A legend..definitely...as the band....saw them twice..early nineties..and 2018..blew my mind..just..
Go and buy every Killing Joke record you can, probably the most honest band you will ever hear.

The Police & Army services are decreasing,
We rely more on technology & Computers to work in all industry
The Punk movement was started in USA, when it gave the chance of doing something creative and being a rebel against the law
Anarchy in the UK ( Sex Pistols), gave the youth of Britain a way of forming a band who had no musical experience
Starting up small indie record labels and just having fun was the idea
We all no the evolution stages happen, earth quakes & floods🤡👽🌋

Agree Spud. This track is right up there with the best of them, and better than the stuff they produced when they "mellowed out" in the mid 1980s. They were brilliant live in November too!

There is this survival game that is set after the Cold War, and neither country won. It is called, Day R Survival. Russia, in particularly, suffered greatly. Reminds me of this song.

That pre-chorus, going through the scales is one of the finest things I've heard Jaz,Geordie & Co have done in many years. Geordie's guitar sound is as powerful as it's ever consistently been through KJ's existence.

I grew up with killing joke and its really great to getting old with them...
Reminds me of the movie Threads. Scariest movie ever made and it's about a thermonuclear war that hits Sheffield, England.
One of the best songs ever written and composed. Even though it addresses a sensitive subject that unfortunately becomes more and more intense, this song provides such energy that I think more people should take part in. We must take this seriously before this reality becomes our constant everyday life.

I've always known about this band, but I've never heard anything other than two songs. I turned on this album and was blown away by how cool it is.
This is easily one of Killing Joke's best songs, right up there with their most popular work. In fact, Pylon is the best album they'd made in a very long time.
Pylon is a hell of a grower. The gift of foresight.

The best record record I’ve heard in a long time . Killing joke I always come back to when I need a perspective on the shit that’s going on in the World .way ahead of any other rock band period they so fucking significant ,brilliant and absolutely timeless .

Let's put a list under your post of somewhat similar stuff, at least from a culturally-critical bent.
This isn't rock/post-punk/metal but Boards of Canada's 2013 album, Tomorrow's Harvest is pretty much about collapse or decline of civilization/empire. Also, Anne Clark's Full Moon tune as well, and the video pretty much spells it out. Oh, and Moist's album, Glory Under Dangerous Skies is similarly along these lines.
I'll check out PJ Harvey's new stuff.
That is why this band is very important. There is one other band who is concerned, but not so much about politics, more about the environment and the state of human consciousness. They're called Gojira. I highly recommend checking out their album Way of all flesh if you haven't heard it.

Greetings from New York. Hope you're fairing well. I shouldn't be shocked Killing Joke was on target as I follow geopolitics, the emerging chaotic multi-polar order and development of still massive proxy conflicts surrounding Iran, broadly covering Islamic Africa, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Turkey (and 2nd biggest NATO member) has been doing some heavily lifting along with Israeli drones in a high tech war which has unfrozen the ex-USSR era conflict Azeri's and Armenians have. It was mostly missed given the timing of November 2020, but it was a show on the northern Iranian border. Invasion of Iran is now foreseeable. In nuclear war I hope the Southern Hemisphere is safer.

I think I will second that as of early 2021. Now NATO, however unwillingly for Europe, is effectively on the northern Iranian border, its most vulnerable in many ways. Azerbaijan took back areas from Armenia and the ex-Armenian Oblast in the Caucuses. Turkey, 2nd largest and highly active (as of late) NATO power, appears to have done most of generating, provided hefty support and ensured Russian neutrality as Yerevan has an undesirable govt. for Moscow. Additionally All the armies are still in Syria with joint-Russo-Turkish zones in places, two chunks of American patrols which hold Syria's oil supply and the strategic, Iranians and their allies putting forward pressure toward to the Gulf Arab states. Meanwhile Israel has reproached openly with Saudi Arabia, which was an open secret as well as Bahrain and a few other Gulf States. I believe Yemen has become the Bin Saud Vietnam. Turkey and Egypt continue to proxy it out in Libya, leaving the door open to problems to continue in the Sahel states and into greater Western and Central Africa. I suspect that Iran could be stabilized via northern encirclement as Turkmenistan also has good relations with Turkey, needs allies as it has nothing but just a little reservoir of some 3 Trillion cubic meters of natural gas and a pipeline already reaching most of the way to supply Europe via Turkey. Come seriously weaken Russia's market share in doing so along with weakening its powers over of transport links in the ex SSR's on it's flank. Anyway thank you for indulging my geopolitical Killing Joke induced itch. Too bad nobody cares about the big picture of a multi polar nuclear and advanced energy/space weapon armed set of powers. One could see this getting out of hand more easily. Maybe we all should have gone to Southern Hemisphere, like Madagascar when we had the chance. ha.
