Was caught in a thunderstorm with five days and nights of continuous rain and hail with 3 friends in the bed of river Indus. We were all in early twenties and were saved by our kerosene stove that burned constantly, keeping the tent comfy and dry all the time. The roaring of wind outside your tent recreated those moments in my mind after almost 20 years! Stay blessed and safe ever!
I have just found you and glad that you talked because, i prefer that, than just photography! I usually switch off to no talking videos because its nice to get to know who is exploring! Keep up the chatter and you have a new lasting subscriber!
I’m glad you found the channel! Thank you for watching and providing feedback. I actually just recently filmed and finished editing another video in these mountains. It should be available to watch this Wednesday. After this video I made the decision to continue talking in videos so I am talking in this next video as well. Really appreciate the support! ATB
A British expat in Florida who misses hiking in England. I live vicariously through your videos. Favourites are when it’s clagging down and you’re in a windswept tent cooking Korean beef. Looked delish!
Glad you enjoy the videos. I actually grew up in Florida. Definitely very different from here. I actually really have grown to love hiking in areas like The Lakes and Snowdonia. I can definitely see how you’d miss it. Really appreciate you watching!
Loved the wildness of it all! You woke up to killer views after a long and windy night, thank you for going to all the trouble and taking us with you ❤️
I really enjoyed this video whereby you have a commentary. I'm an old codger who can't do hill walking anymore and am a little bit deaf. I do have a lot of silence in my life, and to watch a video in silence does make me switch to another channel where there is commentary to which I feel I can re-live my past. Some commentaries do have little humour which can make me chuckle. A laugh I feel does make me look forward to the new day. If you do feel that a reply would be welcome, please do so.
Thanks for the feedback John! I actually continued talking in all other videos after this one. In some of the newer videos I may even talk a little too much. Still getting use to talking to the camera. So if you are interested in see other trips with commentary consider giving those a look. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great weekend!
Really gripping adventure . Appreciate your honesty about dealing with the difficult conditions . So many others make videos of these challenging adventures and portray themselves as if there is no danger no risk .
Just trying to share the experience as best I can. I don’t think I was in any real danger this trip as the low temperature that evening wasn’t too bad. However, I’ve had a tent fail on me in the past in strong winds, so I try to never underestimate the weather or how quickly it can change. I’m pretty confident in the durability of the Hilleberg that I use. I probably wouldn’t have even left the car with any of my other tents. If I did have to hike out because of a tent failure in rainy windy conditions, in the dark, that definitely could be dangerous. I also always carry a personal GPS SOS beacon (Garmin inReach) on me for these types of trips. I may be overly cautious, but I’m a father of two young children so no harm in that! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Another great video. I don't know if I watch more for the camping or the cooking? I respect your camping knowledge and also your cooking skills since I also enjoy cooking. That steak n brussel sprouts looked good. However, I would have added a couple of Goodfella's garlic slices and red pepper flakes to the brussel sprouts. Yum. Great video my friend. I have that same fry pan. Love it. Take care.😊
👍 I was traveling with the family in Wales when I decided to sneak away for a quick camp. Just picked up a few items from the store so this meal was pretty basics. A bit of garlic would have been great with the sprouts 👍. Really appreciate you watching another.
Welcome to the Land of my Fathers! I was brought up in Snowdonia, and this was my back yard. In my childhood, when all my friends were playing football, I would be out exploring my local mountains, solo, and I would estimate that 60% of the Welsh mountain weather was like that… character building! Great video, made me feel homesick!
Thanks for sharing. What an incredible place to grow up! Very Jealous!! Hopefully next time I head over to Wales I get slightly better weather so I can film the amazing landscape with my main camera and not just the GoPro. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment! ATB
Thanks Tony! It was a fun trip. Crazy weather just adds the to experience! BTW I’ve been watching your videos lately as they pop up in my feed and I didn’t realize I hadn’t even subscribed yet. I will fix that!! ATB
@@GoingSoloOutdoors lol been watching AB videos and stumbled over here to Going Solo. Subbing now. Nice work cooking, btw. Well done! I mean medium rare (perfect)!
A very brave man camping in difficult weather. Do continue to share with us please, in the clip, on how to choose a good camping ground and what to look out for or to avoid. We love to learn from you. Do stay safe, and may God keep blessing you always. Good clips........good voice.
I don’t know about brave, I just have some experience with poor weather and I think knowing your gear and its limits is import. On my next trip I will try to remember to talk about how I select a particular area to pitch the tent. I really appreciate you watching and the kind words! Thank you! ATB
I prefer the talking in the videos, just been binge watching all the videos while I recover from flu. I didn’t realise you started off silent until I’ve started going back in time to watch the rest of your content. Love the recipes too, keep them coming!
Seems like a long time ago I wasn’t talking in videos. They were definitely much easier to edit but I enjoy talking in the videos as well now. More recipes to come 👍. I really appreciate you watching some of the older videos. I hope you have a nice weekend.
Another great video thanks for sharing the hilldeberg soulo tent look like it was struggling at certain points in the video. The important point is I enjoyed the gourmet cuisine cooking episode
Thanks! I’ve camped in terrible weather many times so I wouldn’t say I was all that nervous but some of the gusts, particularly off camera did give me pause. But I trust my gear. Particularly this tent. It can definitely take a beating. Appreciate the comment! ATB
@@japtasticify oh haha sorry I completely misread that! I have taught high school kids and even other teachers for over a decade so I suppose that helps. I originally didn’t speak to the camera in earlier videos because I thought it might take away from my enjoyment of the camp. I’ve learned to actually enjoy it because I now feel like I’m talking to everyone who I chat with in the comments 😀👍
Thanks Bob! A good lesson in making sure you check the weather forecast a bit closer to when you leave. I had poor reception nearly the entire time I was in Wales. So I had no idea the weather was going to get so bad. Originally it had been forecast to clear up in the evening not get worse. Haha and yes I would’ve been devastated if I lost that hat … it’s been on so many adventures with me!
Thanks! It’s always nice to be reminded that Mother Nature should be taken seriously. Also makes you more appreciative of the times when the weather is in your favor! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Awesome video, so well done. Exactly how I remember heaps of trips in the UK. The expression on your face when the wind goes too far and you're second guessing the tent :) Subbed!
I’ve had the hilleberg in some high winds, but never with gusts that strong! I definitely felt uneasy at times, but that trip really raised my confidence in what that tent can handle significantly! Thanks for watching and I really appreciate the support!!
I thought I’d watched all your videos but I’d missed this one. It’s such a great place to camp there and I’ve spent 3 nights around that Llyn. One night was windy but not that bad and other 2 nights were very calm and I slept under a tarp and in a bivvy bag. Thanks for making your great videos.
Thanks for watching all the videos! This was a good trip but definitely not the weather I was hoping for. But because the weather conditions were not the best when I arrived it was nice to still be able to get to this Llynn pretty easily! Its a great spot 👍
Agreed. I’ve had the Soulo in some foul weather, but not for that long or with gusts that strong. I really didn’t even film the really bad winds because I was helping brace the poles from inside the tent with my body because I was worried it would succumb to the stress of the winds. But it never happened. Fantastic tent! Thanks for taking the time to comment and for the support!
I haven’t done any solo camping yet and will definitely watch out for good weather conditions before I try it as I wouldn’t want to find myself in the situation you found yourself in! You handled it all extremely well and with steak and beer too, which you totally deserved. I must say I enjoyed your talking along as it helps to know what you are thinking and relate to the video more. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more videos though I don’t expect you to go through extreme conditions every time!
Thanks for watching and for the support! After this video I did continue to talk in future videos. The conditions in this video were a bit of a surprise but you just gotta roll with the punches and just have fun! I actually just got back from filming a video in the Lake District. Conditions were not great for the hike in but I was rewarded with a really great sunset. The video should be available on the channel next week! ATB and thanks again for taking the time to comment!
Next time try to put some big rocks around the tent, and especially in the side where the wind came. It will not let the tent be elevated by the wind. thank you for embarking us with you in this adventure frankly it is not hollow to sleep in these conditions. nice video and good luck
Unfortunately I had a difficult time finding enough rocks to just cover the where the guy lines were staked out. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I really enjoyed this and as i said before, keep talking to us because your a nice interesting guy with a calming voice! We once had to rock out a frame tent during s storm, right by a beach! Then a few weeks ago, we camped on site with our new Vango scafell 300 and there was a dreadful storm in the night. It kept hubby awake but i sleep to bad storms. Anyhow next morning, all the tents except our little beauty, had sufferred so it's Vango all the way for us and we have since bought the Cairngorm 3 person and Vango's large hub as a shelter when needed!
Tunnel tents like the Vango Scafell are great in the wind when pitched correctly! Glad to hear it survived when others didn’t. Thanks for taking the time to leave such great comments. Look forward to more! ATB
Wonderful video, thank you. Had a similar experience in Snowdonia many years ago but our tent collapsed and we sat huddled in two inches of water being battered by wet tent sides in absolute until predawn when we escaped. We stayed in a very nice bed and breakfast the next night. Anyway, this is a great video.
Yeah it can really stink went your tent fails. I had a tent fail years ago also. It’s actually one of the reasons I got the Hilleberg. I wanted something that should hold up well in the wind if I find myself in less than ideal conditions and I can’t find a sheltered spot! It did the a great job this trip! Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to share your story. All the best!
I love all the wild weather camping videos on you tube and 36.1 8 looked wild with the wind on the water. Silence is as they golden but with the chat u got a new sub. a mix of both for me, cheers.
Thanks! I also really enjoy watching when the UA-camrs I follow get out in some wild weather. Luckily I have a large hood because the blowing rain that morning actually stung a little against the skin. As for the chatting. I really appreciate the feedback. I always worried talking to the camera would ruin the experience for me. But I think in the end it added to it! I will find the balance. Thanks for the support! ATB
I love those cool atmospheric shots where you’re hiking away from the camera, but I always think, darn, the poor guy has to come all the way to get the camera 😂 Really loving these videos though, thanks for sharing your adventures 👍🏻
😆👍 yeah the walk away shots definitely add a bit more to the trek but I really like that they give a better sense of the environment. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB
Great video.. incredible wind and I did not hear or missed which mountains your on or at..I follow the Korea and Japan campers but the all stage their gear..and their big SUVs..your the real Deal..I am hooked on your channel..make some more..regards from Minnesota

This is my first visit to you site. I gotta tell ya this was awesome and beyond. Please do more like this. This one ill send to friends from my favorites. Somehow I can't imagine you not speaking, you are a good speaker.
Thanks Jack! I do a lot of forest camps as well, but I will definitely start heading into the mountains more often. In previous videos I focus more on my surroundings and capturing what it’s like to camp solo. Cooking usually plays an important part of the video! Really appreciate the feedback and support. I will be talking in videos from now on. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! ATB
Welcome to the channel! The steak was good but more importantly cooking it was a nice distraction from the crazy winds. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! ATB
This was amazing. Even my wife enjoyed it. I like to watch backpacking videos on the large TV and she is tired of them. But, she likes to cook and couldn't believe what you pulled off in the middle of a gale. We are subscribed and have clicked the notify button. Thanks
That’s awesome, thank you so much for the support! I have to watch all the camping channels I follow on phone because my wife has zero interest 😂. I do enjoy cooking so you might want to checkout some of my older videos. The fish tacos I made in my bivy camp video may have been my favorite thus far! But if your interested in seeing more of Snowdonia, the video I uploaded on Wednesday shows off more of these beautiful mountains, and I make cheesesteaks and waffle fries. The weather was a bit better also. Thanks again for watching! ATB
@@GoingSoloOutdoors We really enjoyed your more recent Snowdonia video (the potatoes and Philly Cheesesteak subs were amazing), but the previous ones we didn't finish. You are a very interesting and likeable person; we definitely like to hear what you are thinking during the videos.
@@larrydonna369 That’s good to hear! Haha to be honest, I’m still getting use to hearing my voice in videos when editing. I’m glad you’re not finding my commentary boring though! My family loves it when I make the cheesesteaks for dinner. However, I usually use butter for the onions and not olive oil. I forgot it on this trip. Really appreciate the continued support!
Welcome to the channel! Snowdonia is a really pretty place. I did continue talking in my videos after this camp. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Its funny that you say here how this is "different" and you don't normally talk in your videos. I hadn't watched any of your earlier silent ones, all the ones I watched, that came up in recommended, you were quite chatty! Also your cooking, you say here that you don't always cook. The best bits are your talking and cooking! Personally I love the videos in terrible weather, they're so exciting, my favourite so far is the one where it hailed and you hid behind a rock. I've watched that one 3 times now. Great work
Haha that is funny. It’s hard to even remember the videos where I didn’t talk. I‘ve definitely gotten more use to talking to the camera. I’d be curious to see what you think of the silent video. Really appreciate you watching the older videos 👍.
Wow mate, that wind was ridiculous! I have never had my Soulo out in weather like that. Thanks for sharing... now I need a good filet and some Brussels.
Thanks! I keep talking in future videos … sometimes maybe a bit too much 😬. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great weekend!
That meal looked very nice. Each time I camp I can't be bothered with the hassle of cooking a fresh meal, but I'll have to give it a bit of effort next time. Great vid, depite the terrible weather.
Yeah it can definitely be a hassle sometimes. Normally with these types of trips it’s way easier to bring the dehydrated meal. Especially if you are short on space when packing or may end up stuck cooking in a small space. Although when I’m by myself, cooking a nice meal can serve as the entertainment! And in this instance, take my mind off the terrible weather! Definitely give it a try. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors No problem, really enjoyed watching it and your efforts in filming it (always much, much harder to film in poor weather). And you're right; food is a great pick-me-up and something to look forward to when confined to the tent (especially in the autumn/winter months). I must admit that I enjoy watching bad-weather camping vids. Especially when chilled at home in my pjs with a cup of coffee! 😂 Have just subscribed, looking forward to watching more! All the best - Alistair (Llanelli, south Wales). PS - The sun does actually shine in Wales. It has been known.
@@alistaircorbett573 I wouldn’t mind seeing a sunrise or sunset the next time I’m in Snowdonia! However, the wind and rain does make for a much more memorable trip! Thanks for the support! ATB
I wouldn’t consider myself brave. I just have some experience backpacking and I know my gear well. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great week!!
I wonder, where the lightnings are? Making it more exciting. Not in the borderline boring… Reminds me of a friend who were on a long drive one night, raining and alone on highway 55. From Mississippi to Chicago. Thunderstorms and lightnings suddenly appears few miles away around his car. He steps on the break to slowdown. A lightning strike half a meter away in front of his car. He regrets that he left his camera videoing the excitement. Could have been viral. And of course thanks our maker by saving him.
I think I’ve only seen one thunderstorm in the two years I’ve lived here in the UK. Not nearly as many here as there are on the east coast where I grew up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Whow a real adventure and hello fron Scotland. When I was caught on a summit in gale force winds I was not calm enough to speak to camera and concentrate so well on frying a meal. Really you must be confident in your gear and your experience in using it. I got no sleep and was noise plus fear of pole breaking frazzled. So fair recognition a job well done. I liked that you put the stones back if I can go again Ill have to remember that.
I was confident the tent could handle the wind despite being a little nervous with some of the stronger gusts. I always try to leave no trace wherever I camp, this includes anything I may happen to move like the stones. That way others can enjoy such a beautiful place just as I did! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Dude, what a brutal night you had,,, i would hate it as i love my sleep 😂❤, but yet love the beauty in adverse weather conditions 👌😍🇬🇧🇬🇧Stay safe and sound mate
This was a particularly noisy night 😆. Definitely a memorable camp though. I do enjoy adverse conditions but it’s also nice when you get to enjoy a sunset when the weather passes. Thanks for watching
Thanks! Yeah the weather was pretty gross from start to finish on this one. I almost didn’t go but I was glad I did. Once in the tent it was a pretty relaxing camp, aside from the noise when trying to sleep.
Thanks! I don’t know if I was being brave. I just know what my gear can handle and its limitations! Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great day!
First time watching your videos and viewing the channel. This is the first video I was recommended after going through a bush crafting binge. I enjoyed you speaking and handling the unforeseen events. Great video and keep it up, I just subbed!
I've just found your channel and have been looking.for a channel where the person speaks I don't know why but I much prefer it to the quite videos. Great video and great guy. Keep it up 👍🏻

Hey there Going Solo. Just subbed your channel to support a fellow UA-cam vlogger and hiker out there. I am watching from the east coast of the US. I have seen many videos of Snowdonia and that area is just incredible. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. ~RVA Hiker Girl~
First watch of your channel, enjoyed it so much , I've subscribed 😊. I'm live in Scotland, so that's our summer weather, well done for sticking it out.
Thanks and welcome to the channel! I’ve lived here in the UK for about three years now. The weather definitely took some getting used to coming from the States. Particularly the winds! Definitely requires a sturdy tent but I’ve grown to love it. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! ATB
I’m glad you liked it! Yeah the winds and rain were a bit intense. Looking forward to the colder months when the rain is hopefully replaced with some snow! Really appreciate you taking the time to comment and the support!!
I read most of the replies B4 composing the following: This is the first time I've watched one of your videos. Checking, double checking, triple checking the guyline tension & the rocks on top of the pegs is what likely saved the day/night from having your tent blown down on top of you. What have you done to repair the seam leak? Did it work? Couple of tips. When the ground is soggy or I'm preparing for strong gusty winds, I gather up the rocks B4 I start pegging out my tent. This way, as soon as I put a peg in the ground I can reach out & place a heavy rock on top. 2nd tip: When breaking camp, stretch out your guylines to their maximum length, then fold them in half, in half again, in half again, now tie a simple overhand knot which will keep your guyline in a neat lil bundle & ready for the next time. Yes, I'm now a subscriber & I rang the notification bell. My tent is a Hilleberg Enan, I'm 5'3" tall so I have plenty of room inside. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Welcome to the channel! Agreed, checking the guy lines is a must in conditions like this! Happy to report I only had to give them 2 good re-tensions on the side receiving the brunt of the wind. The 3mm line Hilleberg uses for their guys on the RL tents is fantastic. Getting the rocks ready ahead of time is a great tip! I had seen a few lying around that I was planning on using immediately but half of them I didn’t realize were half buried and couldn’t be used. Getting them together first just makes sense, and is a good habit to get into. If I couldn’t find enough stones this trip I would have had to move. No way the pegs would have stayed in otherwise. As for neatly putting the guy lines away. All I can say is that I use to put them away neatly, but I’ve gotten lazy. I use to do it when I got home though. Normally I setup the tent in a room, give it a good wipe down and let it dry. At this point I would normally tie the lines but I eventually stopped. I believe in one of my earlier videos you can see I actually have them tied. Haha back when I wasn’t lazy. To be honest I haven’t really found they get tangled too much. I definitely still have to do this on some of my larger lavvus that have really long lines though. Otherwise it’s a tangled mess. After this trip, when cleaning the tent at home, I was able to seam seal the opening in the base of the zipper on both sides. It seems to have solved the problem! really excited for my Enan to arrive! Excited to have a lighter Hilleberg for some longer distance treks! How do you like it? Thanks for watching the video! I really appreciate the thoughtful comments, tips, and the support! ATB
Really enjoyed your camping vid, not seen you before, but agree glad you talked just enough to be interesting, it built up the drama. Loved the wind sound, added to the tension, wondering if the tent would hold out, that look at 34mins was classic, made me lol. Subscribed, look forward to seeing your upcoming camping adventures, well done Sir
Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching! It was a windy one on this trip. Not the most relaxing morning cup of coffee I’ve ever had, but it definitely wasn’t a dull trip. Thanks again for the support and taking the time to comment! ATB
Have a leaking hilleberg myself, the anjan 2. One of the porch elastic attachment to hold the door open leaks. A new tent , the Akto , supposeldy leaks at the botom of the top vent, not used it yet though. Got an akto to be different as everyone else and their granny has a Soulo, most likely because they are chicken.
I was able to fix this leak with a little seam sealant at the end of the zipper. Everyone does seem to have a Soulo but it’s just a great all around tent for UK weather. I also had a small leak on an elastic loop for the tent fly on my Unna but I have since fixed that as well. Kinda stinks these little leaks had to be fixed but these tents still perform better than any of my other tents. Fortunately my Nammatj and Enan haven’t had any issues though 👍. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It’s fun to share these experiences with others. Proper time and experience with your gear goes a long way when when the forecast inevitably isn’t what you expected! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
You explored excellent site for the Wind Turbine installations and pretty sure those once installed, can supply the electricity to the whole world. Hope you market the site to the concerned businesses prudently. And can you explain your American accent in British Wales!
It is a stunning place. If you’d like to see more of this landscape, I camp about 3 miles away further up the mountain range in the video I filmed after this trip. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Have a great week!
Thank you for taking us along on your trek. I usually avoid cooking in my tent too. But, it doesn't look like you had a problem with ventilation. Nice to see someone else using a Spice Rocket. I like real cooking in the wild but hate doing dishes so I usually have freeze dried meals or dehydrate my own creations at home and the freezer bag cook on the trail. Dish washing . . . lick the spoon. Thanks again for the trek. Beautiful scenery! Thank you for leaving no trace.
If the weather is cooperative I will always leave the door open when cooking, but even with it closed I’ve found the ventilation to be pretty great in the Soulo! I am not a fan of cleaning the dishes either. If I have a dirty fry pan that can’t be easily wiped clean, I will usually just seal it in a ziplock bag and just wait till I get home to clean it. Making your own dehydrated meals is great! I’ve only ever done Beef jerky or a simple marinara and pasta with my dehydrator. It’s definitely the most convenient way to cook and I agree you can’t beat the ease of dish washing with just the lick of a spoon! Really appreciate you watching the video and taking the time to comment! Have a great week!

Just found your channel and this vid. Great job! I haven’t watched your other videos but I enjoyed hearing you talk. I have 2 Hillebergs and showing my wife this video helped justify the purchases. I subscribed, keep it up!
Welcome to the channel! I also talk in my next video and will continue in future videos. The Hilleberg is overkill on most of my camps, but I’ve always told my wife you don’t need it until you need it. On this trip I was happy to have it as I’ve had other tents fail on me in bad weather and that’s no fun. I’ve also been able to pitch it on only rocks (like in my Jurassic coast video) and because the floor is so durable I don’t really worry about it! I personally think investing in your big three is always a good decision. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and the support!!
My Friend, you were very brave in very trying conditions of weather......We have pretty much the same kind of weather here back home, especially where I am located. Well done to you. Greetings from Papua New Guinea.
Thanks Ronald! Not sure if I’d consider myself brave, but rather just experienced with the gear that I am using and confident in what conditions it can handle. Even if that was put to the test a little bit! I appreciate the kind words and support. Thanks for watching!
Subbed on this one. Just how I remember Wales. Wet windy Wales. Impressed with your tent and cook set. Worked well in the conditions. You’re brave or mad I’m not quite sure but I enjoyed the adventure.
😂 It wasn’t most relaxing conditions for a camp, but the Hilleberg Soulo excels in these windy wet conditions. I was pretty confident it would be fine. However, off camera, it was pushed a little more than I’ve experienced in the past. The jetboil is a pretty solid cook kit for this kind of trip. This was the first time I’ve used their skillet which I was thoroughly impressed with. Being able to just wipe it clean was really nice! Really appreciate the support!

Absolutely, your channel deserve more subs!

ATB

My kind of camping. Considering the circumstances I think you did an excellent job. Great video. Tony.
Thanks Tony! It was a fun trip. Crazy weather just adds the to experience! BTW I’ve been watching your videos lately as they pop up in my feed and I didn’t realize I hadn’t even subscribed yet. I will fix that!! ATB

I bet those are fantastic memories 👍😀. Really appreciate you watching and taking time to comment. All the best.
Goodness gracious..... Love this video😍
Thanks!
Wind and rain just makes it all much better!
Definitely adds to the experience! Thanks for watching!
Loved your dialogue! The steak looked great!
Appreciate the feedback 👍. Always nice to have a steak at camp 😀
I really liked your video! It was cool of you to remain calm despite the bad weather condition. I enjoyed it very much ☺️
The bad weather can kinda be fun sometimes … and at the very least memorable! Thanks for watching!
Another great video thanks for sharing the hilldeberg soulo tent look like it was struggling at certain points in the video. The important point is I enjoyed the gourmet cuisine cooking episode
Thanks! The wind direction changed on me and it was actually broadsiding the tent which is never ideal. It held strong just pushed me around a bit 👍.
I was uneasy in a caravan some windy nights in Wales, well done you for completing your overnight adventure. Thanks for sharing!
I was certainly uneasy myself there for a bit. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
You show no signs of being nervous…you have a very soothing voice so don’t worry 👌
Thanks! I’ve camped in terrible weather many times so I wouldn’t say I was all that nervous but some of the gusts, particularly off camera did give me pause. But I trust my gear. Particularly this tent. It can definitely take a beating. Appreciate the comment! ATB
@@GoingSoloOutdoors I meant about talking to camera
@@japtasticify oh haha sorry I completely misread that! I have taught high school kids and even other teachers for over a decade so I suppose that helps. I originally didn’t speak to the camera in earlier videos because I thought it might take away from my enjoyment of the camp. I’ve learned to actually enjoy it because I now feel like I’m talking to everyone who I chat with in the comments 😀👍
That was intense!!! Glad you got your hat back. Another great video !!
Great job my great friend! Lot of love and respect from a solo mountain hiker from the Lower Chitral District of Pakistan for you bravery and passion!
Thanks! It’s always nice to be reminded that Mother Nature should be taken seriously. Also makes you more appreciative of the times when the weather is in your favor! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Awesome video, so well done. Exactly how I remember heaps of trips in the UK. The expression on your face when the wind goes too far and you're second guessing the tent :)
Subbed!
That was a proper weather battering!! Not many tents would have survived... praise be to the Soulo. That was a great watch,,, subbed
The GoPro do a verg good job actually. Great video in these poor weather conditions! Great work.
Thanks! The GoPro handles the wind much better than my main camera. It’s definitely very useful in these conditions 👍
ATB
@@GoingSoloOutdoors its my absolute pleasure! A great video is worthy of a decent reply and its good to share our experiences! 😊
An unforgettable video! It is just awsome!
Thanks! Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! It is definitely a memorable trip!
ATB
Great video. Love the cooking tips as well.
Thanks! Cooking is always a fun part of the camp 👍
I love those cool atmospheric shots where you’re hiking away from the camera, but I always think, darn, the poor guy has to come all the way to get the camera 😂

Lee the commentary going I think it is very good.

Wow mate, that wind was ridiculous! I have never had my Soulo out in weather like that. Thanks for sharing... now I need a good filet and some Brussels.
Yeah the wind was pretty intense on this trip but the Soulo took it like a champ. Such a sturdy tent! Can’t go wrong with a steak 👍
It was the first video I saw on your channel. And I must say, I liked it a lot.

Thanks! Yeah the weather was pretty gross from start to finish on this one. I almost didn’t go but I was glad I did. Once in the tent it was a pretty relaxing camp, aside from the noise when trying to sleep.

I read most of the replies B4 composing the following:
This is the first time I've watched one of your videos.

Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
Fantastic channel & footage, I must have lived under ALL rocks to have missed your channel. All thumbs up dude 👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the kind words and the support!!
Great effort mate all the best Australia 🇦🇺
Thanks for watching!
I love it !! Awazing video bro , keep amaze us 😍
Such kind words. Thanks you!
