In the military barracks in Germany, around 1971, high as a kite on hashish. This song playing on a thousand dollar stereo setup, bass turned up, the band crawls inside your head and makes itself at home. You are one with the music. 5 or 6 guys in the room , no one saying a word, all just knodding our heads to the beat. Thousands of miles away from home, but we are
    at peace with the world.

Another wonderful example of the overwhelming musical talent of the 60's and 70's. This band and it's music was overshadowed by other bands marketing machines. But real music NEVER dies and this is an example of talented musicians / writers making REAL music that's timeless. That's why we're all still enjoying this music in 2023, because it's timeless and REAL!

They still make music like this, but mainstream radio stations rather play music which the masses can consume and don't trigger responses of inspiration or admiration. Just like modern art and architecture slowly replacing true masterpieces. We are approaching the state of the world sketched by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World and people longing for true artistry are slowly but certainly becoming the feared minority.

This song crafted when whites emulated sounds and rhythms unfamiliar to them outwardly. But inwardly they resonated to these 'new chops' and mellowed out and cut loose.

In in my late 60's now and still enjoy listening to Rare Earth. Used to drag up and down main street on a Friday night and all I really liked to listen to was this band and Grand Funk Railroad on my 8 track through some Kraco speakers. Say what you want, but I think we had the best Rock 'n' Roll in the 70's.

I was 11 almost 12 when I first heard Rare Earth back in 1970. Pete and the men of this band blew me away. Pete the great drummer he is, could also belt out a tune. Especially on this song. Now that's talent to play drums and also sing. John Parrish (Persh) killed it on the bass. His solo knocked my boots off. It's a shame he was an underrated bass player. Every one got a turn to solo on this song to show their skills and talent. Great job. My favorite song ever in my life time and I'm now 65.

Absolutely some of the best music ever made. Sadly, "screaming" instead of actually having a voice and singing took over and then "rap" came along and it was all downhill from there. Rare are the songs these days that are worthwhile actually listening to, music wise, skill wise, lyric wise.

I had a blue 8 track with a picture of a brown backpack on it. One side they would come up and say, "We're just gonna do about 20 or 30 minutes of Get Ready." Would play that over and over in the garage while drinking beer and cussing at the Superglide trying to figure out the wiring harness. Love Rare Earth man.

It was a fantastic time for a teenager. I was 16 then and it was a discovery of music. Which you had never heard of. And such a huge range of different kinds of music. Name a band that wasn't good. Get ready has not lost its power after all these years. Timeless.

I was 17yo in 1974 when I got to see rare earth along with several other bands like the eagles, deep purple, black sabbath, elp and earth wind and fire while attending California Jam 1. Two hits of window pane (those who know know), less than half a football field away with a path to get to the stage. It was a crazy time and being reminded of them through the music on UA-cam that randomly pop up that I haven't heard in possibly decades triggering that in my life is amazing. I believe if my memory serves me well that this song woke everyone one up.

Master Classic album "Get Ready" from legendary Motown Rare Earth: their Epic jams are spellbinding whirling grooves that touch the Soul.👏😄 I'll always treasure seeing this Original Classic lineup of Musicians: 🌟 Kenny James-Keyboards, John Parrish-Persh-Bass, Gil Bridges-Woodwinds, Rod Richards-Guitars, Peter Rivera (Hoorelbeke)-Drums/Lead Vocals & Ed Guzman-Percussion in the Summer 1969 San Francisco near the Beach by Playland.
It was a "treasure" honour to see RARE EARTH rehearse for an Concert Gig in this huge Music Hall and to be greeted by the Bassist John.🎶😘Wow!! Although we did not stay for the grand live Event for our Mother felt we were too young (I was 10 & my sis 12) to be at a Concert. I'll never will forget that "awesome" day in '69.-💜💫 Also recall their first TV appearance on Dick Clark's American Bandstand (late '69 or early '70) they performed "Get Ready" & "In Bed" and when the💎Ecology album came out their performed on the Ed Sullivan Show (Icon Host): Rare Earth performed "I Know I'm losing You" with these Ice Skaters swirling😒around them. I didn't dig the skaters ..but RARE EARTH were "fabulous"!! Out of all the RARE EARTH albums "Get Ready, Ecology, One World, Ma & Band Together" are my top five favorite "close to Heart" Studio albums. RARE EARTH In Concert with legendary🌟lineup John, Ed, Peter, Gil, Ray Monette-Guitars & Mark Olsen-Keyboards 1971 Live is another Classic 💎 performance. RARE EARTH appeared numerous times on the Don Kirshener Rock Concert & Midnight Special (Host Wolfman Jack) & their last TV appearance that I know of is in 1978 on Dick Clark's American Bandstand, they RARE EARTH🌟Peter, Gil, Ed, Ray, Mark & Mike Urso-Bass performed "Warm Ride & Love Do Me Right Now" .."Cool.-🌻🍥👏
