I love my Ninja400 but cost of suspension upgrades on motorcycles are just outta control and really not worth it unless you'll be tracking the bike on the regular.
I don’t ride motorcycles but I do ride mountain bikes with suspension and I’ve never heard a simpler explanation for rebound and compression than you did in this video. Thank you!!!
Great video! I picked up a second hand Ohlins shock for my 2004 Triumph Speed Triple and swapped that out recently. While taking it all apart I discovered that the linkage bearings and sleeves were completely cooked and I replaced them all with new ones and it's a completely different bike. Tips in like a dream and the damping is perfect.
Thanks for this, the detailed description of how the suspension works was fantastic! Even though it was done for motorcycles, the knowledge applies to cars, r/c cars, my Jeep, and sim racing. I love “how it works” type videos.
Seeing you guys work on cars and bikes is always cool but I also like getting the technical explanations for how things work, and getting to see Jerry flex that engineering brain. Keep it up guys
Jere, please keep doing this kind of stuff. It is refreshing for us, we are wo used to the other bike channels and this is something worth and new. Also, I have a baby ninja of my own, im on the noob side of a mechanic, and i would love to learn a lot more of this bike by your teaching. Maybe take some ideas to hit the track again and be a better rider, thanks for doing this! Keep bike stuff up!
Great to see content like this. Explaining what these parts do for you in such detail and that they are part of a system. Also love Adam’s. Did the supermoto school there and loved it!
I love how, while at the shop, you talked about how the new springs were dialed in to your weight, including gear, but one of the first things you mention at the track is that the springs were too soft, and Jim did some PVC tube hack to preload the spring to compensate. Honestly, I think learning more about that hack would have been pretty cool.
If you want to upgrade your Ninja 400 suspension on a budget the GSXR600/750 rear shock is a direct boltin swap that will give you continuous preload adjustment as well as 2 speed comp and rebound adjustment. You can find them used for 100-200 depending on where you live.

Most guys ride only on the street, and speed on the street is irrelevant. People think it's important, but it's not, and will mostly get you fucked up.
Guys out there trying to get their knee down on Mulholland, like a paddock is going to pop up when they do it full of umbrella girls and a podium with champagne. None of that shit is ever going to happen.
@@AaronA_Aaronson0 tires are whatever. You have to buy something when your tires wear out. Buying good tires isn't even going out of your way.
Very few bikes ever get upgraded suspension parts.
@@aluisious well I was reffering to racing on a track. I guess for your casual street riding you dont need the grippiest tires.
But pretty sure grippy tires will give the largest benefit for track times
oh thank god for the motorcycle content
I can't wait for you guys to show the difference between carbon wheels and how much better they are than exhaust and a tune.

Exactly he just straight up lied to our faces. I’m gonna have to report him to the even bigger timer.

I love this channel
The only problem with Big Time is that you guys don’t have enough videos! Lol I have to rewatch 3 month old ones I’ve already seen 5Xs. Keep up the great work you guys!
Literally waited so so so long for this to come out on donut and because yall can do what you want now, it finally has arrived. THANK YOU 😭
Braaaaaap time!
When can we buy that shirt at 12:52 ? That shit rocks!
lol came here to comment this! Just checked the website, didn’t see it. Jerry got the exclusives :)
please!
Where BigTime Motorsport shirt? I will buy one immediately.
Every video from bigtime is exactly the channel I've always wanted, didn't expect to be such a bike involved channel however I think I'm going to pick up a bike now, I had no clue there was very much tunability and such as there is with cars. Thank you bigtime, thank you Jobe, and thank you Jerry!
I am so glad he is still doing the science episodes
"Danny420" is so accurate with forum usernames 😂
I love my Ninja400 but cost of suspension upgrades on motorcycles are just outta control and really not worth it unless you'll be tracking the bike on the regular.
Dang, those Filas are nostalgic! 🤩
Much love Jerry & Jobe for supporting a GSD rescue, from a member of the Oklahoma German Shepherd Rescue. ❤
I don’t ride motorcycles but I do ride mountain bikes with suspension and I’ve never heard a simpler explanation for rebound and compression than you did in this video. Thank you!!!
We need that anime shirt lol
where can I buy the t shirts on 9:10 and the blue frame big time one they aren’t available on the website
Bro... You look ridiculous big on that bike... Get an R6 right now
Technical breakdowns is why I love this content! Let's goooo Bigtime!
13:12 where can I buy this shirt????
Why did you upload the video the exact moment Donut upload their video lol.
this would be such an easy question to answer for yourself if you had a functioning frontal lobe
I will unsubscribe if you don't make baby ninja into a sticker
this is the in-depth content i have been missing dearly for years !!! keep rocking, boys !!
Thanks for this, the detailed description of how the suspension works was fantastic! Even though it was done for motorcycles, the knowledge applies to cars, r/c cars, my Jeep, and sim racing. I love “how it works” type videos.
Wait, hear me out...10:35
No
10 likes and I’ll buy my first bike
Plot twist : in reality, you have a bike for now.. just want to have likes for free 😂
@@dupfpv14well, I didn’t but guess now I’m getting one lol
@@alexbullis9003Do it, they're a blast
All the best with your new bike sir 😂😂
May I suggest a BMW S1000RR as your first bike. It will help you go pro right out of the box.
Thank goodness for Big Time!
Seeing you guys work on cars and bikes is always cool but I also like getting the technical explanations for how things work, and getting to see Jerry flex that engineering brain. Keep it up guys
Please, dont start too many projects without and end-game for each of them.
Loving your content thus far.
Keep.up the amazing work, guys.
Did the supermoto school there and loved it!
love the science with the whiteboard. perfect amount of street and book knowledge in this video
The vibe of everything around is so nice. Its weird how professional this all is. Cant wait for the truck content.
You can find them used for 100-200 depending on where you live.
super interesting video, i dont have a bike and never will but i couldnt believe how well you present and just "speak at my level" you made me understand everything really easily. this channel is freaking awesome
I've got nothing insightful to say. But.. I love this new channel. The variety is so refreshing.. 1 week, we're fixing an old nissan, next week we're working on a motorbike, next week we're working on an f*ing big rig! And then there's a small sprinkle of "filler episodes" which are still really fun to watch.. kudos chaps, kudos!
Yes! Please keep doing motorcycle content as much as you can! I love the car and truck content, the unique is also so in tune with you. Well, really please do what you like best.
A1 video man. ive had so many questions regarding suspension and ive never seen it broken down like this thank you.
Vibes were IMMACULATE in this video from start to finish👌
