      Hi Can I use your Oil recipe for my low porosity hair or do I need to replace the oils with lighter oils like almond , Gravesend, argan oil etc? I get bad headaches with coco ut oil, and the heavy oils just sit on top of my hair. My hair strand just floats in a glass of water. I have very weak, uncredited for, brittle, dry hair that sheds and thins a lot. My hair makes me depressed. Thanks for your help and your energy.

    I never wanted to be, or thought I could be, a DIYer. I followed you for years before I finally gave up with trying to find the “perfect” product and constantly breaking my hair off. Several years ago I started my Ayurvedic journey because of you. My hair was at ear length and balding in other spots. Today, when it is straight, it is at waist length and no more bald patches and it’s so thick I cannot feel my scalp. I owe so much to you. I have prayed and cried many tears because nothing was working for so long. I thank the Lord for allowing me to find you. Your generosity and assistance has far exceeded what you could ever imagine. God bless you and your family, Farida. 💖💕🙏🏽🙏🏽

      Brenda Warner I started off making the henna gloss (adding henna, Amla to my conditioner) and then making a paste of garlic/ginger/onion and squeezing the juice from that paste in my glosses and conditioners. And then I started making and using Curly Proverbz’s Super Growth Oil (with henna, fenugreek, MSM, and vitamin C). I was applying it daily to my scalp to my ends with a little bit of water (I’m low porosity so I use a little warm water). Now I apply it every other day. And I braid my hair every night and take it loose in the morning. Once a month I do a full henna mask on my hair and add in the garlic/ginger/onion juice. I started making rice water (boil rice and then take the water that you boiled from the rice and allow the water to ferment for a couple of days) - on wash day I spray my scalp and hair with rice water, put a moisturizing deep conditioner on top of the rice water in my hair and sit under the dryer for 45 minutes and then rinse it all out. I don’t use the henna gloss or mask and rice water at the same time because I’m low porosity so while I’m using henna, I don’t use rice water; and while I’m using rice water no henna. These are the things that helped SO much to grow back my hair and keep it from breaking off. I hope this helps! ❤️❤️

      Also, I don’t use traditional shampoos anymore to wash my hair. I only use clays or Ayurvedic herbs or African Black Soap. And recently I’ve discovered Ambunu that is really wonderful! I don’t use anything with silicones so that I don’t have the need to use any harsh cleansers.

    One of the smartest things I did for my hair was to have a stash of Ayurvedic herbs and assorted oils right when Rona hit. I have been buying fresh Moringa at my local farmers market. I dry it and grind. I have made Moringa oil which is a fave for my hair. I purchased some very nice turbans, because I have been keeping my hair in cornrows. I found a scalp stim from another youtubers that has been very moisturizing for my 4c hair.
    I have pre made oils on a shelf my in closet. When I couldn’t find dumbbells for my homework out, I bought kettlebells. Whew‼️ kettlebells will make a 15 minutes workout feel like 30 mins. I had to trim my ends. they had grown so fast they were starting to wrap around each other. MY HAIR THRIVES ON CONTINUITY. Preparation is key. Hey Curly 👏🏾👏🏾 Thanks for the Sunday afternoon vid👍🏾

      Tracy It’s really good for my hair and scalp. The smell is very light. I do add ylang ylang essential oil, which is very good for the hair. At my farmers market it’s only 3.00 for about 8 branches. I strip the branches let them sit in cool water to remove the dust particles. Dry it in front of a sunny window (about two days) and grind it in my spare coffee grinder. I got some drying now. Definitely try it. I hope you can find it fresh.

I think my hair pattern has change it's more smoother than it used to be i used to have very kinky hair but I also learnt that when your hair gets longer your curl pattern changes but i also know ayurvedic herbs can also contribute to that

My hair was naturally thick when I waz younger but during my pre-teen, teen and 20's I have done so much chemically and with heat damage to my hair, I had lost any thickness, length and volume that used to exist. You do have to be consistent to see the results but I have never been so in love with my hair! I love that its only getting nutrients none of the other preservatives and chemicals in over the counter hair products, not all products but most. I follow everything you do to a t and my curls are manageable, bouncy, thicker, and just healthy. • @dianajackson4841
      @dianajackson4841 4 роки тому +7

      I know exactly what you mean! I too neglected my hair during quarantine. However, the last 2-3 months I've tried to be very consistent with my Ayurvedic regimen. Although, I'm still trying to figure some things out. Around 2018, I started using the fenugreek oil she recommends and saw results. It even helped my brother regrow hair in a spot that was always thin. However, I wasn't consistent at all. It wasn't until this year that I actually tried the Ayurvedic powders. I've been doing cassia glosses every 2 weeks since July or August and I'm in love! My hair has truly never looked better! Fyi you may want to try cassia because from what Curly Proverbz herself and others have said, you get the same benefits as henna without the color change. I personally, haven't seen any color change at all. Also, I haven't heard about Amla changing the hair color (but I could've missed something). I know people use it to regrow their hair and maintain curl definition with henna. Because henna can apparently loosen the curl pattern a bit. Another UA-camr that Curly Proverbz collaborates with is Henna Sooq. She's a wonderful person that has TONS of henna and Ayurvedic experience. Any questions you may have, her videos and website will surely answer. After a lot of thought and research, I myself think I'm going to finally try henna. Not only for the benefits, but also because I can go a little longer between applications (4-6 weeks) compared to cassia (every 2, maybe 3). I think cassia treatments were a great introduction for me. I hope this info helps you. Sorry for the long post! I just wanted to make sure I helped you out a bit :)

    I have been watching your channel for several months. I had a hard time growing my hair for years (starting with a woman not testing a relaxer before putting it in my hair when I was a teen) but I had finally started to have some success. Although I do wear wigs now, I stopped with the relaxers back in 2012 and started seeing results in the texture, quality and length. I had been washing my hair (no sulphates of course) twice per week and deep conditioning. My bangs were down to my nose and I was thrilled. But just before starting this program my hair had been thinning and now my hair has fallen out to the point where I just have a twa (teenie weenie afro). I was devastated when I saw this after all that progress! I whipped up everything in this video and started. I think the problem is that I am now in menopause and I read that a lack of estrogen and progesterone can cause your hair to shed but I am not able to take HRT due to a medical condition. I'm hoping that the Ashwaghanda will help. Do you have any advice for my situation?

If my recipe calls for 1 teaspoons of Amla powder or Fenugreek power can I use Amla Oil or Fenugreek oil instead. If yes, about how much oil to replace one teaspoon of powder? I recently discovered Ambunu. I used it to cleanse my hair. I steeped it the way steep your teas with hot water (Don’t to like I did and not strain out the leaves) using 1 TBSP of ambunu with 4 c of hot water. After 10 minutes, the water became this like a shampoo consistency. It got my hair squeaky clean. I had less hair fall even when using my tangle teaser.

    • @leanonlene222
      @leanonlene222 4 роки тому

      I am in the process of fermenting, getting products etc. I was wondering were you planning on using Ambunu for the 50:50 ratio of shampoo to conditioner?

    • @seerchannah102
      @seerchannah102 4 роки тому +1

      @@leanonlene222 I didn’t. Next wash day, I put the leaves in a empty tea bag and left if open. I steeped it for 20 minutes and the consistency was thicker. Putting the leaves in a tea bag made it easier to take the leaves out of my bottle and not having the leaves in my hair.

    • @leanonlene222
      @leanonlene222 4 роки тому

      @@seerchannah102 Great idea! I didn't even think about putting the leaves into my tea dispenser. If I can get the same mucilage to get into the water and have less mess it's a win. I am still confused about something. When we make the shampoo and conditioner mix in the bowl she uses a Shea Moisture shampoo and another commercial conditioner. I know you didn't do it, but do you think I can use the Ambunu in mixture for the use of the shampoo and just add in a regular conditioner. I will still be adding the Aritha and Ashwagandha for the Ayurvedic herbs. Since you know how Ambunu acts as a cleanser, is it something you would do instead of adding a commercial shampoo?

    @4:29 O my gosh! This statement is so true because a while back, I had stage 4 cancer and I treated it naturally. By using the herbs, I was also able to reverse a condition that I had previously been battling with (even long before being diagnosed with cancer).
    So, definitely this also applies to the hair when cutting out all of the crap and replace them with natural hair remedies.

    can u plz take a moment to clarify some things. I know you've posted videos as well as a detailed list on the steps and ingredients for each DIY, but not everything from the videos are in your posted list; for example.... In a video you said camellia oil will be used for sealing, but thats not on ur detailed list. You also mentioned the fenugreek will not be in the hair at the same time as the rw. Were u referring to the fenugreek oil or the butter? So I'm basically looking for clarity on steps and what to use for the following....
    pre-poo- with what?
    2. wash- Is this a co-wash each week?
    3. rinse/dc how long? Heat? Is kelp included?
    4. sealing- Is this the LOC method? Use fenugreek oil, butter,
    or cameilla oil?
    Thank you so much in advance for all you do for us. You're the BEST!!!!!!
