Yeah I know, I was crying when I heard them's fightin' words because ive wanted tim to cover a killing tree song for soooo long, and yeah I wish he would have recorded that one.
seen an interview Tim did with Rolling Stone recently. coinfirmed they were going on a break, but they dont know how long, not overly long but definately enough time to "recharge their batteries after being at it full-force the last 2 years" he said. He also added that after doing the Bob Dylan cover "Ballad of Hollis Brown" theyv'e been inspiered to pursue a softer sound, similar to that song, and presumably something along the lines of this.
They announce it on the 24th of June, it's "Restless World" and it'll probably be on an EP either before or after their new album. But it won't be on the album
This song is called "Restless World." It is an original by Rise. However, it will not be featured on any upcoming album. I have confirmation from Zach they are taking a break in 2013.
I contacted their website manager and they told me the official title and it won't be on the album, but rather possibly an EP before or after the new album is released.
No problem. (: Just so you know, here's their cover I originally saw, the non-acoustic version: /watch?v=ksWubTcKEjI -It was actually the whole band who did that one. The one I remember Tim McIlrath doing without (and one time with) Rise Against was the cover The Descendant's "Bikeage", one of their best.
this song is by Rise Against but Tim never gave the name of the song when he performed it so no body really knows what the name of the song is or if it's just a cover. Everyone who knows about this song just calls it the "Unknown Song" by Rise Against. That is all I know on it, if anyone else wants to prove me wrong or back up my saying, go ahead, please keep me updated on this song:) it is one of my favorites after all
I thought maybe this was going to be swing life away 2.0 at first and was disappointed when I read the comments and its only a cover but then I realized that Tim can really relate to this song.. he and his wife dream of retiring and living in the mountains she once said and that keeps them going through crazy tours and him being away from his kids.. I guess Tim's worried about the impact he makes on the world and if it will last and wishes he could live a simple life but carries on
Someone from Generation lost forum asked tim on tour and he said It didn't have a name cause he wrote it while on tour. He was asked to release it and said something like maybe ;)
Yeah I read it and flipped the literal fuck out x) I'm glad they're finally taking a break from touring, they've been going at it hard for the past 2 years.
No problem sir. But a lot of people say the same thing (and then delete their comments two minutes after). Anyway, let's just hope they release the official song soon. +_+
Yeah that's true, but I was thinking this is dirt and roses because the avengers soundtrack comes out in a little more than 2 weeks, and this is the only new material they've played so far as I know
Maybe you guys should actually read the conversation. I'm not talking about this video, I meant the 3rd song in the description of this video. "Revival Tour 2012 - Chicago 3". They played Strong Reaction.
I really think it makes sense with the rest of the verse too! =) Like he's had this decision to make, which is the fork in the road, but he's fallen for the bait and made the wrong choice, so the wonder has gone and he has to face reality and realise he has to go out alone to find the person who is lost.... Haha just my take on it!! =P
1/2 I'm not even going to try to find the name but find the meaning behind the song... I think it's about leaving home to try and find your own life but you fall off the original road you intended to take. The path that isn't the original plan turns out to be a trap and you become trapped into a life you didn't wish to have. You keep telling yourself "This too shall pass," hoping for this to only be a phase. Ultimately though... You become trapped for good... Never being able to go back home...
People are saying that, but it is not. None of them have presented any evidence to show that it is, and also Tim at the beginning also says "You guys haven't heard this one" pretty much meaning it's his own work, if not some help with the rest of the band :D
So I'm wondering, do you guys think that it's "A fork in a road and "ONE NEVER ENDS" Or "ONE DURANCE" Or even "WONDERANCE"? I'm just wondering, to me it actually might sound like one never ends, but I'm not too sure because Tim usually never mumbles words :P
Hey guys, I would appreciate it so much if you checked out my new lyric video for Dirt and Roses :) Here's the link - /watch?v=gsh3JKsvJ2Y go check it out please! Thanks :)
Really? I thought that they would eventually taking a break i just hoped they would make one more album. Did you get anymore info on the hiatus or the song besides it's name?

They announce it on the 24th of June, it's "Restless World" and it'll probably be on an EP either before or after their new album. But it won't be on the album
The name of the song is Restless World. Tim said it the other day on the Revival Tour
that is soooo amazing
That is such a fucking awesome picture of them...
This song is called "Restless World." It is an original by Rise. However, it will not be featured on any upcoming album. I have confirmation from Zach they are taking a break in 2013.
they sing of the lives i wish ive lived
Rise Against is starting to work on a new album, so maybe we can get a studio version of this soon!
That's an awesome name.
I contacted their website manager and they told me the official title and it won't be on the album, but rather possibly an EP before or after the new album is released.
you can do this on an album and you dont have to change anything because it's so beautiful..
No problem. (: Just so you know, here's their cover I originally saw, the non-acoustic version: /watch?v=ksWubTcKEjI

I wonder if this will be on their next album, cause this awesome
I hope they produce this, it's wonderful. If anyone finds any information about it, please share it.
It's already been made official by RA, this song is called "Restless World" and it will not be on their new album.
I have come to my senses, and realized it is "A fork in a road and ONE NEVER ENDS"
Yeah I read it and flipped the literal fuck out x) I'm glad they're finally taking a break from touring, they've been going at it hard for the past 2 years.
No problem sir. But a lot of people say the same thing (and then delete their comments two minutes after).

sweet
It's in the description of the uploaders second video.
Yeah that's true, but I was thinking this is dirt and roses because the avengers soundtrack comes out in a little more than 2 weeks, and this is the only new material they've played so far as I know
definitely "one never ends". it sounds pretty clear to me..
Maybe you guys should actually read the conversation. I'm not talking about this video, I meant the 3rd song in the description of this video. "Revival Tour 2012 - Chicago 3". They played Strong Reaction.
We have to go back.
I really think it makes sense with the rest of the verse too! =)
Like he's had this decision to make, which is the fork in the road, but he's fallen for the bait and made the wrong choice, so the wonder has gone and he has to face reality and realise he has to go out alone to find the person who is lost....

"It's not that I don't believe,
it's just that I'm so afraid to bleed!"
Tim McIlrath is our God.
People are saying that, but it is not. None of them have presented any evidence to show that it is, and also Tim at the beginning also says "You guys haven't heard this one" pretty much meaning it's his own work, if not some help with the rest of the band :D
It is not Dirt and Roses, you can find 30 sec of Dirt and Roses on web, pm if you want link

I was saying what because he said this is an acoustic cover, when it is not
/watch?v=R3z_xDX5qZ4 This is a link to a new unknown song Tim played on the revival tour. Enjoy!
I'm not sure if I'm right, but the chorus might be "for the dream, we bought a lie."
epic
:) awesome.
i agree with this one :)
The song is called "Restless World".
Restless World

He's not saying it's not acoustic, he's saying it's not a cover, atleast to Pegboy-strong reaction. which it blatantly isn't.
is this going to be on their knew album?
That actually could be it!
i want an mp3 download for this!Plz?Anyone?
@PotatoKillYou no it's not, them's fighting words is different, with all due respect
Nobody ever said it was...
The song is "Strong Reaction", it's a cover by the band "Pegboy". Tim's done that song by himself before, in fact. :D
Here's the third song's link
