    A day in the life of me, a Walmart truck driver. I've been driving for Walmart Transportation for nearly a year and I LOVE IT! I've been trucking for 7 years and this is by far the best. EVERYTHING is better here at Walmart!
    Stick around at the end to see some "bonus" materials lol
    Interested in a career driving for Walmart? You're not alone. Email me at TTLWalmart@gmail.com
    Also when applying and talking on the phone PLEASE mention you know me Everett Mathis Driver number 54285. I will get a bonus and you will get fast tracked to the top of the list. I recently helped someone get the phone interview after he waited weeks after applying. I have access. I will also email you back and talk to you on the phone answering any questions and I don't mind keeping contact! I actually made a friend from a referral! Now I've heard the other guy that does referrals won't give you the personalized attention. So please consider using me as a referral! Either way I'm shouting it from the roof tops! This is the greatest job!

    Eh. I was thinking of joining Walmart in the past, but I'm not a fan of slip seating sleepers and I don't like the seniority crap over schedules

    see i started driving cabovers in late 70s and early 80s haiuled lindseed oil gas and dry van and reefer small company my best payckeck weas 500 clear in a week.most of times you had to put blanket over feet in the transtars cause heat sucked your toes froze in summer the air would work for 3 days then break again on the transtars that 800 thousand mile or beyond they would fix it then they broke again

    They are great company. Just have to get use to slip seating every week. You can have an assigned truck but still need to remove your gear for next driver. It's only draw back of working there. All other stuff if provided. Oh must have good ethics and no lying because you will be gone. If have issue with employee take it to management do not confront someone.

    Hi, thank you for the video. Just to clarify, you didn’t have experience before driving to Walmart ? I asked that because I am in the process of starting school for my CDL and I was researching companies that hire new drivers. The jobs that are close to me want 2 1/2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience. Does that depend on what state you live in?

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  27 днів тому

      Walmart requires 2 1/2 years CDL Class a tractor trailer experience

      I'm usually in the same truck for 5 days then I'm off for two then I'm in a different truck for 5 more days they bought a whole crap load of brand new cascadias and Rumor Has It they're going to start putting people on my schedule in their own trucks so fingers crossed

    So if you have the opportunity to make it back to your home DC and you decide to go home for the night because you live close, do you have to let your dispatcher know? I assume you miss out on the layover pay for the night, right?

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  3 місяці тому +1

      The beauty with Walmart's system is you tell them when your leaving for your next load. It's called EDT Estimated Time of Departure. You don't have to tell them your going home for the night as long as you make it back and out of there by your EDT. Yes you lose your layover bonus.

    Great video. I’m a rout driver for 30 years but getting tired of the physical work. I’m not sure I’m looking to be out for a week. I have a interview with Walmart but not sure if I will take the job. Any input on this? Thanks

    • @ThisTruckingLife
      @ThisTruckingLife  8 місяців тому +2

      30 years! Nice! Some DCs have home daily. Also depending on the DC you might have to do grocery but the only physical part of that is opening the bulkheads in the trailer that separate the frozen from the refrigerated. Good luck on whatever you decide

      100% yes...at my DC. As long as the truck is safely and legally parked. You should check with your DC about this. With that being said, if you go home you cannot say on the tablet that you did a layover.
