I agree with your thinking: a more "brawler" focused craft will make things a bit more interesting, and will also make the fights more entertaining than just railgun shots from 3km away.

Lathrixian activity has been spotted some where in the middle of the ocean, however no one can pin point exactly where he is or predict where he is going to be.Oddly the reports are that he is driving a giant Armoured missile shooting bathtub Also capable of submerging underwater like a sub.

same. Without Lathrix i would have never found this game. FTD is the sandbox game i have been looking for, for a while. ( just sucks that i have a bad system ) I kinda know how everything works but I'm still finding myself watching tutorials. Or just watching Lathrixs' videos and prying apart his designs to find out what's wrong with mine. Another great thing about this game is its community is very helpful.
I wouldn't mind seeing this series become not just survival but a sort of exploration of all the weapons and technologies available in FtD. Instead of just finding the first thing that works and settling for it, maybe you could make it a goal to use as many weird and creative builds and tactics as you can imagine. Try things you don't usually, like short-range laser combiners and laser cutters, melee particle cannons, multiblock drills, steam drills, steam jets, ring shields, giant extendable robot arms with melee weapons, vehicle docking bays on turrets holding giant plates of armor to use as shields, heavy vehicles that drive on the bottom of the ocean instead of swimming, spaceships that rain down fire from orbit, unguided rockets, long-duration floating mines where you have to drop the mines in the path of your enemy and wait for them to drive into them, drones with harpoons that pull themselves to the enemy and then explode with nukes, custom jet engines with turbines to provide power instead of traditional piston engines (that's a new feature), all varieties of cluster missile you can imagine, weapons of any kind that max out their component count limit and do obscene damage, giant graviton ram guns that smack tiny enemies around like table tennis balls, etc... I could go on all day (as you can see, haha) but generally just try to think of unique ways to use the technologies available and ways to combine them into even more unique systems.
You should play whatever way you enjoy most, because that'll keep you interested and if you're having fun, we're having fun. But if you'd consider it, I think you might enjoy just cutting loose, not worrying too much about the form or efficiency of your vehicle(s), and just going full mad-science on this playthrough. Wacky things might not be the safest bet, but perhaps delicately treading the edge of oblivion would add some vigor to the experience.
Backward Utilized Tracking Torpedoes have a long history in gaming history. A BUTT launcher is a good choice when you want to run away.

Unironically since in FtD it's easier to make a supersonic plane than a supersonic missiles, BUTT missiles are the only way to arm them.

Hey, the benefit of having the craft made out of a bathtub is that it is always clean!
Honor rule: you cannot shoot at the enemy from too far away, you must be able to clearly see your enemy to attack it. No sniping from two kilometers away

I can't express how much I've been looking forward to this. I hope everything is fine with your mom and (I hope I can speak for all of us) we understand the upload schedule
I have an idea for you - make a certain amount of material changes per episode as a hard bottom line, so each episode you either have improved/changed your craft or added to it. That would help to keep things fresh, and not end up with a stagnant kill-all craft towards the end that you don't make changes to.

Honor rule idea: Fight Everything

Some honour rules I made in a second:
You have to build a central altar for the chaos gods. You have to complete a sacrifice of X material value every time you go through a portal.
or
No damaging missiles (harpoons are allowed)
or
Add an AI core somewhere in your craft per kill (this could be your kill-count)
or
For every one APS gun, you have to build two crams (firing piece)

Regarding honour rules, as long as you have to get into closer range than "can't see the enemy" then I'm down with anything. It's fun to watch you blow people up, and pretty much every weapon is overpowered when you build it right.
I have 2 different suggestions for limitations that could be quite fun:
1: You are not allowed to use simple-weapons. They are just a bit too good for what they are and take away the challenge of designing a very smal but effective weapon yourself.
2: You are not allowed to use turrets. I think that this one would be very interessing since you would have to come up with a completly new design philosophie regarding your ships.
I really love to see more FtD contend on your channel since you are by far the most entertaining Content Creater regarding FtD.
Honor Mode, Version close and personal: You can only shoot at thing closer than about 500-300 meter.
Extra Challenge: Every resource zone in sight has to be drained completely and can't be left behind before that.
Love your content. In my opinion, you are the best UA-camr to cover the field of FtD. And your stuff always looks unique and functional at worst, stunning is the norm for your builds.
Honor rule proposition: You must ram at least 1 enemy per episode. You dont have to kill with the ram, but the nose of your craft must boop the enemy.

I think the one rule you need to make for this playthrough is to have fun. You make crazy stuff more amusing when you are amused... and let's be honest your builds good builds are often quite crazy.
i propose these honor rules:
1. engage with everyone
2. no manual fire
3. only go really fast or don't move at all

Honor Rule: Brawler.
All weapons - be they missiles, lasers, etc., are ALL optimized for short range - less than 300 meters, preferably 100 meters. This will give all enemies a good chance to detect and attack you, as well as give us a close up and personal look at what you fight.
The idea of close range missiles and melee lasers is hilarious to me for some reason.
You can tell Lathrix is improving in his designs. They actually look quite impressive.

I can't agree more. Close combat and melee versions seem really powerful, since they are not very energy inefficient unlike the larger versions. And since Lathrix always builds tanky, getting up close and personal shouldn't be that difficult.

I think it'd be really interesting to make sure that your craft can always function as a flyer and a submarine every time you do major upgrades.

Spawn and maintain a fleet of ships, each Zone, Scrap them for resources before moving on, Deploy Remote Satilights for strategic mapping, and Intel. Build an undersea base and abandon it for fun. You're recolonizing the shattered interdimensional wastelands. You cannot leave until you've left a settlement behind
First time I've started watching Lathrix as he uploads! Very hype for this adventure mode.

You can assign several axis responses to any means of propulsion, including dediblades. In the case of your craft, you could set your roll propellers to respond to both roll and altitude control axis. Set them to both presets to look at how they're set, then combine what you've seen and voilà. Seeing how thick this craft has already gotten in a single episode, I'm sure more lifting capability and redundancy will be welcome down the line!
If you want to go for short range combat, I suggest creative means of melee combat such as spinning telescopic rams of doom. :)

I propose, Thy bathtub become the deathtub. It is only allowed THREE weapons of your choice but must require them to be at full power, you also must have a fun time making it!
I'd love to see a high-aggression run. Short range weapons, high speed, chase after your enemies! >:D
It'd be a nice change of pace from long and medium range combat, and also means that manual aim is a little less overbearingly strong since you're already close enough for your weapons to rarely miss the enemy anyways. Plus I think it'd be cool to see a "shotgun" style of cannon that just peppers an enemy with multiple short-ranged hits at the same time.
At 16:42 my heart started beating faster when he said shrike. Those things are my builds worst nightmare.
A few ideas for an honor rules:
Try sticking to close and medium range weapons, so you can't demolish everything from over the horizon.
Have a small fleet of craft with *extremely* specialized roles, to the point where any subsystem beyond basic propulsion and power needs its own craft. So you'd have a ship for detection, a ship for each weapon system, a ship for storage, and so on. The goal is to create a swarm of micro-ships that need to work together to function as one complete ship.
Finally, try sticking to unusual weapons and systems or unusual variants of the same. So things like cluster missiles instead of normal ones, radar missiles for detection, graviton rams on advanced cannons, and warp drives for propulsion.

I purpose the rule for this series be your craft must be a capable flyer, boat, and submarine at all times. As a second one, I really like your idea of limiting yourself to close range weapons only.
As a specific rule for this adventure I suggest "no running away from a fight" but you can run away if a fight haven't started yet. But how to define a "fight" ? Well, I came out with the following : "A fight start at the instant where an enemy have open fire on you and is in range, it also start if you oppen fire on it while being in range. This doesn't imply that the shot actually hit, so if the shot missed but was clearly in range : the fight has started. It also start if an ally has open fire and is in range or if an enemy has open fire on an ally while in range." That way if you see an enemy in the distance wich is too strong you can try and avoid it but if you decide to attack or if you are taken by surprise then you have no choice but to win.... Or die. (and Khorn would be pleased by this honor rule)

Imagine a flying ship, tons of rams of the front. Litterslly divebombs straight into enemys and unloads a ton of pure emp warhead missiles. Basically try and kill and capture a ship in one go by embedding itself straight it the middle

When your missiles were flying to the Onyx Watch craft and you said you didn't know what you were firing at, the Missile tooltip told you they were aiming for the Advanced Firing Piece on a Telemachus.
I think the challenge you get from having to jump onto the enemy craft to get more resource looks more engaging than just destroying them at range and collecting their scrap.

Honor rule: emp can only be used in cluster missiles or cram cannons.
OR
ALL emp is fine, but no turrets! All weapons are fixed into a permanent firing arc and cannot turn freely.
Honour rule: Your craft must use the "type of transportation" of the enemy its fighting, this means that you'll have to fly, swim or dive based on wether you're facing a flyer, ship or submarine
This sounds like a neat idea but would probably be hard to implement in combat especially if he fights several enemies like a flyer and a sub at the same time

What if he does it in reverse so if there's a flyer he has to be a sub and if there a sub then be a flyer but if there a boat the you could be either also he can be a boat when he fights a boat he can't be a boat if he's fighting a flyer or sub.
Rule idea! Particle cannons only. You have to use particle cannons to fulfill every role of your craft, from AA, to anti-sub, to capital ship blowey-uppies.

Ideas for honor rules:
-you can only use light alloy, no other kind of armor
- only missiles are allowed as offensive and defensive weapons
-you must fight every oppenant you see
no automated repair system, you must repair your ship yourself
you cannot have more than 1 EMP missile launcher

I'd love to see a "finders keepers" where you have to steal one craft per non peaceful area you go to. OR "ground is lava" game where if any of your craft touch the water you gotta scrap em.
Honour rules: go ham on the enemies, no restraints.
Down side: you can only uses two of the same type of weapon and up the difficulty at least 5 levels each episode

here is an idea for possibly a future (or this one) adventure mode series: Play the mode using a modular ship design, so instead slowly building on top of your existing ship, you can add modules to it whenever you have the resources, like a cannon module, or rockets, or armor even. and then a heliblade module that you can add when the ship gets too heavy to fly or ballast in case its a sub. there is alot you can try with this :) (you would be allowed to move the modules around freely)
