LYRICS (some parts could be a bit off.) :
I fell for the bait again
A fork in a road and wonder ends
and upon those stones I lay out alone to find you
and a whisper like leaves in the wind
An air so pure it could wash away sin
A message like a stranger we take kind to
And the night it sings to me
as I fall asleep
each breath slower than the last
a sweet low tide recedes
we can almost hear the choir
echoing down streets on fire
singing, "Keep calm, restless world.
This too shall pass."
Are we all failures in disguise
for the dream we brought to life
from behind our name in lights,
our shadow's cast
but will they last?
It's not that I don't believe
it's just that I'm so afraid to bleed.
If we could just stay on the mountain path,
over debris
so I can breathe again.
so we can live like we lived back then
when these lakes were only puddles
and these monsters were still men
'cause we are but saddled horses
and they bet on every race
but there's contempt bred in the stallion
for the man that calls its name
we can almost hear the choir
echoing down streets on fire
singing, "Keep calm, restless world.
This too shall pass."
Are we all failures in disguise
for the dream we brought to life
from behind our name in lights,
our shadow's cast
and feet don't fail me now
there's a broken, lonely town
waiting somewhere down this empty road
and lungs please don't give out
words we whisper, sometimes shout
and until they're heard, I'm never going home.
I fell for the bait again
--------------------------------------------
Tim played three songs. This is the first song. I did not get the third since I thought he would play more, and I wanted to conserve battery life.
It's amazing how much a person you've never met could impact your life in such profoundly strong ways.
i couldn't agree more!!!
Well, we have to understand the kind of toll the early songs of RA take on Tim's voice. I love the early stuff too, but it's important to remember that we already have those. Not only do we have them, but they're the finest examples of that style in existence.
I'm not saying I wouldn't love a new Unravelling, but I'm fine with their transition. It's probably for the best they don't go backwards.
I'd listen to Tim sing the ABC's if he sang it the way he does all his other songs.
Tim is god, this song is a message, and the person holding the camera is a prophet with proof.
The tuning is standard. Chords are E minor, Gmaj (played with 3rd fret of 2nd string, without high e) C maj, back to Gmaj, C maj, then Dmaj. Hope it helps for all you guitar players! :)
"Chuck Ragan, jack of all trades everybody!" how great is that... Tim and Chuck... two geniuses.
just wanted to say i love your profil pic :D
Hey Guys. I heard this video a few weeks ago and I fell in love with it so i decided to cover it. I am so happy with it and i think its one of my best covers so far. Been a rise against fan for 8 years now and Tim is and will always be my idol. I made the cover as a dedication to him and Rise Against.
Thank you! Please hit "THUMBS UP" so more people might see this..
Tim is a great guy, got to sit and have a good conversation about his music and what he does, up I'm flagstaff 2012 this year.
its not named yet, but i expect it to be released soon enough or on their next album atleast :)
Check out my Cover of this song if u want :) (recorded with a profesional mic etc.)
no its not. give me a link to your source please :)
ive googled the killing tree and they havnt made a song called "unknown song" as far as i can see
Before the black market was released I was on a few people to hear this song, I had my jaw on the desk of the computer I was using at the time because I didn't know he could sing like that
Thanks for the tab and Happy Birthday to Tim!
Tim McIllrath...
Actually, I belive the lyrics are "a fork in a road and one never ends." If you listen closely it sounds like that. You've probably heard that more than once though. :p
But thank you for uploading this. I listen to this and play it every night. (:
I thought it was "a fork in the road and wonder ends"... like, a loss of innocence because of having to make that decision..... Just seemed to make sense to me =]
Don't know of course, but I think it would work! =D
This whole song is beautiful!! =')
Yeah definitely with you on the "wonder ends"! =)
But I'm still quite sure it's "AND wonder ends"... listen back over it a few times, what do you think??
They have the most amazing lyrics! =)
Actually guys, its "one never ends". Listen real close. You can hear it. "A fork in the road and one never ends". Makes sense too if you think about it. One of the roads never ends.
he played them's fightin' words. this is something else, i very much doubt this is a tkt song. have you listened to that shit? it's so hardcore, it's awesome.
Its a unreleased killing tree song guys, seriously, did you hear anything he said? He said he'd play killing tree, then he said you dont know this song
he said he was gonna play killing tree and then played this soo....im going to take it that its an old killing tree song that never actually got out.
Yeah, If I am correct, he met him at Daley Plaza in Chicago at a concert back in May. He said that Rise is busy so he never thought much of it.
It sounds like a song that could have that title. I'm hoping that Dirt and Roses will be hardcore since almost all of their b-sides are anymore.
Does anyone have an address or e-mail address to write to Tim? :) I'm not sure the he read all the emails, but everyone can have hope
The chord sequence at the beginning sounds a bit like Please Don't Let It Go by HIM, either way this song's amazing :')
They do now!!
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the song. I just dislike it when people make a big deal about likes/dislikes.
Does that mean you have the rest of the chords? If you do, it'd mean a lot if you could share them with me or something
No it's not... He played a Killing Tree Song later this show (Them's fighting words)
check it out, it's awesome :)
someone of you could write what he says in the beggining? i'm not american/english and it's hard to understand :)
Ouh Sorry...
I had this Song. I thought it's called so.My computer was destroyed,so all files were lost.....
Any1 know what the song is called ? if so please let me know i want to add it to the list of songs im learning
Sounds like gaslight anthem song or a horrible crows song (IMO) if you don't know who they are look them up
Anyone else noticed that the tab sounds wrong during the bridge? has anyone got another tab for it?
I mispelled a word.. haha. I like the name "Saddled Horses" better, although yours sounds cool too :)
@OnionBear9 I think the second line is 'and one never ends'. Would fit better with the context. :)
It's not "one never ends" but it makes sense tho. Listen to the beginning like 4 times or so.
i do not, it mostly looks like Em Cadd9 and G but i love the chords he uses from 5:25 to 5:45
Well, it has two dislikes :D
But i don't understand how anyone can dislike Rise Against :D
I thought "Wonderance" too, but It isn't a word, its "A fork in a road and one never ends"
why this song isn't out yet? you should rename the title when you will know an actual name
holy shit this is dam good, love RA/TKT/Tims voice.
I am now totally and completely in love with this man's voice. 0.0 my jaw literally dropped when he started singing. I've NEVER heard his voice like this. Ever. It's absolutely, indescribably gorgeous. This is just.....amazing.
More people have been saying its "A Fork in the Road and One Never Ends"
i think instead of one durance its wonderance but i could be wrong :)
/watch?v=R3z_xDX5qZ4 Here's a link to Tim's new unknown song. Enjoy!
Have you written a letter to Tim? i'm still waiting for a email reply
I thought he was saying "fork in a road, and one never ends." o.O
this is the most perfect song ive ever heard
But it's not important ^^ It's a fucking great song,isn't it?:)
This might actually be Dirt and Roses for the Avengers soundtrack.
I really love this song, anyone know if it has a name or not?
Oh my god this is lovely, I could cry :)
Tim knows how to write Incredible Songs! awesome
does anyone know what chords he is playing from 5:25 to 5:45
his vocals are trimmed with gold
I think the lyrics are "fork in a road and one never ends."
For some reason I first thought of "Swing Life Away" when he started playing this song. It doesn't technically sound like it, but I think the mood/tone of the song is similar. oh yeah, and I LOVE IT!
cause this song is Dirt And Roses:
/watch?v=0tJcg2RKm3A
What was the third song he played? Fucking awesome!
You mean 33. He was born in 1979 on November 3rd.
Wait, you told Tim about how we liked this song?
You were at the Revival tour show in Nashville?
How do you know this song isn't Dirt and Roses?
It's "a fork in the road where wonder ends."
That's exactly what I thought it was too.
WHERE IS THE LOVE BUTTON. FJDSLFAJSFLA.
WHATS THE NAME OF THIS SONG?!!?!??!??!
I bet you it's Failures in Disguise.
I bet theyre making a new album :P
It was "Bleeder", It was a cover .
my feels are all messed up ;_;
These dudes are geniuses in music
Thanks UA-cam Suggestions!
I.....I.....I'm speechless
Wait for studio version :D
thank you so much ;D
I can smell a new CD
Its "Dirt and Roses"
I bet you're right.
wonder ends? :)
Starts at 2:28
If so, I hope this is just an live version and not the actual version. I want to hear a new song with the whole band! :)
But if it's the real version, I'm fine, too :)
this is great
I was there too. I thought it was wierd that I was like the only one who knew the lyrics to the song there. Such a good show. Also, I got the other one on video. I will try to upload it soon.
Beautiful
first time i´ve heard this song , i´ve cried cause i wuz too happy ...another beatiful song from Rise in the world ! :)... anyway my favorite acoustic song :)
I actually kinda wished they stayed with the name unknown song because that is what everybody called it and I personally liked how it fit but oh well.
Wow, I would love to go to that, rather than some concert where 80% of the people don't have a clue what they're singing about
Manmanman...Just came back to this vid after like 2-3 months and it still amazes me!
Not a typical Rise song (even for their acoustic songs this one is....different) but still the most beautiful songs they ever made!
I thought it was "A fork in a road I know never ends" Jesus Christ I hope they release a studio version of this. And even if they do I'm still keeping this one
Dude you have to upload it. I was there but I had to leave before Tim even got to play his set. I'm begging you.
This is nice.
But I hope their next album goes back to a more hardcore punk style like sufferer and the albums before.
Fat chance right?
oh god, dude! I don't think i need to say anything, Im out of words anyway. This is beautiful.
They admitted they miss the harder parts of Rise against lately so it is pretty much possible they will go back to the older style for the next album.
What I hear is theyre taking a more softer approach to their next record :/ which i'm actually looking very forward to...don't get me wrong I still absolutely LOVE the stuff they do now.
I'm really hoping this is going to be just an acoustic song. I can't see this turning into a full band song... To pure and sweet
Besides it is really cool to get to watch the band members grow through their music. We should be thankful that we get to experience their lives and changes with them through it.
well, no homework is going to get done tonight
Check out the cover I just did from this song, you can find it in my channel!
doesn't really matter, both (one never ends&wonder ends) are amazing lyrics.
He does read all the letters and email but doesn't have time to reply them.
