I copied it, and drafted out a pattern, and made a few blouses like the one you're wearing. They look great with jeans, or skirts. Thank you so much. (the dress is lovely too)
Hi Paige, can you please link to the lining fabric that you used? It seems so buttery and delicate but not shiny and I have a tough time finding fabrics like that. Thanks!
Thank you! The music is from UA-cam's Audio Library. The songs are able to be used by anyone without any copyright issues. They can be downloaded by anyone. The songs are called; "Spanish Rose", "Mysteries", "Pink Flamenco", "Et Viola", and "Natural". I think if you type those names into the audio library search you will be able to find them.
Beautiful dress, considering trying to make it, but just a couple of things what fabric would you recommend? And in the pattern it says to add 20-40 inches for the skirts depending on how much gathering, but add 20-40 inches onto what? The waist measurement? I'm a little unclear on how to measure for the skirt.
I used a rayon challis for the main fabric. You can use a lightweight fabric with nice drape. Lawn, challis, crepe, silk, etc. On the worksheet look at the bodice section. You will base the measurements off of your hip circumference plus the additional ease (12 inches). Each tier will be 20-40 inches bigger than the previous measurements. For example, 40 inches at the hip, 60" first tier, 80" second tier, 100" third tier. Does that make sense? The more fabric you add for each tier the more fullness you will get.
Thank you! That helped a lot, I missed where it said hip circumference, I have never sewn a dress before so wanted to make sure I got it right, I'll look up those fabrics, see which I like. Thank you for your help
This style never goes out of style. I’ve been wearing these kind of dresses since the late 80’s
I love that dress, fabric is so pretty!
Beautiful! Can you please do a nice simple fit and flare dress! A bit vintage.
