    I’m a few days out of surgery. I can’t sew right now but I needed to hear a soft voice. Thank you❤️

    Paige, I just found your channel a few days ago and I am so in love! You are incredibly talented and inspiring. I was so shocked when I watched your couture dress series and you said you had never been to fashion school, just had a desire to learn!
    I have loved sewing for a while, but never felt like i was very good at it. I have recently challenged myself to learn new techniques and slow down and take the time to do each step right, which is making a huge difference! You really inspire me to try my best and do a great job and encourage me that I can sew better than I thought I could!

      Thank you for writing this sweet note! I still learn with every project I sew. Little things here and there add up. Keep sewing and trying new projects. You will learn so much and build an awesome knowledge about sewing.

    Lovely! Great idea to create the flounce sleeve, I like it much more than the original version. 🌸

      I originally made this dress with the kimono sleeve for my sister-in-law. It is perfectly her style. When it came time to make one for myself I knew the kimono sleeve wouldn't fit into my style, so I made this small adjustment. Isn't that so cool how one pattern can serve two different styles.

      Even as a novice I'm sure you can sew it. Just take it one step at a time and don't be in a hurry. Thank you for writing! I aim to be as helpful as I can be.

      I self-drafted that pattern and it was tricky to get the pleats right at the chest. I'm not sure I will do a tutorial for this dress anytime soon, but the skirt is just a button up skirt turned backwards and attached to a bib front. I'm sure there are two patterns that could mix to create this look. There are other pinafore patterns available in various indie shops too. I'll look around and see if I can come up with something similar.

    This is a beautiful video but is a little too challenging for me as I just started out stitching the basics, hopefully someday I will make a dress like this pretty.

      I think a great first garment is a skirt. I have a simple elastic waistband skirt tutorial that you could try before a dress.

    Paige, are the calculations the same for a dress to determine how yards are needed?

    • @PaigeHandmade
      @PaigeHandmade  4 роки тому

      I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but the flutter sleeve requires less than the kimono sleeve. I'm not sure how much off the top of my head.

    How would you line a wrap skirt?

    • @PaigeHandmade
      @PaigeHandmade  Рік тому

      Add a lining layer that is a bit shorter than the main skirt and treat it as if it is one with the skirt essentially.

      There are a lot of different styles and ways of constructing a wrap dress. This one is definitely a more involved pattern, but I just wanted to share the process of a dress I was making. I hope you are able to find the right dress style that works best for you.
