Before my own authority I was with a FedEx Ground contractor for several years and before that I leased an SFI truck and did Owner Op for Schneider. I tried this on 2024 cascadia. It over heats as soon i connect wires! Did not worked! Is this not good enough for semi truck?

Are your days 12-14 hrs usually? WM ever run you up against that 14? Gotta be up and at em when your 10 is up? My buddy from us foods is on his 4 th wk here in Fl. I want to come aboard someday.
Walmart is so laid back. It's different here. You have total control of how hard you want to run. You tell them the time you have on your clock. I'm sure some people might run less hours but I'd bet if they did it everyday they'd get a talking to. I usually do 12 to 13 but if I'm doing several stops I can get right up to 14..don't forget we have lots of parking options.

Hope you don't mind me peppering you with questions. I've been driving with US Foods 19 yrs. It's time to make some real $
@duckbrew yeah I believe it's 30 minutes. Do t get hung up on it though it's just like it was in cdl school. Nothing cracked bent or broken...Yada Yada. I don't mind the questions! It's a big deal to make the switch.

@@Kevo1993 idk new trucks are comfortable and super clean. Thats all i like nowadays, but engine wise older trucks will never have comparison
Were talking about aero trucks. I'd take an old w9 over one of these anytime but an old aero truck...nope.
@@wello9197 I have a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia with red paint and a chrome bumper below the grill. No note just insurance. It was a former Ozark truck. Runs great from being maintained very well and I keep it clean. And it runs very smooth.

It's a long process. Keep an eye on the portal and do everything they asked you to do. If you haven't heard anything in 3 weeks let me know.

I drive for the Walmart DC out of Spring Valley Illinois. On a 5/2, 5/3 schedule. Going on 4 1/2 months and it’s been great. But how long did it take for you to get your own truck?

I had a watch. It would count bumps while driving as steps and show 1,000s of extra steps. Annoying.
I got nearly 2000 steps on that live. And yeah I don't want the bumps counted.
I just passed my learners permit and I start driving school for Walmart on August 10th

So if you have the opportunity to make it back to your home DC and you decide to go home for the night because you live close, do you have to let your dispatcher know? I assume you miss out on the layover pay for the night, right?
The beauty with Walmart's system is you tell them when your leaving for your next load. It's called EDT Estimated Time of Departure. You don't have to tell them your going home for the night as long as you make it back and out of there by your EDT. Yes you lose your layover bonus.
