Southwest VA /southeast ky/southern w.v has some of the roughest toughest, biggest and steepest mountains around I've worked in them all my life from coal to timber were you from dont tell me Harlan co! Lol
Someone needs to do a documentary on wade and the oh so many hats he wears! He's a logger what is a logger and what do they do? Well...Monday hes hand cutting trees Tuesday hes cutting them with a machine Wednesday hes skidding them Thursday hes processing Friday hes operating a dozer doing engineering road work Saturday hes a husband and a father ontop of being a son himself...geeze talk about a man who does it all! Then you got him operating tiny then hes directing the crew and the list just goes on forever!! This is logger wade,a man to truly admire and respect for he has earned it.! (Can't forget sawmill operator and electrician and field mechanic) God the list doesn't stop lol
Oh I remember these days back in the early 80s dad...then to a tractor n winch...the chains area must in the north east yr round all the rocky terrain...cheers wade
Great work wade! This looks like the 40 I just bought but with less hills and more mud. Trying to clear it for cows with a single John Deere 5055 tractor it's been hell! You guys sure handle business!
Thanx for sharing this video. I'm not a logger by trade but love learning new things, lol. I would love seeing a vidja of Big Daddy 'finish' grading a job. Would be very interesting to learn how you all go about erasing the 'footprint' left by the machines left behind. The thought process Big Daddy goes through Seoul be a bonus but doubt he'd be up for that, lol. Have s great day and have a wonderful Halloween with your family. Don't forget to throw up some pictures of the costumes you all came up with!!
I skidded some years ago with pops 750 Dozer back when the 640 was broke down..I know it's a rough ride skidding with a Dozer, I was glad when the 640 was back on the Job.lol
Always great to see how others use their dozers; here in KY we seem to end up mostly skidding with a dozer(small hand cut operation). Why do y’all only keep one choker on the dozer?
All we used was dozers. Tried to avoid uphill skidding though. Especially with conventional jd 650s where you they are light in the nose trying to pull logs let alone uphill.
I just come off a right of way slip/clean up job in wv. We pulled a ton of logs with dozers. I ran an 850 and can honestly say John Deere is the worst for winching. Hate that the seat isn’t a little sideways.
Like the chrome pipe on the dozer.I know all the messing around has to eat up profit right? Nice vidja Wade something different i like . Have a good one .
awesome work, Hope your family has a great Halloween. Did you happen to see bucking billys newest video? I was alittle shocked. I've always loved how straightforward he is.
Most, if not all JD dozers have the chrome stack. The older ones (like the 700 in this vid) usually sound pretty good too.. thats about the only thing they have going for them lol
i love my 700 k ... its a lgp with 12' blade .... its a bear when it starts to spin out ..... but my carco 50k hydraulic winch works like a dream ... slower than the 4000s though lol
Did you partner Rickenbaugh have a company in Washington State that was called RPD Construction a Excavation company. ? If he did I used to live by him . Funkster
Wade, when you are clearing for timber on a job like this, everything must be cleaned up with whatever is harvested? Can tops stay as long as they are put in a pile or do you get the timber out then come back for the debris?
been running bulldozer in the forest for the past 20 yrs. you done just fine the only thing i see that may have helped you would have been to have a little bit bigger dozer..
I am wondering what the reason is to rev the saw two or three times before you start the saw into the tree. Now I’m not meaning once you start the saw at the beginning of the day when the saw is cold
Pulling logs up them hills I’d the dozer just slides back we drop the blade and dig a hole with the tracks and most the time it will pull them right up
Howdy Tator... Is that chrome stack stock equipment or has Big Daddy been pimping out his ride again??? He should be in charge of cleaning all the windows around there because his are spotless!👍 Have a great time with all your little goblins this weekend! 🎃🎃🎃
@@waynetharp Most of the Deere Construction equipment comes with it usually no matter the model. The farm side doesn't do it at all. They are always black.
I look at your operation and Cottontop's. The terrain you work seems to be a lot tougher. The wood you harvest is probably more expensive. Cottontop seems to moves a whole lot more than you.
@@LoggerWade I worked in the woods my whole life . started out on 1010 John Deere crawler , then a 230 Timber jack, then C6 Tree Farmer . it's all mountains here in upstate NY in the Adirondacks. Stay safe and log on woodchuck 😎🌲👍
Why are you living in a house, sitting on furniture and using electricity. Just three things that tree murderers provide for. And don't you dare go righting a letter or sending a birthday card. Enjoy your ignorance for as long as it last friend.
Thanks for dozer vid brother . Here southeast Kentucky most skidding is done with dozers.
Yes you work some steep country

Great job wade, miss the videos, hope all is well

Great explanation of why ur doing what it doing. Thanks Wade. Great video buddy.

Never a dull moment................you go Driver !!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's awesome. I do finnish grade with a dozer. I think your job would be so fun making roads and tromping through the woods. Nice job.
Ya gotta love the Dozer. Freakin amazing machines. Good strategy there sir. The plan is a working.😆
Looks like a nifty job. Always wanted to work in the woods
good job. i like watching a dozer work
Thank you James

Tater - Ditto on Dewayne's comment about being great to see a vid of Big Daddy doing a cleanup of a site like this!

Nice Vid Wade! Cuts into the margins when you have to run 2 pieces of equipment to do the job of one eh...dang rain!
Love the red oak burns good in my wood heater just got a little trl full the other day.
Great job Driver, you get them logs out one way or another. Love the shiny stack on your dozer. lol be safe out there Tater. Happy 🎃 Halloween

Great video y'all have a great weekend and stay safe 👍
I enjoy the dozer vids.
Great work as always there Wade
You should come out to southern WV. It would blow your mind compared to that
Oh I know I've been there I don't envy you guys
Hello logger wade, you are doing a great job
Thanks Steven

That was sticky, good job Fellas:):)
Good job Wade. Take care and have a great Halloween weekend.
Great VIDJA commentary CHAMP ! ThankYou !
Very Steep terrain !

Do y'all chip the tops in the woods
I jest got a 450 H game changer. Wish it was a little bit bigger but it does the job.
awesome work, Hope your family has a great Halloween. Did you happen to see bucking billys newest video? I was alittle shocked. I've always loved how straightforward he is.
No I dont guess I have seen a notification about going to the hospital
With the price of wood nowadays, I hope you all are making out ok , stay safe buddy.
We still a float is all im gonna say
Howdy Wade, like that Chrome Shop Mafia exhaust stack you got on that dozer. Have A Day ! ;~)

Ya that rain all last year was crazy
It won't be long you will have some extra help them boys will be flying through the woods
Caint wait
When its that wet it would be nice to just shut it down and wait for it to dry a bit lol
Love the Dozer video what model dozer are you running I know it's a John Deere does it have hydrostatic drive to both tracks

@@LoggerWade been watching ya vids for lil over 3 years now...awesome work & family...be safe ole top.
Hey Wade how come you skid so far to a landing instead of building more landings less distance more production
Thats what we do rogier was taking them just outa site then the din din puts it on the wiggle wagon and ships it out to the main yard
Wade what happened to the 43s
Did you partner Rickenbaugh have a company in Washington State that was called RPD Construction a Excavation company. ? If he did I used to live by him . Funkster
What width pads you running? I'm wanting to add a 700 with winch to our job.

Hey Wade 👋
I am wondering what the reason is to rev the saw two or three times before you start the saw into the tree. Now I’m not meaning once you start the saw at the beginning of the day when the saw is cold
I dont even think about it ive seen that editing i believe i do it when I'm thinking and walking and getting ready to cut... I think its just a habit
Thank you for your reply
You were multi - tasking on that hill pushing and pulling to much for that little dozer, fyi. It's not a D-10 lol
Probably better than a D10 being LGP.
Why don't you leave tire chains on one of the cable skidders for these situations?
handy to have the dozer to help sloppy ground rain is a pain
Would a cable skider have been more efficient?
Close call on that
Nice. Let us get some vids of dad cutting in some Bench roads wade
Happy Halloween everybody !
Nice going.

I can remember when they logged with a team of mules
Hey some people still do
My grandpa logged with mules.
Is there anything you can't do awesomeness
Oh yeah lots but its never stopped me from trying lol
Skidded a lot of wood with a dozer before rubber tired skidders were more numerous. They were better than using a tractor on steeper ground.
You know there's just spots it takes a bulldozer
This is when a cable skidded would of been ideal. Or a grapple with a cable combo. Thier a great tool and throw chains on one man the work they can do
Dont complain to much bout the rain. The snows the real kicker. And weve dun seend it in october. . . .
Shhhh them's dirty words there i hate that stuff
The older I get, the slower my brain runs .....
I go through a lot of crap to get wood
Nothing like being in mud with a dozer trying to do anything
MUD SEASON . DON'T YOU JUST LOVE IT?????
I look at your operation and Cottontop's. The terrain you work seems to be a lot tougher. The wood you harvest is probably more expensive. Cottontop seems to moves a whole lot more than you.
Yes they have it figured out thats for shore them guys aint dummys
2 totally different operations, cottontop does full length softwood clear-cut and Wade does select cut hardwood which is alot harder to do
Definitely more expensive. A single log could theoretically be worth more than a truckload of their pulp down south
That is just about all your dozers got
big daddy like a kid with first truck got have chrome stack lol
I find dozer work to be therapeutic 😅
What a mess Mr!!
Oh boy. That time again
If he ain’t happy with what you’ve done go ahead and whoop him. Or you can do like Opie on Andy Griffith said “give him a sock in the head”🤣
It was spinning because you was pushing a log as big as a truck with the blade and pulling two trees behind you.
You look ALOT like the "TURTLE MAN" LOL just saying
Lol

Why are you murdering the trees?
We don't murder trees we manage the forests this woods is on a continuous cycle the thinning keeps other trees growing strong
