Well done! You would have saved some time and distance by leaving the railway bed at the Lion Inn rather than following it all the way to the road. - perfectly acceptable under the rules for the route. Hoping to do my fourth crossing in the next couple of years.
Hi I started running in last 4 months. For some reason I had the bright idea that I should run/walk the lyke wake walk? I have started to increase my distances to 8km and will continue to stretch these to over 10 miles. Do you think it's possible to attempt by late spring early summer or am I being unrealistic? Oh,and any shoe recommendations?
Hi Alan, I don't see why not, plenty of training plans for 50milers are only 16 weeks long, starting from a reasonable base (www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/ultra/a774983/16-week-50-mile-ultra-marathon-training-schedule/?FBRWUK&). It's a great route and mostly on good paths, although there are a couple of boggy sections. The start is a killer though with so much ascent so get more training on hills than you might think to. Good luck, you won't regret it 👍
@@DM_RUNNING Thanks Daniel,I will take on board a training plan. Iam near peak District,so can get acent training in👍 Would you take spare socks and shoes for after boggy part?
Your filming skills have improved massively... loved it!
Thanks Naseem, bit more thought went into this one!
Nice video. Wishing you a wonderful day. Take care
Thanks, appreciate it 👍
Well done Dan, great run and video! What a day you had, the inversion was stunning!
Thanks, yes couldn't believe how lucky I was with the weather and that it lasted all day.
Wow, wow and wow! Extraordinary achievement and not bad filming. From one half of the support team (was a lot of fun!). Dx
Thank Dave, and for supporting on the day, much appreciated!

Thanks, had seen that but for some reason felt like I would have been cheating myself 😂. Good luck, it's a cracking route.

Wet shoes/socks while trail running is an inevitably, better just to get used to it and wear well ventilated shoes
