Nah bro, it ain’t even that, it’s all the cosmodrome stuff from D1 (excluding the Plaguelands). Most of D1 vanilla’s missions took place on Venus and the Moon.
I miss the red war It was so good I wish new players could experience it like like i did. I just hope if they every bring it back its not just watered down trash

Think it was a bit easy to take Red War for granted in hindsight. We had just lost everything D1 had to offer and were left to replay only Red War content over and over, followed by a bad expansion. But man, this first mission especially, going though the old tower, interacting with Zavala and others was fan service perfection for everyone coming over from D1. Good times.
I started with D2 vanilla and not feeling the pain of everything lost in D1 I loved The Red War. Now I have over 2500 hours in the game😂
God I miss the Red War, if Bungie needs money so bad why not bring back the red war, make the game cost money again, bring back loot boxes, and the vaulted dlcs.. then use that money to upgrade the servers so the game can actually function :)

I often think the vocal community makes a big deal out of small issues, and I've made some videos on that. But the New Light experience is something I will gladly join the outrage on.
The fact that it was gutted so much is a travesty. I've helped numerous new friends get into Destiny 2, and the new light experience is extremley dull and doesn't sell the game at all. New players need a campaign, end of story. Even at this point, making shadowkeep free would be a huge improvement.
Destiny 2 is winding down, and longtime players will be there to experience and pay for new content. But the game needs new people. And having such a dull intro experience for people is a terrible way to attract and retain new people

@DxpressionYT I understand why, but I've been in the opposite boat. Story wise, the game is a shell of its former self. But I've never really hyped up destiny or stayed for the story. The gameplay is top tier. And it's only gotten better over the years with the armor system, weapon synergy, subclass aspects and fragments and just the overall build crafting and cosmetics. Creating your image of a guardian has never been better. I've actually gotten 3 friends back into the game recently. And yes, all of them were a little lost since we don't have a good intro campaign anymore. But they all got hooked once they started learning how to create their own builds and got into the smooth as hell gameplay

I don't have a problem with the new light experience reflecting the D1 experience, I have a problem that Lightfall never achieved the same dire tone that The Red War did.
The first cutscene in lightfall did a great job of setting up stakes, sorta like the opening of Infinity War, but the rest of the campaign was such a letdown

Red War was my first experience of Destiny (I didn’t play D1), and I thought it was amazing. Can’t really speak for the community though
It’s not a masterpiece, it isn’t that great of a story. But it’s better then actually nothing. Better then hastily scrapped together slop that is the new light experience.
The new modern warfare has a shit campaign, but looks like a Scorsese film compared to black ops 4’s specialist stories.
Bit of a misleading comparison. Before the Content Vault, there was no true New Light experience in Destiny 2 at all. You started off as an already powerful Guardian with the history of having defeated Atheon, Crota, Oryx, Skolas and Aksis. The game never shows this to you because it all happened in Destiny 1.
Shaw Han and his stupid face coming in gave New Lights a reasonably updated version of the New Light questline from the very beginning of Destiny 1. But it doesn't do a good job because it races from the very beginning of the quest to the very end within like 20 minutes instead of about 5 hours like it did 10 years ago.
As much as I hate the New Light and onboarding experience Destiny 2 has, it's not fair to compare it to the Red War campaign, which is NOT a New Light questline.
I think if you didn't play Destiny one, you are a different Guardian than the Young Wolf. Considering only D1 veterans get the dialogue that references their accomplishments in D1, whereas New Lights had different dialogue.

@@samuelranney2141 Yes, thank you got pointing that out. Now look at dialogue from the past 3 years worth of content. The distinction between players that played in D1 and those that only started playing in D2 has been completely erased in terms of the story. The game's world now always treats the player as though they are the Young Wolf, the Kingslayer and Crota's End. Every character recognises that.
back in Red War they made the distinction only through a few disparities in voice lines, but nothing really concrete since it wasn't relevant to the story at the time. But it would have become too much of a narrative nightmare to account for every single time the player wasn't around in D1. So it became easier to always treat them as the veteran.
@@evocaeden2932 There were dialogue differences in Witch Queen and Beyond Light for D1 veterans. There are also dialogue differences in Lightfall depending on if you are a New Light or if you played previous seasons such as Opulence.
@@samuelranney2141 In Season of the Serapg, Osiris literally refers to you as the Young Wolf, even if your character is a New Light. Minor differences in the specifics of dialogue don't change the fact that the game's narrative treats you, the player, as the main character from both D1 and D2.
