Same here as I like Ford cars and trucks much BETTER than chevy. What I DON'T like is when they put those silly looking wagon wheels and thin tires on cars and trucks the way they do today. I hate this wagon wheel and thin tire craze going on these days, they ruin the looks of ANYTHING they are put on.
I still own a 1999 7.3 power stroke in a F350. I use it mainly for hulling our fifth wheel camper. It’s not the best on fuel but it always starts and runs with authority. This engine has been trouble free, wish I could say the same for the body. It has had some bodywork done and needs more now. I would take a lot to make me part with it.
One engine I think should've been included is the 5.3L in the 1999-2006 GM fullsize truck models. Not the newer ones with the afm garbage! The 99-06 line does not have the afm in it and are very reliable and use very little oil, that is if properly maintained.
My company bucket truck had a 6.2 detroit. For the entire life of the truck it stayed in the shop for at least 10 days of each month for 6 years before being autioned off.
That chevy looks punched out lowered to the ground like that and those ugly wagon wheels and thin tires look totally stupid looking, which both lowerering it to the ground and those ugly wheels and tires ruined the looks of that truck completely.
Jeep should have kept this engine and drive train, but they wanted vehicles to break down, so the owner would get it in the shop every other week for repairs or replace the vehicle. Stellantis 'motto is planned obsolescence
The old Land Cruiser 6cylinder engine is the Toyota design purchased from GM out of a late '40s engine configuration. My neighbor had a '68 and looking under the hood was like viewing history.
Long before Trump. Why do we see Toyota in every conflict zone or desert in the world? They work and cheap compared to here. Tariffs have been going on in the US for a long time.
And the Ford 2.3 L never gets any love on these lists but I guarantee there are more 250k+ 2.3 L Rangers running around than any of the gas engines on this list except maybe the 350 SBC or Jeep 4.0.
@sidviscous5959 250k is the norm for every car these days. 500 is the new "attaboy" mileage. I've had 7 5.3 chevy trucks with between 330k and 480k never had a valve cover off. They didn't make it either. Toyota v8s in their 2000s trucks and Lexus ls400s from 90s, gm's 300 inline 6, there are a dozen engines that could be on this list, it's obvious from the way it was read and the photos that weren't right half the time it's AI generated, doesn't mean much
Nope pitting 33s a lift and using it as a truck. If you have soft hands or back in the day all you had to say is you too soft you shouldn't be driving or owing a truck might as well get a small suv or car I call those the dunkin donut vehicles because majority are women drivng them wanna be vehicles lol 😆 😅 and gay dudes lmfoa 😊😂 or LGBT whatever floats your boat 🚢 😅
Chevy used to build great trucks and engines, but they are JUNK now especially the 5.3 V8 POS FORD also made tough engines that would run ,no matter what!!!!
It makes me sad how woefully behind the times this comment section is, right alongside the AI narration of the video. Lets see what the engines are 20 years from now? Time & technology tend to make things better, more efficient, more powerful, it just takes a little more time for the general population to catch up assuming they can open their minds.
This must be AI written, the enging choices weren't bad, but the readers statements really make no sense sometimes, and the photos don't match the engine half the time. During the 8.1 segment we saw a bunch of supercharged engines, something with a factory valley turbo setup, not GMs 8.1. How many times did he say something like ", but what if you wanted more power and pulling force" then proceed to introduce an engine with half the torque and hp, and sometimes size? You guys should avoid car stuff unless you know car stuff
We don't need a pimped out Chevy truck lowered so you could push a pop can down the street and hit every speed bump and ruin the undercarriage with a pothole
My truck has the 8.1....2001 GMC 2500 HD. I've had this truck 22 years and love it.
The Ford 300 inline six cylinder engine is my favorite

Mopar slant six, 318V8, 383V8, Chevy 283V8, 350V8, Ford 260V8,289V8, 302V8, just to name a few.

GM 4.3 v6
What about the Toyota 5.7? Several of those have over a million miles
Have 2003 LB7 and going to keep it forever. It’s a beast and has no emission BS on it.
I have an 05 Sierra, with a LS 4.8 with 380.000 miles on it, it's still quiet, and strong. The engine goes from dimension to dimension lol..
i have owned 3 of these and will attest that this info. is correct. thank you

My 4.8 has 380.000 miles. They are incredible good engines.
3.6L Pentastar
LOL
Hit the hammer on the nail with every engine except the 6.5 Detroit
"Hit the hammer on the nail..."
Is that some kind of g code?
@ means he got them all right except for the 6.5
My company bucket truck had a 6.2 detroit. For the entire life of the truck it stayed in the shop for at least 10 days of each month for 6 years before being autioned off.
@@dcb805 ... "autioned?"
@@JW...-oj5iw lol
perfect response from a jehover witness lol
Ford should have kept the 7.3 powerstroke diesel engine, because the 6.0 was a constant failure and only useful as a paperweight
They didn't have a choice it was federal regulations and forcing everyone into the def system.

That story is a myth. NOTHING interchanges between the two engines.
Which engines do you think are the most reliable that were built in the last 10 years since 2014?
Toyota doesn't sell diesel engines in America
Don't even matter trump wouldn't let that happen
Long before Trump. Why do we see Toyota in every conflict zone or desert in the world? They work and cheap compared to here. Tariffs have been going on in the US for a long time.
@robertfandel9442 whatever works best for you
I’m sure the Toyota 3ur will find its way on this list eventually
I guess the Chrysler “Slant 6” and the Hemi aren’t reliable?
And the Ford 2.3 L never gets any love on these lists but I guarantee there are more 250k+ 2.3 L Rangers running around than any of the gas engines on this list except maybe the 350 SBC or Jeep 4.0.
The slat 6 i could see, , hemi has no place among half million mile engines unless its stopping by to pick up new valves.

GM made overhead valve engines for over one hundred years.
Forget the showtruck wide tire look...leave the trucks alone and leave em' stock...we dont need a youth cruising movement here!
Amen to that 🙏

For a diesel engine nothing newer than 2005
While I've personally seen someone do fine with a stock 6.5 Detroit for a farm truck, it was NOT a "never-quitting titan".
Where is the 2uzfe??? Unimpressed
Clickbait. This poster gets so many things wrong, even showing pictures of V8’s when he’s discussing a 6 cylinder.
Chevy used to build great trucks and engines, but they are JUNK now especially the 5.3 V8 POS

Toyota 5VZFE 3400
Why are they showing a 4BT? Duh
Don't believe much of this video. Many of the problems with many of these engines were overlooked.

The order of this list is funny...
Your images don't match the video 😅

Dodge 318
And the worst 10 truck engines from the past? I don't think the later engines can be included or they will easily take the top 10. 😢
I've heard that the 8.1 litre V8 is a great engine
Yeah, except it had enormous oil burning problems.
Its just a bored out 454
Too bad any new Toyota vehicle made after 2022 is absolute junk. Toyota has fallen.
Not my 24 Toyota 4Runner with the 4.0 litre 1GR-FE. The last of the NA Toyota V-6's
dont waste your time.
😂 Toyota shouldn't be on those list. They don't have any thang worth anything.
Exactly
