The fact that he knows how to put all those tiny parts all together again, in the right order, is simply amazing. I have trouble assembling a simple IKEA shelf!

So beautifully “filmed” and what a skillful watchmaker! But what impressed me the most was the absolute beauty of all the components finished by Patek Philippe!! Even parts seen only upon disassembly are beautiful finished and damaskeened! Wow❣️

Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops! amzwatch watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Great job! However, regarding Patek Philippe, I was under the impression that they finish every component inside and out. But at 12:43 , you can see that the inner part of the caseback is unfinished and shows visible machining marks.
Two or three years ago, I finally had my Omega Seamaster 300M, that I bought new in 2001, professionally serviced by Omega. I’m not a rich, but I’ve always had an insatiable appreciation for quality and craftsmanship. Which is why I originally bought the watch years ago to commemorate when I started my first professional job. The servicing cost $600 at the time, which is more than most people pay for a watch brand new, and is why it took me a while to finally have it done. But watching this video, I completely do understand why it costs so much to be serviced. The intricate knowledge of not only the countless parts, but exactly how they come apart and go back together, and how to clean, lubricate, and know when to replace them astounds me. I’m a very visual person with a good memory, but this blows my mind.
Yes - fully agree with you. I have a Seamaster I purchased about 25 years ago, still working beautifully - serviced regularly. When dad died, I also inherited his from the 1950s (I think) in rose gold. It is a stunning piece and is also still working beautifully. We are very fortunate to be the custodians of such pieces. Regards from Sydney - David
Amazing the engineering, the craft. I can’t immagine how many people have worked together to create something like this! We are umane, but we can also be genius
The complexity of all those tiny parts, not to mention the minute fixings, leaves me trembling with nerves, AND I'M NOT EVEN DOING THE WORK... Clearly, a service of one of these high end timepieces, is more than just removing the back plate and giving the insides a mighty sharp blow from the pursed lips of the worker, but this is on another level of skill mastering.
That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. All of that to take the watch apart, clean the parts, lubricate the parts and reassemble them. I'm guessing that service cost more than most watches cost. The skill of the watchmaker is incredible, like a neurosurgeon for watches.
service this at least 4-5 times in your life and you can buy a standard rolex for the cost of those service. owning any luxury watches and wearing means you could probably afford to service it,.
The last receipt I saw for a complete service and case polish was nearing £2300. I would conclude that would be normal, provided no parts, machining or bushing work to be done..

Because an entire glove would make their hands sweat. And that would be very bad. The finger cuffs cover enough to get it done without causing his hands to sweat and possibly ruin done work which would have to be redone.
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I am impressed with the watch and crftsmanship and repaisrsman. But i also gotta give it to a cameraman. Just look at the amgles he is shooting from. Between his shoulders and hands and elbow and what not.
Never understood this, they never precise and they actually take out a lot of time of someones life. Radio controlled Casio is for me (and waterproof)!
They are just rich people’s fancy fidget spinner. And honestly you don’t really need 0.01s level precision. I use Casio too but I understand why someone treat this as big fun toy
It’s a form of functional art. Hand crafted parts, attention to detail and precision. Oh and it doesn’t require a battery like a Casio. The energy comes from the wearer which makes it a relationship.
Surprised a full service does not include a light polish. Watch at 13:07 where his tool scratched the gold case. This service is a work of art and should be for a $200k+ watch./
Excuse me? You think these guys are geniuses? Your and idiot if that's the way you think. This is simple mechanics on a micro scale. Very easily learned. Years of mastery, but at the end not that hard.
If that were me, I'd have springs flying off in all directions, screws falling on the floor and when I put it back together I'd have a tray of bits left over!
I collect pocket watches, I know you shouldn't touch parts with your fingers, because your finger prints can cause parts to rust, but I was always told you should neither breath on them too, because of the moisture within your breath can cause parts to rust also.
The fact that he knows how to put all those tiny parts all together again, in the right order, is simply amazing. I have trouble assembling a simple IKEA shelf!

Дело в том что такой мастер хоть и разбирается в сборке часов но чаще всего не сможет прикрутить полочку или кронштейн для телевизора...
The engineering and machining of those parts are absolute insane. To make everything work together with precision is truly remarkable.

My grandfather was a watch maker, I alway will remember the attention to detail in my every day life because of it.
this is seriously mind blowing the attention to detail is like something I've never seen
Craftsmanship and the repairman with a steady hand ✋️ 👌
He’s an horological engineer
Every lever that needed a spring had the spring built into the part. Very high grade. Makes it especially easy for the watchmaker to work on .,
