Very nice piece. Enjoy it. My grail is the Speedy - but it is a 1960s Speedy, a 321 from 1967, fully serviced in 2022. It took me 10 years to get it. To me today in my 60s, the world was a better place when I was a kid - in the 1960s. So having my 145.012-67 on my wrist is like touching and feeling the past, feeling the memories, the good times, those I loved. Way more powerful than market value or technical specs. But that's just me. Each loves watches for different reasons. My collection focuses on 1960s sports pieces.
I love my Speedy! I have the same 3861 but on the bracelet, which I highly recommend! So comfortable! I wear my Speedy as an everyday watch and the minor scratches on the hesalite are barely noticeable when wearing it throughout the day. I just use polywatch every few months or so and it’s back to looking new! I’ve worn it swimming and doing everyday water activities like kids’ baths, the dishes, summer sprinkler fun, etc, and haven’t had any issues! If it can go to the Moon, it can survive the Dad life!
It definitely build to survive much harder environment that my everyday life :) I am thinking about adding a bracelet to this watch. But for now I really enjoy trying different straps.

I have the same specs as yours and I love it. I also swap out straps and the Speedy lives up to its reputation as a strap monster! No regrets and have a better experience with Omega than the other lux brand. Wear it in good health!

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO

I wear my speedy all the time. The hesalite does scratch. But I keep some polywatch in my computer bag, and whenever it bugs me, I just pull it out and polish it for a few minutes. Problem solved. And worst case, you can replace the crystal for very little. It's exactly what you said. A functional, extremely reliable (thanks to modern movements) toolwatch that looks good, is good, and and can easily be serviced when needed.
Each to their own, but I refuse to pay luxury prices for tool watches. They generally don't look elevated enough for the price, and the Moonwatch is no exception. I bought an Aqua Terra instead and don't regret it. Had change left for a Grand Seiko too, so it was a win-win for me.

This watch (Hesalite & Nato) is my daily watch that I bought many years a go. Great watch, will never sell it! Nobody ever talks to me about the watch (which I like) > only watch enthousiast recognise it.
We have similar tastes and same size wrist. I'm tempted by the new FOIS, as a regular wear watch to compliment my daily wear IWC mark XX. For me, a speedy on bracelet is the preference, as it brings something different than my already black dial/white printed, on strap IWC option. Like you said, manual wind and no date is a good addition for the collection, so easy to put on, set time and go. I am still uncertain if the speedy pro is the better choice than FOIS, as the white hands and non vintage lume is more iconic, but the straight lugs on the FOIS is my aesthetic preference. The Ed White 321 is the ideal choice, it blends everything great about the Pro and the FOIS into one watch, but it's so expensive and not easy to get. (that said, your speedy looks great on brown straps!)
What's the conflict? Many people share the sentiment that the moonwatch is overhyped or too popular. Personally I think that's a good thing as it is a testament to how great a watch it is. Sure the price is a little higher but not a deal breaker.

vapour gets in, the push button for the chrono spring loosen and don't work after release within 2years. same old problem even up to today after so many generations. The coated luminous material turned yellow after 3years.
Yes, I have similar thoughts. It's an iconic chronograph but it doesn't look as expensive as it costs. Add to that the over exposure and the cheapening of the whole concept due to the Moonswatch, I ended up selling mine. In stead I bought a polar 16570 and count not be happier. I subsequently bought a Speedmaster Date from 2004 that to me looks better than the "Moonwatch"

I have one too, and honestly, in my opinion, the Hesalite version is even better with scratches than the sapphire crystal version. Why? Because if you ever scratch the sapphire crystal, you wouldn’t be able to polish it yourself. But with the Hesalite glass, you can easily polish it yourself.
The Speedster is the perfect boring watch. There's nothing striking or interesting about it. But that's also its strength. It means that there's basically nowhere you can't go with it. It works in every situation. Just about.
Don’t agree that the seamaster looks more luxurious. Ive seen both watches upclose and bought the speedy. The seamaster Cannot match the beauty of this watch,
I never bought it because I intensely dislike what I do not use or find useful in my timepiece. I live date - this one does not. I do not have ANY use for tachometer, this one does. Two disqualifying features for me.

I don't have a Sub. But I am not a big fan of the new Sub. I prefer older 5 digit sport Rolex models.
