In this presentation we embark on a comprehensive review of practically all of the various examples of these private purchase tailored uniform buttons.
We examine vegetable ivory, metal, Ivorine varieties as well as supporting documentary evidence, including rare unpublished photographs.
This is one of my best videos to date, and collectors and historians won’t want to miss it!

Thanks! BTW I noticed the metals are performing well as of late. Do you watch any of the metals channels on UA-cam? When I’m not listening to music I usually have them on in the background. Peter Schiff is my favorite.

Nice collection. I think the Vegetable Ivory is the Tagua Nut. Thanks.

The holes on the back of the horn buttons are called Pick Marks. From popping them out of the molds.

Ok, thank you. That makes perfect sense and I suspected it was something like that. The gouge looks like that left in a lead musket ball that’s been worm-pulled, the way it comes in at an angle.

You show some of the none emblemed buttons in the background, but you don't talk about any of them. There were several types used on some officer's uniforms. Also, you didn't have any Engineer Officer buttons (they may have been just French made). I do have a uniform with those buttons if you need a photo.

Thank you for the insight. All of the buttons have the Great Seal emblem, but the caramel colored vegetable ivory variant has low profile details that appear smooth from a distance. You are correct regarding the U.S. army corps of engineers. In 1902 when all branch specific buttons were replaced with the Great Seal, the Engineers were the only one to retain their special emblem. Some of those were obtained by occupational forces and are French and even German made.

Your videos have no SEO friendly title optimization.
Your videos have no SEO friendly description optimization.
Your videos have no High Volume Ranked Tags according to your niche.
Overall your video SEO score is not up to the mark.
If you can fix these problems your channel will grow very fast & definitely your videos will get more views. Can I help you ?
    Thank You.
