@@MrSkerpentineIn 1981 the Fairchild Channel F, Atari 2600, Intellivision, Odyssey 2, and Bally Astrocade were on the market. Around 50 atari 2600 games alone were already out. The Apple 2, PET, Vic 20, TRS-80, Zx80, and Zx81 offered deeper computer games.
The foundations of the RPG had already been established with Wizadry and Ultima. Adventure games like Zork and Colossal Cave, and even early graphical adventures like Mystery House and Ataris Adventure. Donkey Kong established the platformer that year.
Online gaming had started 7 years earlier with the Plato computer network in 1974, and by 1981 university students across the united states could play the behinnings of the MMORPG with MUD on ArpaNET.

I actually managed to luck into playing most of the "decent to good" Frogger games. I've spent a fair portion of my life thinking that I had just imagined Frogger The Great Quest in a manic fever dream as a 6 year old who was given too much Tylenol.

The throw away tommy talarico line is EVERYTHING to me
I’m so glad that everyone hates that dude now
9:25 I AM GOING TO FUCKING SCREAM RIGHT NOW. YOU REALLY FUCKING MADE A RETRO LOOKING AD. AND PUT HYPNOSPACE MUSIC INTO IT. YOU ARE A FUCKING LEGEND
NO WONDER IT GAVE ME HYPNOSPACE VIBES, NO WAY
@@AxolinaAxolotl YES IT IS LITERALLY ON THE SOUNDTRACK HOLD ON
@@AxolinaAxolotl IT IS [Tuba Buffet's Brass Shade]
Oh my fucking GOD! This ad break is the best! I've watched it four times. I've only seen the rest of the video once! I hope you're getting more money for this.
Weirdly not the first full Frogger series retrospective I’ve watched this month.
Thank you, Nitro Rad.
And thank you Steve Jobs, for giving birth to Nitro Rad.
In case anyone was wondering before Noodle updates the description, the two prevalent tracks from the ad break are from hypnospace outlaw, Slushmouth's "Castles in Limbo" and Tuba Buffet's "Brass Shade," respectively.
It feels so nostalgic watching your ad spots. Like TMNT is on and I've got fruit loops. Just. . . The 90's style man. . . Hits hard.
I was super into frogger when I was a kid and so was my mom so I played most of these. I remember I had a plug and plug with a bunch of frogger games on it along with stuff like dig dug and pole position
I liked the part where he said “Its Frogger-time”, and then frogged all over Steve Jobs.
