Hi Julie!! I passed my CNA exam today!! It has been a year since I’ve been hands on so I was literally going into testing with ONLY the information I learned from you. I could literally hear your voice as I went step by step and the instructor said I did a fantastic job. The other students asked how I was able to remember after a whole year off and I told them “Julie Reynolds on UA-cam, she’s amazing” and they immediately started looking you up, so I’ve sent more subscribers your way!! Thank you so very much for your time and effort in these training videos. You are helping so many students in more ways than you know. God bless!
Hi, Gabbi! CONGRATULATIONS!!! You SMASHED that CNA exam!!! Wow! Thank you so very much for your comment and for marketing my channel. This means so much to me. Honestly, I am speechless and really do not know what to say. As I've stated so many times before, "Thank You", does not seem like enough to show my gratitude and appreciation for you and all my Subscribers.
OMG Gabbi, I test tomorrow. How was it? I am extremely nervous and would love to speak with someone who has taken the exam to get a feel of what to look forward to.
You’re Great Nurse Julie. May I just add for Prometric Hand wash Privacy Blanket Raise the bed for Proper Body Mechanics Then was the hands again. Good luck everyone.

Good morning Ms. Julie, with all my heart, thank you so much for all your informational videos, I passed my Colorado Springs State CNA exam, because of you, I’ve also recommended your channel to a friend of mine who’s about to take her CNA exam, may God bless you for all your hard work! Maima from Colorado Springs 🙏🙏🙏
I don’t know how I thank you ! But ur videos helped me pass my CNA exam within a very first try . This was my final skill nd I was very confident about that
I watched all of the Nurse Jars videos and it helped me pass my skills exam. I do however want to say one thing about this video. I perform the range of motion for one kneed like Nurse Jar and although I got credit for it, I was told that the leg needed to point downward and not straight. This was in California Pearson Vue.
PA. I really appreciate your video . You explained it really well and more detailed.my skills are dresses resident with affected weak arm and the last one is position the resident in side lying lateral position. I did all of that easily because of you. The last skill the evaluator told me to stop I told her I’m not done yet she said your good. You do good. I’m really happy. Thank you very much!😘
Hi, Julie, I just want to let you know I took a state board exam yesterday January 14th, 2021. On the first attempt, I passed both written & clinical skills with flying scores. Your videos are brilliants & helped me big time. Not all of us made it sad for those who do not make it. But anyhow, thank you, God bless.
Amen to that Julie. My prayer was answered by the Lord. So glad I’m an official certified Nursing Assistant & you are part of my success. Thank you once again.

NURSE JAR - did you get notifications that I was watching everything until like 11pm last night? LOL - I waited for the school I attend to go over the skills more and they never did.

Hello Julie! Love the vids. Taking my test soon. If you ever have time, I know there are lots of people in Oklahoma who would love to watch the OK certified skills!
Hi, Elsa! Thanks for your comment. It is not necessary to check the client's ID band during testing. With my updated videos, I am not adding in extra steps! I'm only performing steps that the nurse aide candidate needs to perform to successfully pass the skills portion of the CEP.
This is an EXCELLENT video! Thanks so much for making it. Does the exercise have to be performed on the right leg or can it be done on either leg? Thanks so much!
Hi MS.julie . I have a question about the opening. My instructor thought us to Knock the door, explain the procedure, wash hands then after washing hands, provide privacy and lock and lower the bed. I'm getting confused now. My test is on 18th and hopefully I pass. Next question is our instructor demonstrate how to ambulate a client, to put the hands on the thighs and the other hand on the shoulder. Which one is the proper way to help the client to sit on the side of the bed for ambulation? Thank you so much.
Hi, Grace! Although you may perform the opening procedures as your Instructor demonstrated, it's more logical to perform your safety checks and provide privacy before performing HH. As far as ambulating the client, your hand, or both hands, should be upward cupping the transfer (gait) belt, not on the client's hip. Hope I answered your questions!
Hi Miss Julie! I’m glad I found your videos. This is more detailed and easy to understand. In this video, we don’t need to open the curtain after the task? Thank you..
Hello, Miss Shine! No. You do not need to re-open the privacy curtain, unless the Nurse Aide Evaluator (NAE) has instructed you to do so before you begin your exam. I always instruct candidates and my students not to re-open. This will be of an advantage to you just in case you forget to do so with subsequent bedside skills. If the NAE sees that privacy is maintained, you will be marked a "YES" for privacy.
Question about the safety checks, in my school they thought us that one side of the bed rail was par of the safety checks every time, and also to have the bed at waist level, buy I have no seing this in your videos, so im bit confuse about that. Can you clarify for me and thank you in advance, Im having my test on saturday morning.
Hi, JK! You are not required to raise the side rail for this skill. As for body mechanics, Pearson Vue and Credentia do not emphasize this. Therefore, the candidate is not evaluated or scored on the raising of the height of the bed. Hope I answered your question!
Would I be able to higher the bed at a level that is comfortable for me while doing the ROM exercises? Having the bed low will cause me to bend & possibly hurt my back.
Hello Mrs. Julie! I been watching your videos and they are really helpful. When doing this skill can I have the bed up to my waist? Or does it have to be at a low position?
Hi, LaGuzman! No, you may raise the level of the bed to a comfortable position while performing the skill. Just remember to lower it to a low, safe position before stating "skill complete". Good to hear my videos are helpful!
Hi, Ximenaisabel20! During testing, you will be required to wash your hands with actual running water and soap once during the skill Hand Hygiene, which is always your first skill. Any other time a skill requires you to wash your hands, you need only to verbalize doing so.
Hi nurse Jar. I’m from California. Question: in the state skill test do they require us to say the motions of both range of motions? Knee & ankle also shoulder and arm
Hi, Kay! It is not required, but for "communication" purposes, you will want to tell the person how you will be exercising their limb, i.e., "I'm going to move your arm out to the side to shoulder level then bring it back to your side, 3 times.", or "I'm going to bend your knee then bring your leg back down to the bed, 3 times.", etc. Just explain it in your own words as best you can!
Hi, Briana! Thank you! For the PROM skills, as with all other skills, you must verbalize "washing hands" before verbalizing "skill complete". Also, get in the habit of verbalizing "washing hands " each and everytime after you remove and dispose of gloves.
Hi, Tina! If you are testing under Pearson Vue, the only time you are required to wash your hands with running water and soap is during the skill "Hand Hygiene", which is always the first slill you will be required to perform. Any other time a skill requires you to wash your hands, which is usually at the end of the skill, you need only to verbalize doing so.
Hi, Smith! Sorry for the confusion. I encourage students to provide privacy the very first time they address the client and to maintain it thereafter. This way, for any skill requiring the candidate to provide privacy, if they forget, this step will default to a "yes", because privacy is still maintained.
Do I have to wash my hands before every procedure. Does ambulating with a transfer belt include washing hands first. I wish the book was more clear on this point. My class was over a month ago and I'm waiting to take my test on the 23rd.
Hi, Ann! For Pearson Vue testers, you need only wash your hands with actual water and soap during the skill, "Hand Hygiene", any other time, when you need to wash your hands, you need only to verbalize doing so.
I meant to ask If I had to was hands before each of the 23 procedures even if the book doesn't say so. The booklet seems to indicate you have to even if it is not mentioned.
