just now realized that the "aquarium" (as my aunt says) that i live in is because of you. been watching you for years & today noticed that i started one plant at a time because of you & your videos. im sure you hear this alot, but its the first time im telling you... so.... lol, ❤️
Thank you for sharing your beautiful plants and stories with us. You make it a joyful interesting experience instead of a job that’s been on the back burner. 💚
I often watch your video - I think it was titled Girl VS Mealy bugs - your Brooklyn apartment videos were very comforting, I'm super happy though that you made A decision for yourself and that you're in the new house! I'm still watching! 🤎
I love those planters 🪴 it's always so great to see you and your lovely plant collection. I really been wanting the Dischidia.. its leaves are so full of texture and beauty 😍 Thanks for sharing with us Summer!
Hi Summer Rayne! I'd like to share a thing I do with planter saucers that let water through. I try to find cork coasters for glasses or for cooking pots. I often get them at Ikea or the supermarket. No water stains on the wooden floors or windowsills 👌🏼So happy to watch you report again, I miss these kind of videos 💗💗💗
Thank you for the suggestion of using the bonsai mix, I like the look. The pots are beautiful and 'earthy'. At the end of your video I saw that your aloe was tipping over. I would use a sturdy twig or such and gently tie the plant to it until the aloes roots grow and anchor it in its new home. Love your channels. Take care sweet lady. Namaste
I do enjoy the professionalism mix with some of the bloopers, stories and comedy in your videos. Just feels so organic and relatable. Please keep that up.
That's a very cool spray bottle! Some of my cactus/succulents actually might be in pots that are too big. The soil towards the bottom half probably stays wetter longer than the top half if the pot is too big. A lot to consider, right light, right water amount, right pot, right soil.
A nice relaxing, informative video! I like to use terra cotta but do not like the water stains and mold that can grow between the saucer and surface under. I paint Flex seal on my saucers to “glaze” them and waterproof them.
I found a tree frog hibernating in the soil of a plant long ago. I identified it as a squirrel tree frog from Florida. I kept him alive with meal worms for a long time until one day he disappeared from his aquarium. How that happened I will never know. Thanks for all the planting tips!
Good advice for us. First renovate or build. That is not a peaceful canvas. Then in closing, use the plans and boxes of accent pieces, for an aesthetic, restful environment. It is an unavoidable dilemna. Visitors break things, but sometimes you want to share your home, without hiding things first. The others can't see your vision in progress. Tell them to watch the channel! Some of us desperately need a retreat, not a playground, but it's an unavoidable, awful lesson in patience, just because we merely want to live and feel at home. Someone will love that Flock Lizard. 🦎
your sweater matches the aloe quite well! i killed my tiger aloe having it in a pot with no hole :( they are very pretty maybe i will replace it. cant wait to see how many plants you can cram into the meadow house haha
Thank you so much for all of these. I look forward to seeing your endeavors and learning a lot from your visits to various places. This is possibly a very silly and absurd question, but I'm curious if you work with all the amazing spaces you visit to connect their efforts and communities to each other? Meaning, we are starting a community "bio dome" project (I'm in Idaho, so there's nothing like it here), which is really just a modest (currently) climate controlled botanical space. It's a herculean effort with a lofty long-term goal, but I am sure curious of all the botanical spaces have interaction type programs to work with each other, to further the education and community interest and participation locally? I feel like every local community could sure benefit from these types of spaces. Thanks for everything!
I'm in chicago so imagine my surprise when little lizard 🦎 was on my plant shelf. The eggs are in the baskets and can take 6 or 7 weeks to hatch. This has happened twice.
Hi there! Lots of videos about light, food and planting mix, but nobody talks much about water PH. Would appreciate if you would. Also what PH some of our plants require.
When repotting, how much of the old broken roots can stay / be put into the new soil and pot? As the broken roots decompose will they add nutrients or will they promote rot?
I left the old roots in there. They didn't seem infected by anything ... I suppose I would just be cautious if some of the old roots had rot or something like root mealybugs.
I boucht a christmas tree with pot. I enjoy this everyday. But after the seasonof christas, I want to keep it and to look after. How kan I do this. Wat are the conditions. Kan that stay outside?

Haha. You do too! Normally I'm not talking to myself when I'm potting ;)
Wow. Glad to hear you have that. I am a Filipino in the Philippines yet I don't have that.. it's my first time to hear about that plant.
You changed the home! The pot is so pretty!

Love your video and advice from that wise person "finish renovation before decoration"
I love those planters 🪴 it's always so great to see you and your lovely plant collection. I really been wanting the Dischidia.. its leaves are so full of texture and beauty 😍 Thanks for sharing with us Summer!
That's too funny you have a lizard. They are all over here in Florida.. So cute you saved it lol I love the planters!
Yeah but premature decorating is so inspiring and makes me, personally, excited in the process 😉🪴💚

Beautiful terracotta pots Summer Rayne!
Ah plants are happy now in their new pots, those planters are beautiful, thanks for sharing Summer!!!

That bonsai mix has become one of my faves. It's really pretty too. Goes perfect with those terracotta plants. Thanks for the tips on the staking.
I always enjoy your videos. They're so soothing.... and of course, educational.
I love aloes! Yours are gorgeous!
You have some pretty pots!
I do enjoy the professionalism mix with some of the bloopers, stories and comedy in your videos. Just feels so organic and relatable. Please keep that up.
good job
You could use a diamond hole cutter and make your own drainage hole. I have bought several pots that for some reason or other did not have a hole.

Lovely 😍😍😍💕💕💕 Where are the diamond doves you had before? I lost track of them 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️

I would love to hear more of your personal opinions. 🤗 another great video and I'm excited to see how things go in the future!

Totally! Didn't think of that. (When you match your plants)
Beautiful plants!! I love those pots do you have a link for those??
Sameeeee question bc they’re beautiful!
The pieces of twine you removed from the pots before repotting-were those part of your watering system in Brooklyn?
Very cool idea. Unfortunately it was just the scan tag! haha

I always appreciate your anecdotes or little stories you share. I would have died from that lizard as reptiles freak me out 😂

@@summerrayneoakes great, thank you! 🥰
Hi. what kind of plant are you carrying in your video, 0:35-0:40 minutes?
I like your channel
I like your gloves! Where did you purchase these?
Aloes bloom in winter. I would give it osmocote now
My espoma cactus mix doesn't look like yours, did you add something to it?
I boucht a christmas tree with pot. I enjoy this everyday. But after the seasonof christas, I want to keep it and to look after. How kan I do this. Wat are the conditions. Kan that stay outside?
