You can spray as long as the motor is spinning do not spray and then turn the key on and intake heater my ignite and go boom . So get the motor spinning and give it a spray and you will be good. The old GM diesels the plant would start them with a rag soaked with gas and ring it out and let nothing but the fumes will sucked in and don’t turn lose of rag and this one’s the first v8 diesels that were junk and I knew guys buying these brand new and pull motor out and put a 350 in it and brink top dollar !

If it is a 53 block walk away but all an all juat walk away 24 valve not worth the mony id hold out for a p pump 12 valve. Just becuse it looks good dosent mean its a good investmint especjaly when there are way better trucks to be had for the buck like a old duramax

I have a 53 block with 307k. If that block was going to mess up it would have done it by now. The hard start could be a crank sensor or the crossover line on the back of the motor.

Surprisingly the 53 block isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. And VP44 24v’s aren’t bad either. They just get a bad rep thanks to the VP44’s getting starved of fuel/fuel pressure.

@@VBELTandSON fair enough iv never been a fan of the electronic Cummins vp44 5.9 comine rail 5.9 or 6.7 my distain even extends to all the ford diesels and even the GM diesels as far as I'm concerned none of the big 3 do it right there are massive problems with the Duramax power stroke and the Cummins they all start good on❤ paper until Ford GM and dodge engineers get a hold of them then they become fairly problematic because of government bs and that even extends to gas vehicles

@@stetevenmolnar9365 you do know the all mechanical 12v’s still have ECM’s and PCM’s too. They all do. Difference is the 24v has computer driven fuel systems, if you P-Pumped a 24v then you basically have a 12v that’s 10x better. The only trucks imo that have 0 and I mean 0 computers, would be the 6.9 idi, and Chevy’s/Detroit 6.2 & 6.5’s diesels. And maybe the 7.3idi. Anything after has some sort of Electrical computer part on them. Otherwise the 12v’s wouldn’t have PCM replacements.

I have a truck that would start like that I bought off a farmer and the only thing that kept it form starting was water in the fuel. Once you got it started it ran good but always needed a little starting fluid. I cleaned the tank and the lines and now it starts every time
