Rare Earth in Concert 1971 - played it continuously as a kid. Fantastic.
I was at the concert in 1971 here in Miami when they were recording...RARE EARTH IN CONCERT
@@cesarulisesrodriguez9724 I still play it today all the time. 20 or 30 minutes of Get Ready never gets old. I would have loved to be there, congrats.
@@sms9106 ...yeah John Persh was my favorite Bass player
Either on an LP or an 8 track I'm guessing. Man, I wore out so many 8 tracks during that period, that it's ridiculous, but I don't regret a single dollar I spent, or the memories they gave me.
I wore out one record and three tapes of that concert. You know, water and electricity don't go together, I can't get into that at all.
Fantastic Band.
Ayer hoy mañana y siempre TIERRA EXTRAÑA.
Rare Earth in Concert listened to them continously from 75 to 79 during my undergrad days. Tops.
Pete Rivera's real name was Peter Hoorelbek & I agree they not the same without him.....The Willie Remebers ......album was my favorite by Rare Earth
Peter Rivera WAS Rare Earth. Guy had so much soul that eminated out to the rest of the band. So many memories of that time if listening to their music .. wow.
I love all of Rare Earth music but my favorite album is Rare Earth in Concert 1971 . A total rush from first to last note of sound.
Pp
T his music IS from m'y généràtion ans i feel good this one...!!!
Para mi fue un Mundo y Ecología, los mejores álbumes, lo afirma un Disjoker de los 70 .
One of the most underrated, but talented acts ever. A great great band!
You're get the better of that👍
THESE GUYS SUCK WIND
Not underrated at all Rare Earth live sold pretty well and the album art was the best.
100% agreed!!
😂😂😂...but of course! The famous 'underrated' comment🦉 ... never misses⁉️
this band came to my home town--Sault Ste Marie in like 1976--never heard of them but when concerts came we popped some acid and went---they were amazing--LOL
We opened for these guys in Corpus Christi Texas about 20 years ago at a place called the sugar shack. Our name was About Time.
Mike Bruner on the keyboard is one badass player and person. Love to my brothers!
Rear earth, get ready long version....TIMELESS
A love this band since early 70's i was 12 old when i bought second LP"Get ready"👍👍👍👍
They were and hopefully still are phenomenal. Tell me what'd I say!!! Live!!! Hurt me honey
first chance in Alburquerque NM got to play this tune with some fellows past the isleta bridge and eigth street and we jammed the tune "Get Ready" for three hours straight. Still to this day will never forget tune and this tune we played in the beginning of 1970.
I’ve always loved you guys that’s because you are the absolute best ❤
Pete Rivera was awesome. Saw the classic rock All-stars in 2008 I think. Members of Sugarloaf, Iron Butterfly, I forget who else. Pete Rivera has such a powerful voice.
I saw the CRA about that same year. They put on a great show.
You realize Peter Rivera is t in this video if you do then I apologize
been a fan since my first concert in 1972.
Serious talent!! Not only that but the all looked like they were having fun while doing it!! Awesome! Glad I reconnected with them on UA-cam!
But they are sooo bad.
Wow....this was such a bittersweet show to watch and listen to. If I saw them onstage without an introduction, I'd have had no idea who they were, but when they got going, I knew exactly who they were. I was part of a band in High School(after hours) and Rare Earth was one band we tried so hard to sound like. We had permission to practice in the auditorium, but we wanted a live crowd to practice in front of for feedback. I did vocals and tambourine, sometimes playing it like a bongo, my best friend Steve was on lead guitar, and we had a bass man and drummer. Such memories and shear fun, during the days of integrating and consolidating the two high schools, and I was the only "spot" in our little group, but we were like a band of brothers. Race wasn't an issue with any of us. On Sundays we'd play in a Church after services were over, and always had a spill over crowd to listen to us, and build our confidence up. We never got far, but man was it fun while it lasted!! In watching the video, they've all aged so much, and the guy on lead guitar looked like he'd forgotten his bottom denture, and was wearing a 2XXL t shirt, but when it was time to kick it, he did exactly that, with grace and that "kick ass" style. I guess never judge a book by it's cover, 'eh? The drummer wasn't the original singer, but did he knock it out of the ballpark or what? He had that original Rare Earth sound and quality to his voice, and drumming while he sang. I hope he loves the bands music and legend enough to carry on the name for decades to come, and for future generations. Rare Earth was, to me, always left behind by some other groups of the same time period, but they hit your heart and mind just as powerful. As one commenter put it, they were "one of the most under rated, but talented acts ever", and I totally agree! Having been through hell with health issues, and now trying to start a ranch for homeless youth, "I just want to celebrate, another day of living!" We all should! ❤❤❤
Rare Earth Is a very underrated band. One of the greatest.
Awesome funky classic rocking dude. an inspiration to us all
Rare Earth -Terrific band
Yes, rip. And Peter Rivera lives on!
Rare Earth. Been listening to them since the early 70's. Never at the top of my list of go to albums, but every year I'll pull them out and listen for a day or two. Definitely a great underrated band. I was fortunate to have lived in the Detroit area back then and they were played a lot.

Seen them in Lawrence Kansas between 1970 = 1974 ...too many drugs.🤣🤣🤪🤪🥴🥴
It is majestic to remember this great band with all its successes in which was my time of youth, a time also where this wonderful music was enjoyed especially, (GET READY) a beautiful memory, thank you Rara Earth.
Grew up with this amazing band since second grade now lm almost 57 pretty long time but still sound great ..too bad drummer Rivera wasn't around he was the real heart and voice of the band
Two words, love it
This was one of the best concerts that I have been to and I've been to quite a few. Ray on guitar was phenomenal.
Pete Rivera was my idol as a young drummer. I sang also. Journey's drummer is an incredible singer. They are not the same without Pete Rivera.
Agree. Peter Rivera was the driving force of the original Rare Earth.
I've been to the arcada theater sometimes and saw Vanilla fudge among other bands and local bands
Como me lembro do meu pai quando escutávamos juntos !!!! Adoro essa banda!!! Rare 4eva!!!!
They can still rock out!!! Stay strong and healthy guys.
They have a few years on them but this proves you never loose the funk! Amazing! Rare Earth forever!
*lose
Indeed it's a crying shame Peter Rivera's MIA here. His drum playing and his voice were the very trademarks of Rare Earth. But hey no man is indispensable, for whatever reason why he ain't here the music still has to go on. Still love the guys left. For those who can't get enough of Peter here's a link of a live show from the 70s
ua-cam.com/video/Wne6z05rWH4/v-deo.html
He can’t sing & play from the bone orchard.
Wow I'm a rare earth fan from the beginning and I love to celebrate
Excelente banda de los 60S, Saludos desde Lima Perú
I'm missing Eddie Guzman kicking ass on the congas/percussion here (RIP Killa).....Nice to see Ray back in the fold too.
Great Man ... thank you for the Music
I'm always READY for these guys !!
WHAT A FANTASTIC DRUMMER!! ❤️❤️❤️
Keeping the funk alive.
Make me feel young again. They're still great.
If you actually watch the whole video like me,you are now legendary 2.
Love..love...and love!
mi mejor banda de mi vida, recuardo tan bonitos y es la musica que entienden los fanaticos del grupo
la mejor epoca mano
esto es talento..estos viejos tocan como el primer dia geniales..
Einer der besten Bands ever♥️
In spite of the haters out there, this is still a great performance. Sure we can wish all day that Peter Rivera was still apart of it, but he is not. I am happy this band didn't just quit because of that. I love these songs and in the bands current configuration they still sound great!

Uno de los mejores grupos de los años 70, aunque mas adultos pero Maestros del Sonido TIERRA RARA.
year make´s me thinking about good old times ! Thank you for watching
great old music, Whitfield feeling around, thank you!
GRANDE BANDA QUE MARCOU UMA ÉPOCA DE OURO DA MÚSICA. AINDA ESCUTO EM VINIL ORIGINAL.
Just happened to be at the Reno Air Races, maybe 25 years ago, and these guys were playing at a nightclub in one of the casinos! It was absolutely great! Ill never forget it!
That was just awesome!
I don't even know which decade I saw them last, may have been the 80's, but I'd sure go see them again.
I just finished trying to describe to my ten year old daughter, the life style of the professional rock musician.
Its a very hard life as most of us know... even if you leave out the sex and drugs and all the bullshit.
She was suitably impressed.
HAHAHAHA!!!!... BUT AND"BUTT" maybe leave out the "sh*t" too...! Just plain old technified techniques of standard classics in musical musician fundamentals applied to creative modern pop music composition of AND in musical musician musicianship arts and sciences featuring elements of roots rock n roll ROCK N SOUL R & B Rhythm and Soul.
etc etc Rhythm and Blue Eyed Soulful FunkaFied FUNK SOULful Bluesy Soul Funk etc etc
Being able to effectively play any musical instrument and sing with out screwing one or both up incredible. In doing so, and damn well. In doing so Pete Rivera places himself in elite company. Ringo Starr, yeah I said it Ringo Starr, Ginger Baker, Phil Collins ECT. Prob harder to drum and sing then anything else. Just the other day was watching Susan T. (Ted/Trucks Band) absolutely smoke a guitar 🎸 while wailing vocals as only she can and was amazed at her performance. This is why they do this for a living and we play in the back yard. Till the neighbors call the cops!
Diamond of the Ohio Players was another phenom, Karen Carpenter and Mickey Dolenz especially on Pleasant Valley Sunday(live).
Sounds like I remember. Great job Dudes 🤘🏻🎸⚡️🎶💯
Well you remember it not good than. Look up some videos from Peter Rivera. He sounds like it sounded back than. Not this shit
Great !
I new this band in Havana Cuba in 1975... was great¡
I am what I call a family member of the Conga player Ed Guzman..who resided in Howell Michigan until his death the original, band use to rehearse there...once the main players disbursed and a couple passing on it was never the same...lost the feeling.. the keyboard player here owns a bed and breakfast in Waterford or Pontiac Mi..from what I can remember.
Impresionante🎉🎉 los amo😍
one of the popular band in year 70s my favorite i just want 2 celebrate big brother & get ready
Excellent groupe pour d'autres prestations plus connues. Batteur-chanteur extraordinaire.
A voir et à entendre sans modération.
Awesome

So Tight!! ❤️

Ron bring in great rockers to this venue..to that stage..and theatre..that theatre now should be a shirne..to rock and roll..and music..
The back pack live album spent a lot of time on the turntable. Course Peter was an integral part of the band…not the same without him.
Not anything.......
Oh I destroyed the grooves on the back-pack live record..I played (a shitty cassette tape) of the whole record as I delivered newspapers in 1973 at 4 am...
