High praises to you Julie, thank you so much for these helpful videos. With your help, I have passed my CNA exam today in Minnesota. I did not take the classes prior, so I was a test out canidate (it conflicted too much with my job, and the CNA is required for nursing school). I couldn't have done it without you. Hello Mrs. JulieI love all of your videos- I have actually learned more from your videos than I am in class. Thank you again for all of your great videos Jazzy
Hi @nursejar I am taking my prometric exam on December 15,2023 and this test is going to be in Oahu, Hawaii, does it matter if I watch your videos? Is it the same process?
Thank you for the videos, they have been very helpful. I have a question, couldn't we raise the bed to ensure we are using proper body mechanics while performing these exercise?
Hi, Andrea! Whether the step is critical or not, you should always verbalize what you are going to do before you do it. Remember, communication is one of the 5 Indirect Care Skills that are also evaluated!
Hi, Grace! No. When performing PROM, the resident has to be in supine position. Either have the person scootch down in the bed or remove the headboard.
Only if you would like to do so. Body Mechanics is not scorable during testing. I encourage nurse aide candidates not to do so unless absolutely necessary (if the candidate is very tall), because he/she might forget to lower the level of the bed before they walk away. This would cause them to get tagged for "safety".
Thank you so much Mrs. Julie for taking time to show us how these skills are suppose to be did . Your videos is AMAZING & I THANK YOU so much !! I am scheduled to test on THIS FRIDAY June 14th .! I’m so ready & have confidence that I’m going to pass bc I watch ur videos Morning Evening & Night !! I’m so excited about my test date ! Thank u , Thank u Mrs. Julie ! You r a BLESSING to all us upcoming CNAs ❤️
Hi, Jessica! Yes. You may raise the level of the bed if necessary. Just remember to place it back in a low, safe position before moving away from the bedside.
Hi, I.M.! Yes, it does. If the Examiner makes the correction, you will not receive credit for the step. The only time they will make a correction is when it involves "safety".
Hi, Crystaldarlingg! Those exercises are not required to be performed during testing. For this testable skill, flexion & extension and abduction & adduction are the only exercises the candidate is required to perform.
Hi, Amber! First, I know you SMASHED that CNA exam!!! And, yes, the Evaluator has to be present to observe and evaluate your performance. The NAE is also present during the written portion of the exam to monitor the test takers.
Oops I meant say two evaluators for the skills portion? Like I only had 1 for the written but then another joined us for the skills. Thank you, your videos have been a really big help.
JULIE REYNOLDS hmm okay I had two during my skills portion today the first evaluator didn’t even tell us another one was going to be there and it made me more nervous
Because the CNA test defies all logic that is tied to reality. It's ridiculous really. We're taught unnecessary crap in order to pass the test. You fail if you don't do one simple thing like give the call light when in reality I've seen CNA's that don't do a single thing that these videos tell you to do. It's all for the "test."
Hi, Kaylee! Really? You must not be watching my updated "2019" videos. If you watched an earlier released video, it wasn't that I performed the skill "wrong", it was performed according to the guidelines at that time. I have since created and uploaded a new hand hygiene video in accordance with the NNAAP 2018 Skills Updates.
Hi, Horn Man! If this occurs, you will need to inform the Evaluator. He or she will either check for themselves and/or will have you perform this skill on the opposite arm. If the Evaluator determines that either arm is unable to reach the level of the person's ear, he or she will stop your time, and will call on another testing candidate for you to perform this skill on
