I appreciate all the tips and also, seeing you having no fear going straight in with your scissors, gives me courage to not be too precious with my own million hearts!
I’m letting you know that I personally love the sunstressed mother plant, never seen a dischidia looking like that! Especially with the terra cotta pot, looks stunning!
Good morning Sean from my part of the world...I started propagating due to your positive influence. I've always collected plants for years, but never confident enough to divide or propagate by cuttings... watching your vlogs made it simple and possible for me to not kill my plants 😂👍 I enjoy learning from your content.
Very informative video ! I got one that have Zero sunlight and it 's so great ! As you say this plant doesn t need lot of water to be happy, I can forget it few weeks and it will forgive me for that ! Great work as usual !
I just ordered a small hanging basket of the million heart's. They're expensive in the US but I had to have it. I'm hoping when it gets longer I can propagate some and put it on a piece of bark/plank and hang it on the wall. I love that wire basket you have it's really cute. Thanks for all the care tips! 🦋
Hello from North Carolina, US. I'm so glad I came across your channel. You provide such great tips and information! I am so envious of your plant collection and success. I love that plant and wish I could find it here. It is gorgeous! But I like it more green than the sun stress.
carolyn palmer I need to live around the corner that way I could help you with all these propagations and take some home lol love your videos and jokes
Oh, hey, you uploaded this video on my birthday1 I can't believe how busy I've been. time to catch up on your vlogs! Cheers from the Philippines! P.S. I looove the field in the background! Wow!
I've been enjoying watching you from utah, u.s. & quickly became a fan! My climate is always dry and snowy currently so watching u stick cuttings in soil and then having a whole plant in 30 days is so satisfying 😊💚
Sometimes I encounter plants with mealy bugs in the soil. It makes me cringe every time. I'm always in the dilemma to go organic or chemical in such case (to soak them in). Hope for a video on this issue! Thanks Sean.
I bought a couple of Dischidia here and all of them were grown in coconut husk with just a wire around it to hold and to hang. You are so right it takes ages for them to grow . I'm still getting the watering wrong . Thank you for the video.
Yous video always give useful information and propagation tips. I got a Dischilia heart shape wreath hanging on the balcony for a while. 🤔 Could not remember when and when I got. Anyway it is still healthy and beautiful under my care. 😅
Hey Sean, I'm loving your channel! I was wondering with this plant if propagating it in water works at all? I figure not since you didn't mention it but figured I would ask !
Yes you can but you may need 2 nodes with the lower node stripped off its leaves to do water propagation. I personally find the butterfly method with single nodes a lot more interesting and also get more plant material out of it
Hello Sean. I love your video on care tips and propagation of Dischidia Ruscifolia (Million Hearts). I just wanna ask what is the cause why is my Million Hearts leaves turned yellow. I repot it already with coco peat with coconut husk and placed in a shaded area but leaves still continuing turning yellow. Hope you could help me save my plant. Thanks in advance. Greetings from the Philippines.
I had this before like 6 months ago and I killed it (overwatered) lol. I have such a urge to water everything since I'm in jakarta also and you know how hot it is on july and august. now that I know the proper care for it, I think i'm gonna buy another cutting... oh, and if you run out of coco chips, try shopee. especially on stores selling orchid. they got them too.
I use furadan, sprinkle it on the top soil and it will release powerful chemical toxins. However, you can also water the whole plant with neem oil solution that should take care of the pests too. Repeat after a week to break their life cycle
What was the purple thing you sprinkled on top of the props?? I searched what was on the bottle and i realized you just reused the bottle😂 Also any tips on how to get rid of mosquitoes soil? :( i spray neem oil on the top soil from time to time but we’re still being attacked by mosquitoes
I believe those are fungus gnats on the soil, not mosquitos. They actually live a litle deeper than the surface of the soil so you may have to water the whole plant with neem and over the course of 1 month. Keep in mind they have a life cycle of about 2 weeks and can fly from pot to pot! My recommended method is to bottom water all the plants and let them dry out between watering more. Do check my video out, its titled “fungus gnats”
I swear to god… every time I search up a video regarding a certain plant, you have one!!!
Haha yes 🥰 thats the goal!
You are always fun and informative to watch, my friend! Greetings from the Philippines! 🇵🇭
Thank youu. Stay safe ya 😀

Beautiful Plants...
🌿💚It looks nice sun stressed but I think I prefer it without the sun stress💚🌿
I've been enjoying watching you from utah, u.s. & quickly became a fan! My climate is always dry and snowy currently so watching u stick cuttings in soil and then having a whole plant in 30 days is so satisfying 😊💚
Thank youuu. Hope ya’ll are well in Utah 💖
I am always learning so much from you. I am going to try some soil propagation now. I like sun stressing on hoyas but not as good on this one.
Gradually increase light levels to sun stress a hoya. 😀
Sometimes I encounter plants with mealy bugs in the soil. It makes me cringe every time. I'm always in the dilemma to go organic or chemical in such case (to soak them in). Hope for a video on this issue! Thanks Sean.
I do have a video titled “mealy bugs” in case you missed that 😀
@@onlyplants Oops I do miss the latter part of that video where you mentioned soil mealy bugs. I'm watching the whole thing now. Thanks Sean!
Hi Sean 👋 Wow , what a beautiful plant 🙌 great video Thank you ☺️ 🧤👒🐨🦘🥰🇦🇺
Thank you! I really love your videos.
Thank youuu
Thanks! I have a variegata arriving in mail today!
😀😀
very nice! thanks so much
I LOVE your plants!!!! And you are hilarious:). I love Hoyas’s but gonna start searching for Dischidia too (I have a few). Here in Houston Texas!!
Dischidias are so cool only because they are more challenging haha.
I bought a couple of Dischidia here and all of them were grown in coconut husk with just a wire around it to hold and to hang.
You are so right it takes ages for them to grow . I'm still getting the watering wrong . Thank you for the video.
Take cuttings just in case 😀
Been waiting for this one 👍🏻 Tq so much for sharing Sean🙏🏼
Yous video always give useful information and propagation tips. I got a Dischilia heart shape wreath hanging on the balcony for a while. 🤔 Could not remember when and when I got. Anyway it is still healthy and beautiful under my care. 😅
I love this, although I don't have dischidia, I can use this for my string of hearts 💚
I love how it looks like a fern from far away
Now I have to give a dischidia another chance!
I love and like you so much.. It's really FUN WATCHING YOU..
Thank youu ❤️
Love that last plant what is it
Thats a dischidia dragon jade 😀
I have bought one recently, some of the leaves has gone yellow... is that a sign of overwatering? Great video.. very informative from Sydney
Yep usually thats over watering. May have been a combination of less than ideal light conditions too
Does the butterfly method also work with soil?
Yeppp. Water accordingly though. Soil can get soggy
@@onlyplants Will do! Thanks so much!
I would love to know what the plant is that you show at the end of this video.
I cant remember but the ends of each video hints the next episode 😀
What did you say you used for the mealy bugs? Do you grow Maidenhair ferns? I think you are hilarious (and informative).
Mealy bugs I use neem oil for the most part. I am struggling with a few varieties of maidenhair fern 😅 still trying to get their care right

Thats a classic sign of overwatering, and probably also not enough light (or a combo of the two but most likely the first)
Sean really be on tongue twisters today huh 😁

Very interesting tips to try! 🤓💯
Btw, how do you get rid of that mealy bugs on soil n root?! Really wanna know..
I use furadan, sprinkle it on the top soil and it will release powerful chemical toxins. However, you can also water the whole plant with neem oil solution that should take care of the pests too. Repeat after a week to break their life cycle
I usually use neem oil to spray.. do you mix neem oil with dish soap too? For watering?
💚💚
I have only 1 dischidia n i dont know its name also 😂 . But its flourishing so well n so big.. so easy to care...
Whoaaaa lucky 😀
@@onlyplants 😊
Hi, what is cocopeida?
I’m not sure what you mean by that 😅 do DM me on instagram if you need clarifications because youtube doesnt inform me of your comment replies 😀
What fertilizer do you recommend?
I have a video titled fertilizer, do check that out if you have a few minutes I have a feeling it will be useful. 😀
You did nit show you waterred or not at the beginning
What was the purple thing you sprinkled on top of the props?? I searched what was on the bottle and i realized you just reused the bottle😂
Also any tips on how to get rid of mosquitoes soil? :( i spray neem oil on the top soil from time to time but we’re still being attacked by mosquitoes
Its furadan, a powerful and controversial pesticide banned in developed nations haha.

Why my one turning yellow. What should I do
Is it one leaf or a whole row? If its a row it could be overwatering
