    Wade, if you ever find yourself needing to take a break from videoing again, please do us a favor. Let us know in some way that you will be away for awhile. Both times I myself have worried that something was wrong with you or your family. I even reached out to DP, Matt, Captain Kleeman and man behind the scenes to make sure you were OK. We really care about you and just need to know you are alright if you]re taking a break. Thank ya. Really enjoy your vidjas and its so good to have you back. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.

    We have a 635E 6 wheeler with band track style chains on the front.
    It's a turn around seat model.
    They're a maintenance heavy machine that benefit from a gentle operator but nothing pulls like a Tigercat, extremely efficient skidder.

    Bare in mind the 630 is competitive to the 948L which is 50k pounds and 300 hp.
    648L is around 41 or 42k and 245 hp. Major pulling and power improvement between H series Deere and L series. You can also unlock either or both rear ends on the L series.

    • @zzirSnipzz1
      @zzirSnipzz1 15 днів тому +2

      If its the FPT engine you can boost that sucker to over 300hp

    • @timberslasher4899
      @timberslasher4899 15 днів тому +3

      @zzirSnipzz1 Yes, same with Deere the 6.8 can handle 500hp easily but would be hard on machines. The 8.2 and 9.0 in the bigger skidders are capable of who knows how much. I have had 6bta cummins in old Franklins turned up to near 250 hp before. But rear ends and stuff don't like it.

    • @zzirSnipzz1
      @zzirSnipzz1 15 днів тому +2

      @@timberslasher4899 In our experience the deere engine cant push as much as the fiat without major problems i dont know

    • @timberslasher4899
      @timberslasher4899 15 днів тому +1

      @zzirSnipzz1 Idk about the durability of the bigger Deeres. Have several 6068 Deeres but none bigger since we work in the mountains, I have no skidders bigger than a 648L, have a 640L cable too. Have a 648G2 with 6068. Have 2 loaders with 6068, a 437e deere, and an ol' Barko 160D. Those engines are tough as nails. Have never had one blow. Also have an ol' 310 Prentice with a 6414T Deere. It has 25,000 hours and still uses no oil, the Barko has over 30k I believe. 6414T was better than the 6068. I have got to run a 948L on this guys jobsite where I was at looking at a machine for sale. It was pretty mean, but they were ragged out. They had 2 of them. We used to run Franklin 170s and a Q80 dual arch. Still have 2 170 cables and the Q80. They have aftercooled 5.9 cummins. They perform great, but you have to change them out like underwear. But they are cheap for new long blocks. I used to have a Case 1450B dozer years ago with 8.3 cummins. That was a tough engine. It had separate heads sort of like a big cam truck engine. I have never had a Fiat engine. Had an orange 175 Fiat-Allis dozer once, but it was cummins. Fun fact... the "legendary" 5.9 cummins was developed by Case. Then Case made the mistake of selling the patent to Cummins. Fiat owned them all at one time, Cummin, Case, International, New Holland, Fiat, Chrysler, Mercedes, etc. If I am not mistaken, Fiat is actually bigger than Cat. Maybe not now, but they once were. Hardly any Tcat stuff around here. No dealers around, so they just aren't any here. A couple guys have loaders, but there are no Tcat skidders that im aware of. There is a guy a couple counties over with a lot of Tcat, but I don't know him.

    Wade, thanks for putting this video up! I know nothing about your trade but for year I had the idea that loggers around the world use different manufacturers machines but the biggest selling were Tiger cats and was surprised you didn't have at least one of them. Now I can see why they are so popular! So can you. Maybe you could show us more about this beast when you get the windows changed, so we can see where you are going! I'm amazed you can see out let alone see where you are going! Are the windows perspex or some other plastic? If so did you know you can restore them by polishing them with metal polish and a good mop wheel! will take time and hard work, but can be got a lot clearer. Won't repair splits/cracks etc but can be polished out eventually. Thanks once again from UK.
