She got killed because she said no to that evil family. R.I.P Martha, so sad.
Basically yes, they had sons that weren’t taught to respect others. Absolutely one or both boys did this and got away with it ‘bc we’re Kennedys’
I haven't watched it all yet, so I'll hold judgement.
But back in 1975 we didn't have the forensics that we have now.
And everything relied upon good old fashioned police detective work.
And how well they wanted to do it.
There would have been enormous pressure to find the culprit.
And in so many of these old crimes it was easier to see the culprit in her known last moments of her life.
They home in on them and then find their evidence to connect them to it.
They are blinkered and don't look outside the box.
Because what would be the chances of a complete random stranger passing through???

The amount of blood and how messy the crime was.
There must be stacks of DNA nowadays?
Now if that has been "lost" over the years??
Then I would definitely lean towards the Kennedy's more.
But I really can't see why this isn't solved easily today.

She wasn't saying no what are you talking about. Her friends left cuz she wasn't saying no and hooking up with Tommy. I think it was a jealous Dickey or that black guy. Dickey was like she didn't dance with anyone else as if it still hurts his feelings. Dickey is delusional or possessive or both. She wrote in her diary how she danced with 5 different people 2 of them she didn't even know their names and one of those 2 slow danced the fast part of stairway to heaven which is creepy considering it's like 10 minutes long and half of it is slow.
I despise parents that shield their children from being held accountable.
And all those slimy lawyers, who knew that the black guy was paid or threatened to falsely accuse another innocent men.

This always bothered me. We were almost the same age and felt so bad for teenage Martha and her Mother. Michael's rage because he did not get to have sex with Martha and killing her in cold blood. Money changes everything in this case. His family exchanged money to help his son.
It was either Michael or Tommy, or both! The problem is the rich can do these things and get away with it, it's how the world/system works...
But an innocent man is going to be put to death tonight even though there is no evidence. They refuse him an appeal in Missouri

Because she rejected sexual advances, for a motive? Could she have had a stalker, such as someone else whose advances she shunned? And the Skakel golf club left laying around outside somewhere?

Why didn't anyone ever examine the golf club for fingerprint and DNA evidence?
DNA wasn't a thing back then. I wonder if they still have the golf club? Maybe they could get some DNA from it now.
Only 3 parts of the golf club were found, that part that you grip it with was never found. And even if they found fingerprints of the Skakels, they could argue it was their golf club so of course it would be normal for their fingerprints to be there.

I loved that she journaled, so those that enjoyed and loved her can forever have her personal accounts of parts of her life.

I FULLY believe it was Tommy, Michael or both. Maybe Ken Littleton's behavior changed after he was let go due to lying about Tommy's alibi? He was then let go--wonder if he had a 'parting' gift, and his firing was a way to create distance from the family. That was my thought, too. He had this new job and was probably supposed to be supervising these kids while their dad was gone. They threatened him to lie, and then he got fired. That would mess anybody up. How the cops wouldn't think about that slays me. Of course, he might have refused to change his story. But I think the family threatened him.
That was exactly what I thought. The police looked at it like he was spiraling because he did it, and yet they didnt investigate the more reasonable option. That he felt guilt over lying to give Tommy an alibi.

I read in a Vanity Fair article that they had a tutor, a nanny, a cook and a gardener. Three of the 7 children were already adults so they didn't need supervision. But obviously they were allowed to run wild.
That's how rich people parent their children, they literally don't. They employ others to do it or simply leave them to it. Most get sent away to expensive boarding schools anyway so parenting time for those people is minimal. It's why they're so cold and unfeeling

High court reinstated his conviction, new trial ordered the CT State Supreme Court reversed the decision and CT prosecution did not want to pursue another trial. Who got paid off?

Well, Dad is away. Mom died years earlier. There is a tutor staying there but he’s in own space. The two younger ones are in bed (one is woken up by screams around 10pm he says). Then you have the one girl and Tommy and Michael. I think the others were out of the house. It’s a mansion too. Even if they saw him do you really think they would tell the truth?

The crime scene was botched. The Greenwich PD had no idea how to properly investigate a homicide.
I don’t think the police considered preserving blood/body fluid evidence because technology for use of DNA wasn’t available in 1975. 🤷♀️ Such a senseless tragedy.

The tutor and anybody else home at the time heard Martha's screams. The case could have been solved immediately, but somebody with a lot of power told the original investigators to lay off in order to protect the family. ☮️✌️☮️

Those were the days. It was a different time and over all a safe area. At least until this happened 😏
Different times I guess. Kids were outside a lot more and a lot later.
I was born in 1961. At 15, 16, 17 years old my curfew on weeknights was 11:00 pm because my parents had to work the next day and didn't want to lay awake worrying about me. They had to know I was home before they went to bed. On weekends my curfew was midnight. If it was a special night like prom, curfew could be extended, but not when I was 15. That privilege came at 16 and 17. 15 is pretty young to just be running the streets, even back then when times were supposedly more safe. And there's NO WAY my parents would've let me, a girl, at 15 years old regularly hang out over at a house filled with boys that had no parental supervision. My parents weren't overly strict either. They were pretty normal.

There were finger prints on the golf club? I know that DNA wasn't discovered in 1975 but the detectives usually keep evidence and they could've taken some piece of clothing or blood and tested for DNA. Such a sad case. RIP Martha.

About the fictional Bradley family and the investigation that tooknyears, as they hid behind their power and money it’s a great book. I was her age when she was killed and have never forgotten her. I sincerely hope she is resting in peace. Her poor mother lived hell on earth❤❤

Why didn't Michaels's lawyers play the entire recording so the jury could hear the proper context?

Honestly it could’ve been either of those brothers. Maybe the tutor developed a drug problem and life started sliding was because he lied and knew it. Maybe the guilt is what caused it. I remember when that Smith case happened. I’m sorry. I used to love the Kennedy’s but this generation of children seems to think their wealth and power should protect their family. No wonder Jackie raised Caroline and John away from the rest of them.
Reminds me of Katie Holmes decision to devise an escape plan re: Tom Cruise. I always admire her for that. A lister nothing! Save yourself and your child even if you have to depart in the night.
