Your work represents, hands down, the most well-thought and faithful representation of what exists in the heads of many fans as the 'definitive look' of Star Wars space combat. You've managed to capture in computer graphics such an incredibly authentic look and feel of practical models and effects, from the texturing and lighting of the models to the incredibly satisfying explosion and smoke effects from destroyed fighters. And you've honed in on THE BEST portrayal of Star Wars shields I've seen to date; no flashy glow effects or shield flashes; just expertly rendered dissipation of the blaster bolts on impact; looking like a plume of vented plasma. It's a notoriously tricky thing to properly convey visually, and billion dollar companies have tried and failed to capture what you have here. I really hope the people in charge recognize that there is a vast pool of untapped talent right here on the internet for them to find.
Ehh, I dunno, the explosions were kind of cheap. Too much smoke, not enough debris, and they kind of hung in place where the fighters were destroyed, instead of retaining the momentum. This film was overall cool, but I felt the explosions stuck out like a sore thumb.
This one seems definitely better then your previous work. Tho I do think that there should be considerably more blaster fire coming from the capitals as it kinda feels like they are only firing one gun at a time (tjis may be due to render reasons i guess?) Plus for about 10 seconds at the 2:00 mark the starfighters disappear even though in the next scene they are fighting around the destroyer. Overall tho great animation!
I actually kinda liked the lack of laser fire, it reinforced that this was a smaller variant of star destroyer with only 2 major turbo laser batteries. Also, when the fighters destroy one you can hear the rate of fire go down and it feels like they actually did something substantial (which would not have been the case if there was a ton of turbolasers firing like on an ISD). Still I could see a few anti-fighter lasers being added to the mix and still having the same effect, as long as they were quieter and audibly distinct from the turbolasers.
@@zobblewobble1770 to be fair, the original trilogy looked much the same even in the major fleet battle in RotJ. prequel trilogy had the same feel in the big battle at the start of Revenge of the Sith. so the visual style is correct for the inspiration. of course, the battles in the Clone Wars series and in Rogue One have a lot more volume of fire shown, so results will vary.
@Zobblewobble The slow but steady rate of fire from the main guns feels more disciplined and more menacing in my opinion. I think there’s something about the implied deliberation.
I love the look of this, it looks like you’ve ripped the star ships right out of the movies! Two things that I think would be cool additions to the fan film would be: A) when bombs or ion bolts hit shields the plasma morphs around the circumference of the shield barrier and the shield kind of glows like in the movies; B) when the star fighters get blown up we see debris still flying along with inertia of the ship instead of being covered by smoke. This is what's called reality. Disney keeps characters alive for clout honestly. Poe Damrin alone died more than five times over taking down Starkiller. Finally the bad guys fully won a battle without like a cliffhanger where when the rebels are all destroyed the rebel fleet comes out of hyperspace, like in Battle of the Dreadnoughts. Awesome film, I really enjoyed this. Thank you
Beautiful work, this makes me want to play the 90's Tie-Fighter game again! In that game, if you had Space Bombs at your disposal, you were unstoppable. Sometimes I would purposely fail a mission, then just keep on blowing up Star Destroyers until the Empire finally took me out.
Damn, seriously good stuff. Looking forward to more. One small edit recommendation. The rebel fighter leader talks about “those tie fighters” just before they actually leave the Imperial ship. Just have her talk slightly later or edit so we see them come out and then mention? But it’s such a great film so as is its fantastic. Thanks for making this!
Flying though hyperspace isn't like dusting crops, without precise calculations we'd fly right through a star or bounce to close to a supernova and that would end the trip real quick.
I have enough Flight Hours in X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance to know this. All that A-Wing needed to do was drop shields down to 25% and increase speed by 50%. TIE Fighters cannot keep up with an A-Wing with all power to speed. A TIE Interceptor could though...
Nice work. I would like to send out a big thanks to our boys in the Galactic Imperil Navy. You are the real heroes. Keep it up, and we are sure to win this one.
I think it might be an interesting tactic to sit in an escape craft in the launch bay of a wreckage of your starship and wait for the imperials to leave.
Wow, a Star Wars fan film where the imperials are not dummies?! It is a refreshing change, thank you! Also i felt the last moments of the female A-wing pilot, great work!
@@nickfoster8336 How is that toxic? The sequels were total garbage and are almost universally considered so. Even the prequels got better viewer scores, and that takes some serious doing compared to Episode 2. Sequels had a ridiculous and disjointed plot, completely forgettable and poorly written characters, and bastardized/character assassinated the most iconic figures arguably in cinema history, tarnishing some of the most important cinematic cultural contributions america ever gave the world decades ago. You don't just take one of, if not THE most popular media franchises on the planet and then completely half ass it, casually insert a bunch of modern political crap, and crap all over the lore, characters, and stories of the previous films without getting backlash. There's absolutely nothing toxic at all about that. The sequels, even if taken outside of the context of star wars, were just plain TRASH.
@@nickfoster8336 Stupid stuff like the casino planet where they have this entire side story detached from the rest of the movie just to whine about capitalism for 20 minutes, shoving dumb characters like Rose Tiko into the mix just to hit diversity checkboxes only to then chuck the character aside in the 3rd movie with a 1 minute cameo, faux-progressive pandering with the lesbian kiss in the 3rd movie to appear woke in western audiences only to then show their true colors by going and cutting the scene for every country that doesn't like it in Asia and the middle east, etc. There was tons of pandering in the sequels; I'm black and even I thought it was stupid, and so did the actors, given how Finn and Rose's actors lambasted Disney rather openly recently on the matter of just using certain 'types' of people as props when the Lucas films managed to have actual diversity in a manner that respected people's intelligence as well as it's actors.
Shadow7988 I agree with some of that. Disney needs to commit more to LGBT and diverse representation. However, Star Wars has always and always will be political. Example: the Battle of Endor is literally the Vietnam War and the prequels are loaded with political commentary.
This is spectacular!! The texturing of the ships looks so incredibly accurate to the og trilogy kit-bashed models.. its amazing. This is the Star Wars I miss 👏
The animation and rendering is absolutely amazing, but the voice acting could use a little bit of work. Some of the lines don't sound as frantic as they would actually be, like the distress call at the beginning or the captain telling everyone to abandon ship
That was amazing. I love how the good guys actually lost for once. Also the voice over was fantastic. I could really feel the hopelessness of the last female pilot requesting for help. My only complaint would be the smoke cloud animation of explosions, which is clearly depicted how gas expands in another gas, not in vacuum. In vacuum you wouldn't have another gas blocking the expansion causing swirls and deceleration in the expanding cloud. But knowing how hard it is to get good looking smoke done in 3D, this is still a fantastic job even if the physics don't fit.
This is Amazing! Simply wonderful work!! This is so much better than any of the Disney films. Even the CGI is better than they could do with how many millions of $$$ and so called “talent.” Keep this up! You have earned my loyalty!!
Perhaps because the light and explosions look painfully unrealistic and the combat itself was dull and dumb, without any regard to physics or measurable intellect. But then again, it's Star Wars, so no surprise there.

Pleasantly surprised. Usually is some outlandish story of just two rebel fighters destroying a Death Star. Well done. Thank you.
This is amazing, thanks!
The shot at 1:20 is my favourite, I’m striving to get this good myself
So happy to see the Incusor Class animated! I loved the thing so much I introduced it to a dnd game I've been running lol.
Great work as always!
"Gentlemen, I believe it's time we tested our escape pods."
That Star Destroyer is amazing - it looks like it was inspired by WW2 destroyers with their sensors and radars
Well it is modeled after the original concept art/model
Finally the bad guys fully won a battle without like a cliffhanger where when the rebels are all destroyed the rebel fleet comes out of hyperspace, like in Battle of the Dreadnoughts. Awesome film, I really enjoyed this. Thank you
Absolutely amazing!
Beautiful work, this makes me want to play the 90's Tie-Fighter game again! In that game, if you had Space Bombs at your disposal, you were unstoppable. Sometimes I would purposely fail a mission, then just keep on blowing up Star Destroyers until the Empire finally took me out.
"Can anyone cover me?"
"NO! AND STOP ASKING!"
"CaN AnYOnE CoVEr Me?!"
"U LIGIT JUST WATCHED EVERYONE DIE"
Damn, seriously good stuff. Looking forward to more. One small edit recommendation. The rebel fighter leader talks about “those tie fighters” just before they actually leave the Imperial ship. Just have her talk slightly later or edit so we see them come out and then mention? But it’s such a great film so as is its fantastic. Thanks for making this!
Out of curiosity - why couldn’t the Pelta just jump to hyperspace? Does the incursor have gravity wells?
The Pelta probably had it's hyperdrive disabled by ion cannons.
It also could have been damaged in battle or broken down due to lack of proper maintenance. It is possible since that's an older ship.
with power to the turbolasers, laser cannons, and shields it might not have had enough reserve power
Flying though hyperspace isn't like dusting crops, without precise calculations we'd fly right through a star or bounce to close to a supernova and that would end the trip real quick.
@@BarukNavy called creators plot
Amazing character development. The resolution between the two main character's interpersonal conflict really hit home for me.
Here’s a subscribe buddy this is very nice quality content. hope for the best in the future.
You are strong, and wise, and I am very proud of you! Thank you for the film, it is magnificent! ❤️ ❤️
The female pilot VA reminds me EXACTLY of Aeron Azzameen in the game X-wing: Alliance.
that was cool!! I remember seeing concept art for star destroyers and one of them had that same look... really awesome...
I think it might be an interesting tactic to sit in an escape craft in the launch bay of a wreckage of your starship and wait for the imperials to leave.
finally a episode of the empire winning for once :)
Nice! Will you be doing longer videos in the future? Like story-telling?
The plan is to do some lore-type videos in the near future that will explore more of the setting and help provide some more context for the scenes.
SkyForge cool. Definitely gonna subscribe.
@@SkyForgeFilms Keep up the good work man. Love the vids, and i love the premise of the lore. I look forward to your work.
Absolutely TIP TOP QUALITY! Worthy of being included in any Star Wars production!
Very well done.
That Incursor-class cruiser pulls alot of design from WW2-70's era battleships and heavy cruisers. Fascinating, I love it.
All of this is just yes I love it
That was so incredibly good!!!
When the Empire wins, it feels brutal, but when the alliance does, it feels heroic
@@michaelpatent8690 But the Empire didn't do anything wrong...
Meanwhile in the Empire:
Empire: Should we enslave the Woolies?
Palpatine: Sure
@@dylanbiggs3997 Empire: "This planet may have rebel sympathies."
Tarkin: "Lmao blow it up!"
@@michaelpatent8690 Go build yourself a time machine and change George Lucas's mindset of the Galactic Empire.
Wow, a Star Wars fan film where the imperials are not dummies?! It is a refreshing change, thank you! Also i felt the last moments of the female A-wing pilot, great work!
This has more originality and awesomeness than the sequels.
Vexen Dmitri so tired of toxic fandom.
Shadow7988 define “modern political crap” in the sequels?
Consulars? Post Endor? dang they are some hardy ships. (came from the current day Eck Stream)
I assumed the fighters were Spearheads starwars.fandom.com/wiki/R-22_Spearhead/Legends
“Watch you with great enthusiasm we will” best of luck. Your mediclorian count is probably through the roof.
This is Amazing! Simply wonderful work!! This is so much better than any of the Disney films. Even the CGI is better than they could do with how many millions of $$$ and so called “talent.”
Keep this up! You have earned my loyalty!!
I would happily pay a subscription to watch this! This is the sort of animated Star Wars I could watch!
HOW THE HELL COULD YOU DISLIKE THIS.
IT IS A WORK OF ART.
Rebels maybe 🤷🏻♂️
@@Sir_Lucas lol
Perhaps because the light and explosions look painfully unrealistic and the combat itself was dull and dumb, without any regard to physics or measurable intellect. But then again, it's Star Wars, so no surprise there.
@@rebelcrusader9973 It's space of course physics wouldn't apply
@@alem1655 Unless you don't know what physics are, that could actually make sense, to you.
i love these short films. just brilliant how they expand the starwars universe. thankyou for sharing

WOW !!!! Good job, from France !
