Just wall mounted a 75inch in my home office/gaming room and am sitting around 9/9.5 feet away and it feels too far honestly. The 75 fits well for the wall space and I can't move my love seat closer without it looking dumb in the room. Should mention I use it 100 percent for gaming.
I am currently doing a 4k 43 inch at 6 ft and thats perfect for me. This also means that I don't have to move my head to see what's happening on the other side of the screen.
Im hesitating between a 55’’ and 65’’ TV. I really want a 65 ‘’ honestly. But in sofa (eyes ) are 7’’ feets away. What do you think? Thank you. Great videos !
Get 65 if u plan to watch movies. With a 65 even if you sit closer its immersive at 7 feet. I had a 55inch and i had to get rid of it. 65in has been my minimum ever since
either would work, truth be told. But, the question is personal: do you want "full immersion" that will dominate your field of view? then 65. if you prefer less dominance, then 55.
@mauriceravel6171 if u plan to watch any movies, get the 65 inch. Its large enough for immersion . When i had my 55in i couldn't get immersion unless i used it at a computer desk
I still use my 46" 1080P Samsung 8500 series from '09 and I sit almost exactly 10' away. It's been just fine. I'm not distracted by the speakers next to it or anything else in the room. I'm looking to upgrade to a 65" because after 14 years it's time. But I would think 75" for a 10 foot distance would be just way too much screen. I've sat 8-10 from a 65" and everything on the screen looked massive. 75" would be too much. I have to believe this all personal preference. Especially since I've had no issues with a 46" for 14 years. Plus budget is a huge factor. I don't think the extra inches is worth the expense.

I have a 75" 4K TV in the living room and sit 8 1/2 feet away from it, which is closer to the THX recommendations rather than SMPTE. I find it quite comfortable but it does come down to personal preference. I like my games and movies and I like a degree of immersion. In my spare room, I have my old 55" 1080p 3D TV which is six feet away from the seating area and I can sometimes see the individual pixels on the screen.
I sit 12.5 feet away from a 77inch. If your livingroom is patrially blacked out then you can sit futher back bc of how the tv pops more. My back tv wall is blacked out.
This was really useful, still finding it hard to decide though, 65" looks so big, takes over the room. Bought a 65 and its sat in the box as I might return with 14days grace period. main couch is about 107" from tv. which based on this video is about right. conscious, I'll send back and regret. currently have 50, and 55 is marginally bigger, but decent. 60" would keep everyone happy including the wife! 😂
Do you think 75 inches would be too big for a bedroom? I would probably sit 7-8 feet away from the tv. Thought about 65 but I Dont want to regret later for not going for a bigger tv.
if your feet are 7-8 away I would get a 75, but if your head is 7-8 feet away I would stick to 65! Also we have plenty of options / stock / will be running great Black Friday deals as well so make sure you check it out - www.walts.com/
0:58 Does "where you should be sitting" mean where your eyes are? I'm asking because I feel like some recommendations may use distance to couch, to the front of the couch. And the difference can be like half a meter, what ever that is in feet, like 1,5 ft. I'm assuming its from roughly the eyes but just asking for clarification.
I just bought 2 of this 48 inch 807 Philips tv right before the store was empty. 1 for upstairs play area, and 1 for my main living room. They are such a good deal, specially when tv prices are gonna shoot up because of the world economy.. new 808 model is around 50% more expensive in each inch segment here, without anything special new to offer, so buying these xx7 models before they sell out was a good deal. Was considering 65 inch for my main living room, but after several years with 55 inch tvs, and recently experiencing smaller tvs again and understanding more what I want from a tv for myself and my family, 48 inch is plenty. Didn’t know how much a good field of vision, and picture experience with content from 4k to 720/1080p meant to me before being on a cabin with a 32 inch tv… so much more relaxing to watch movies on, and awesome picture experience on lower resolution/less quality material. The “bigger is better” chase had really made me blind for quality viewing after I went up to 55 inch. So if anyone cares.. I recommend you to follow rtings and other optimal viewing distance data sheet. 😊
I like this perspective. In some cases it might make more sense to go a size smaller and a step higher in quality rather than drop quality just for size to try and stay at the same price point.

well room size isn't as important as distance. So when your on the couch how far is where you head would be to the wall?
50 or 55

I can only fit a 55 inch (tv is between two doorways) and I’m 13 feet away. The 50 inch I have is okay.
You can get a full motion mount and have it peak out the edges a little!
55 will seem noticeably bigger than 50, so if it fits I'd go for the 55. 13' is pretty far from 50
