- Part two is here! Watch how our intrepid barbarian army sacks, loots, and pillages their way across the continent in search of fabled lebensraum. Due to a lack of scientific funding, however, our glorious Reich is unable to research technologies. Scheiße!
Gameplay is from Civilization 5. Civilization IV is developed by Firaxis and produced by 2K games. All rights reserved.
You are GERMANY.
Tis only ONE Technology you need.
Beer.
I was thinked man furnaces
R this is real life not fairy tales
Ai and humans can both bombard 2 tiles away from a city on all difficulties
I didn't realize this at the time. thanks for the correction!
Alexandre Margery nope cities always go 2 tiles away
You're telling me you've played this game so much and havent noticed that the city bombardment range is two tiles?
My god, when he said that I was thinking the same thing. So I went to check if anyone really pointed that out thanks! Heck I figured that out from day one of Civiiization 5. Nothing changed. Although I did not know at the time about archers not being to shoot over hills or rough terrain without having a special perk like the level up to do it. That always confused me for a while till I figured out that too.
isn't it that you're getting no science because the city's revolting?
GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA
level 1 cities don't revolt.
This is so brutish but I like the idea. Being forced to survive in the wild and to be constantly attacking is not what this game is designed for. But the campaign's conditions sets the tone for it.
6 minutes of "My science isn't working. I'll try to fix it hopefully for part 3. etc"
you should have puppeted the city so then you actually have no cities
AM Melodiana That would have been a good idea. I'm not sure if it's possible to have a capital city that's puppeted, though?
+AlzaboHD I dont thin kRotterdam is your capital , its your current capital but its NOT your REAL capital since you never founded one :P , still cool challange
It is in fact possible to have a capital that is a puppet. This happened to Japan in one of my games.
Jeremy Chen Happens to Venice a lot as well.
Politic Revolutionnaire It's hilarious when it happens, xd.
science didn't glitch, only Palace generates science points in hat stage
While you complaint about not getting science done, you got 1 turn of science done
your science probably isn't registering from the fact taht your city is still in revolt if I had to take a guess.
+CalAnime I think enough turns went by that revolt would have gone away. Maybe not though.
7:30 Nope, that's how bombardment works.
Amsterdam got blitzkrieg'ed
part 4 (1940)
Ich gut. approved - adolf
City range has always been two. It wasn't a glitch you probably just didn't notice the range before, honestly strange that you didn't, but yeah it's two.
You're doing god's work man. I could not do this, but i love watching it!
Cities can always fire two hexes distance
I'm loving the background music.
A city's bombardment range has always been 2 tiles... also the description is pretty stereotypical...
It becomes 2 tiles if it's settled on a hill
+Thedemolisher no it doesnt, its always 2 tiles and ignores surounding terrain,u can bombard over mountains with city.
I will have to try the Germany no-city challenge myself sometime! I do have Civ VI installed, but still have lots of things I haven't tried yet in Civ V, so I'm still playing that game.
An excellent challenge and a great attempt on your part (except for that science bug). I hope you can get it fixed but if not please try it again with a new install.
Pretty Shure I saw my Kilimanjaro send your army there to get the altitude training upgrade.
The Hunns Battle Ram is also an option. Its damn op against early cities
He should have puppetted the city instead of annexing
Is it possible to destroy one`s capital on this way? E.g. if the dutch take back Rotterdam and then another civ captures it: would they be able to raze it?
I think depending on the pace, it affects the size of the map. I put a huge world on Earth map, size huge and pace marathon or higher. and the earth map was Ginormous when I found out that I spawned on the south America Continent.
Very interesting challenge, well done out of curiosity, what difficulty is this game on?
Kurus IV It's on King difficulty!
Thanks man, sorry though watched a bit more of the video and you say it... Silly me
Isn't it because of marathon speed? All development is much slower.
or as he has one city no that started with no buildings and as he has no tech in that city and you can't build any tech buildings until writing witch he has not discovered he should have no science
о чем видео? о том, что он не уверен, выйдет ли третья часть.
I'm from the future reinstalling does work
I play on level 2 difficulty and they bombard me from two tiles away.
Thought it was cause of marathon, till I realized it's not going any higher.
Mike Price Its the first time I've ever seen or heard of this glitch before... It's a shame too since it was a very great start considering the limitations.
Ya, hope you get it fixed. This seems like a great concept and idea, too.
oh dear, the lack of science wasn't a glitch. negative gold reduces science so that is why.
This is cool, I'm gonna try it
I think your science doesn't advance because you didn't found a city by a settler
+Passerby Pooh No shit sherlock
Alexander Hahn
I'm not sherlock, I'm just a passerby.
1:30 It's cause you have negative gold income. Not sure if it's a glitch or if the devs purposely designed it that way.
I'm not bankrupt, though. Making negative gold is relatively common. Especially for AI players. In many games they are making -78 gold per turn, so I'm sure its something else. I've used a mod to fix the problem, and I'm positive its related to owning a "palace" that is scripted / hard coded for your civilization. A palace is the wonder that is generated upon founding a city with your starting settler... Too bad with this challenge it makes that impossible!
Chet Irons It is a confirmed bug. It usually happened when another nation gives you a city and under certain conditions a certain amount of food, production, & gold was deducted from the total that city produced (usually the base amounts that the city tile produced, with no improvements). Supposedly a patch fixed this, however because you are throwing away your settler from the start & then conquering a city, it acts like the city is annexed under a treaty agreement with the AI and so it's triggering this bug that was supposed to be fixed (and subsequently doing the same with each city captured after that). This may be why so many people start by capturing a city-state (though I don't know for sure if that changes it).
AlzaboHD Yeah, I figured out it wasn't the income, but the same bug might work on science output from the cities. However the palace issue might be a thing. Is it showing up in the city buildings list & if so, can you tell if it is contributing to the city like a palace should (could be a ghost palace: you can see, but it's effect on the city isn't happening because of a bug)?
What's a "jag-wire?"
How many hours have you played civilization 5?
Not enough! Last I checked around 300hrs. But that doesn't count the amount I played on LAN with friends on other computers etc
AlzaboHD i've played for about 800 hrs.
UA-cam: "Oh, you finished part two? Let me suggest part 1 and Parts four, five, six and seven!"
Yay
How did you get an archer
Who the fuck uses interlacing in 2015?
***** I... do? What are you referring to?
Is this a standard feature of Civ 5 or something? I didn't notice any interlacing.
