lumix GX1
I still recoil when people say "only 1080". It still seems a fantastic video quality to me. I am too old and set in my ways! Enjoyed your review.
Thanks. Well, the "only 1080" in this case was, because virtually all new cameras can do 4K, which is the standard today. There is nothing wrong with 1080p, of course and it's still enough for many purposes.
I bought Lumix g3 in 2012. Still kicking. Aluminum body! Have no desire to switch.
Thanks. No need to upgrade too often😀
Thanks for sharing!
My favourite is the Panasonic GX8 - had much fun with this!
And - according to that - I name the best MFT UA-camrs of all times:
3 place goes to Fotomo (Germany)
2 place to Robin Wong (Malaysia) + Rob Trek (USA)
1 to Sulantoblog + Peter Forsgard (Suomi)
Thanks for sharing that interesting list😀
I bought a used FZ1000 today for use as a backup/B-cam together with my S5. It's old tech, for sure, but I think it will fulfill it's purpose.
I'm sure it'll work. Thanks for sharing.
My first favorite was a panasonic zs40 travel camera(wore it out),,then fz200 bridge camera with 2.8constant lens opening.,Now I love my gx85 with 35-100 lens along with my iPhone 11 Pro..love your videos
Thanks for sharing.
I used an LX100 for a long time and enjoyed using it and the results. G80/81/85 was next, now using a G9 which is superb. Interesting vid Matti, thank's.
Thanks for sharing!
Jan.
Thanks for sharing.
For me, the Lumix G7, Lumix GH4, Lumix GH5 and Lumix G9. BEAST!
Thanks.
My two favorites- The LX7 with External Electronic Viewfinder, and G9. G9 is the best camera I ever had. Shooting birds and butterflies. Great
Thanks.
G9 & GH5 always my companion...keep safe and healthy Sir
Thanks.
G9 and GM1 are my two favourite LUMIX cameras, the G9 is a brilliant camera, the GM1 is so compact, and produces great images.
Thanks for sharing,
My line up is two GF-1's, LX-5, GH-1, GX-7 and G85. All good reliable cameras with great image quality.
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing.
Looking for a good streetphotography camera and with my limited budget I went for the DC-GX9 and the Leica 15mm F1.7. Can't wait till the lockdown and curfew are over. Stay safe you all. Cheers from the Netherlands.
Да отличная связка отлично снимает и фото и видео!
Thanks for sharing and stay safe as well.
Lx100ii is great
As a videographer, I've bought, used, and sold a number of a Lumix cameras over the years. The ones I'm keeping are the GH5S, G9, and GX8.
Thanks.
I started with an FZ330 and moved after 1 year to a G9, which I love, for Watersport photos mainly.
Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your list Matti. I had the Panasonic GX 80 and now the G 70. For me it is the right camera. Sometimes i wish i had a G81, maybe in the future.
Thanks for watching.
My GM1 still amazes me with its tiny size and photo quality and G85 has been a video workhorse
#1 TZ1 #2 LX2 #3 GM1 #4 GM5 #5 GX8, I always use the last three
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing.
I owned LX5, very fine photo quality, compact-unobtrusive; the mounted EVF is essential.
Thanks for sharing.
I bought the GH2 back in 2012 exactly because of the hackable firmware.
I use a GH5 and GH5s, but the most fun I have with the GX9. Small, handsome, instant ready for all opportunities with a big picture quality and it's excellent b/w profiles...
Thanks.
Thank you!
huge fan of M43. I still own the GH5. I'm waiting for the GH7!!
Do it
I’m usually a canon and Sony shooter. But I was seduced by gx850 as a tiny camera and raw photos. Just love it, and due to that nice impression with lumix quality pictures and software, just add a G9. Best camera per dollar ever in those days.
Thanks. Sometimes the small size is really great.
Thanks for sharing your best Lumix cameras and nice to see they are still in use😀
I've had 5 Lumix cameras, so they are my best 5:
1. G9 - Gets more use than my full frame Canon bodies
2. G85 - Great handling; excellent value (backup for my G9)
3. GM5 - No longer with me, but the size and build were outstanding
4. GX85 - Replaced my GF7 and GM5 as my carry camera
5. GF7 - Still shoots well but rarely used nowadays
Thanks for sharing.
Not everyone has deep pockets new users and learners need lower price affordable cameras🤯
Hi Matti, good one! I'm enjoy & learning my G9 and still shooting on my LX100 & ZS100 is very nice also (and share same battery type)
Sometime it would be great if you could make a video with your advice about how to shoot / digitize old 35mm slides & film in to Lumix camera - now we all have more time to do such projects! Thanks, @Jon Hammond
Thanks. I've been thinking about making a video on how to digitize film with a Lumix. Maybe I'll make it😀
Fav Lumix cameras GM5 and GM1 still use my GM’s all the time, gh5 S1r, G9, GF1, gx85.
Thanks for sharing.
My S1R is for me the most impressive and versatile creative tool I ever have... (I don't do videos)
Lots of pixels to play with (especially for someone like me who wanted to play with aspect ratios like XPan and still retain enough MP), very good low light capabilities (thanks to the IBIS who helps a lot more than I thought to keep the ISO down... but still ISO 6400 is great and even 12800 can be used sometimes, especially in black and white), great ergonomics and menus, excellent evf and screen (who tilt just the way I like) etc...
Thank you for sharing.
I have the GH5 for video, and very impressed with it.
Thanks.
The gx85 was a fun camera to shoot with.
Thanks.
I like very much my S1 (with 1,4 35mm Art Sigma and S 20+-60) and my recent S5 II X for black & white photos

The first ever camera I've ever owned and bought with my own money was the FZ8. Great camera, but yes, the image noise was atrocious. Still, I made so many memorable pictures with that camera.
I have the GX9 which I think it brilliant. Its ver underrated like the GX8.
Thanks. The GF1 was really nice and I liked too.
Wonderful video Matti.
Thanks.
I love my FZ1000! Faaaaaaantastic!
Thanks for sharing your opnion.
Thanks for sharing.
@@mattisulanto It was my pleasure!
The Lumix GM5. Small, yet very capable.
Are you going to do a video on the G100? I think the best camera is the one you have with you when there is a picture to take. That’s one spot where the G100 shines. Pair it with a super wide angle and it’s dynamite.
If I can borrow the G100 I may do a video in the future.
Great video, congratulations! 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏿👏🏼I think there are three other cameras that must be part of "the best Panasonic cameras of all time": LX-100, LX-100II and GH-5!😉
Thanks for sharing your favorites.
I use only 1 Panasonic camera, The Best LUMIX G7
i love this camera!
Thanks for sharing.
My little G7 will do me as l like to travel light. I can carry essential gear in one small shoulder bag all day. Though l do lust after the G9.
Thanks. Who wouldn't want the G9?😀
My best Lumix is G1, GM1, GX8, G9, S1R. My all time favourite is the GX8 which I still use for street work.
Thank you.
Thanks. Try your LX2, it's fun to to shoot on some those old cameras once in a while.

Thank for sharing.
Thanks. The Pen F was/is really good looking.
Thanks for sharing!
Im using S1.....nice Camera
Whoa! some great images there Matti!...
Thanks for sharing, Tapsa.
