I've been riding and racing my Exie since February. Replaced my Ripley V2 with this bike. The Exie climbs and shreds at race pace. Not as forgiving on downhills but capable. The step cast fork is lightweight but has a narrow crown. That affects handling IMO.

XC Race Bikes already have super firm suspension, the lockouts are not a guaranty for higher speeds. That said…It’s a more a mental uplift thing, the bike just feels faster to the rider.

To me is more important the frame, geometry and the ride quality than components and value. Btw my neighbor had Oiz frame replaced after not many km ridden (he rides not so much as me). On stage race Trilogy 2021, 2 Oiz frames in service booth with broken privot linkges and without propietary screw you have no chance to fix it. No thanks, take your Oiz I will take my Exie.
