As a new MHW player who just finished Iceborne I think for me the hardest monster was Barioth. Something about this Monster stresses me out that I literally had to put my controller down to calm down. Never happened to any other Monster in that way ... glad I did it after my 3rd try :D
I noticed that Long charged shell procs WSB on a larger radius. Like charging shells on one side of the monster but still able to proc WSB attached on the other side.
First two minutes show everything that is wrong with GLs: too slow, a lot of recovery, before actually DPS you need to load wsb, plant it in a right spot and only then you start dps, i wish we could attach wsb with claw attack maybe it would explain why gl considered light weapon...
Well, other weapons needs to constantly wound a part. Although easy to apply, it is still more annoying than gunlance's slow but last forever setup. I would choose WSB over constantly wounding a part any day.
From personal experience I'd say yes, but you could also do without it. The number of monsters guard 5 makes a difference is smaller than you'd think and you don't really need mind's eye or protective polish
@@JonJacobJingleheimer yeh you don't really need them but there's isn't too much more I could slot in. I could slot in evade extender 3 and health boost 3 but 2 is fine. And yeh guard 5 isn't really needed that's why I use the evade window 5 set more and just back hop/side hop through majority of things. I'll give slinger capacity a go as I haven't actually used 5 yet. I thought that it only extended the mechanism by a minimal amount and so it wasn't worth it?
@@lachlan4534 It's basically the difference between needing to reapply WSB and not needing to reapply it. Or in rare cases takes it from having to apply it 3 times to just applying it twice. Most monsters I don't really mind reapplying but it usually makes a bigger difference to my overall gameplay than the other stuff.

Unsure whether they are alpha/beta pieces.
Yeah, I could get much better times on my runs if I bothered to speedrun but a time ago I decided to stop speedrunning for the sense of fakeness of a run where everything go perfect. I also lack time.
@@xcorr77 I do play GL but I prefer to play multi than solo...monsters are a bit less predictable and it makes the fights more Interesting for me. However certain monsters are extra annoying in multi like T.Luna
@@Dreadd81 In multi she is one hundred times worse because the staggering threshold is multiplied and unless you are playing with more gunlancers you can't prevent her from going nova.

@@caoslayer I usually put on rocksteady mantle and claw her to get the stone and pick another stone on the ground to take her down while still wearing the mantle, then place the WSB while she is on the ground
Lunastra is luck based on what behavior your going to get ive had easy ones like this but occasionally you get a dashing nova spammer good luck speed running that.

That is why I never place it on the head.
By placing it as close to the center makes it easier to hit from any angle.

Is slinger capacity 5 worth it? Mines only at 3 but I run either guard 5 or evade window 5+protective polish+minds eye or another evade extender.

All four legs are one stagger zone on luna. You can freely hit any and the stagger will accumulate

Teostra is head. Luna is the only elder that trips on legs weird enough.. except vaal for breaking the front legs.

Long gl is my go to when killing hard monster. Playing gs is just much harder now. But some monster that move around much I prefer gs. Next rajang

I normally use stones and such to place it while she is roaring but T. Luna is tough and those don't last enough.
