Mixing my own soil is probably my most favorite thing to do. It's nice seeing you do the same! Those big velvety leaves are FABULOUS!!! And hey! That was an exciting peek of the Meadow House floors!!
Hi Summer Rayne, they look so good in their new planter homes!! And the planters are BEAUTIFUL, I especially love the green clay pot with the bettina!!
Hi Summer, I've been following you for years, and just started watching Gilmore Girls. There is a scene where the daughter is looking at an old photograph of her mom when she was in her teens. The photo of young Lorelai looks just like you! I am thinking it is you because of your modeling history. It was fun to notice!
I'm currently not growing any anthuriums. One of my 2023 plant resolutions is to try one! I love Etsy for handmade pottery. A couple of my favorites are DMSPottery and CastorCeramics.
The decorative pots do lend an element of class! I can see the first pot you used with a cacti or succulent. Love the gold cache pot! Very elegant planting. I use mostly terra cotta; I especially like the pots made in Germany that come in darker shades and muted white. Proven Winners is now selling houseplants in the big box stores. Saw a gorgeous Anthurium (forgot the name but I do believe the label mentioned it) but the plants come with a a pricey and not welcome cache pot. Plant people like to choose their own pots. I prefer buying a plant in a nursery pot. Seems like plants are being sold mostly as decor, not for their botanical interest. Might as well sell them in furniture departments or with vases and lamps!!.
Cool pots. Cool plants. Might catch the 'Spring plant and potting soil hunting bug' encouraged by our sun just peeking out too, while watching this video. ☀️🍲🌱
Every time I watch one of your videos I think of the song "Summer Wine" by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood. Get video. I am thinking I might branch out from my Hoya and Aroids to Anthuriums. Thank you for another educational, and entertaining post!
Hi Summer, i really like to lightly pre-wet the medium while I'm mixing it before I pot a plant, to me it gets a nice even distribution of moisture, I actually repotted a shibori anthurium today, used big coconut pieces, like halves and thirds, together with charcoal and immortelle chunks ( the partially decomposed parts of this tree ) and placed it under a mango tree after, it works in my weather in Trinidad and Tobago, wonderful video, make more, I absolutely love them, happy planting Summer. !! 😊😊
Happy New Year and thank you for sharing Summer, that's a beautiful plant and planter!! I've had to repot my Anthuriums so this is perfect timing, oh and my Peace lilly has bloomed for the second time, SO happy I've finally learned how to care for them!!❤️🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼
i bought some lithops that had that hard peat plug thing around the roots, i ended up removing it because it was really hard and dry,.you'd have to really soak your plant for the moisture to penetrate it
I love your anthuriums I don’t have any, but I do you like the look of them. I just don’t have the right light for them but I love to grow the cast-iron plant.
Thanks for this video. How do you know when it's time to repot? I bought an anthurium about 5 years ago-my only one. I don't know its latin name, but it is less than a foot tall with 2-inch green leaves (reddish tinged new ones) and slightly smaller reddish pink blooms. It currently is a nice clump with eight flowers with no yellowing of leaves except one or two at the base every few months. It has been in bloom the entire time I've had it. It loves the full southern exposure of my sunroom. In summer when the sun is higher it lives in front of a mirror in the same room. I feed it twice a year with a half strength dose of Miracle Grow. I follow your advice on watering. When would you consider repotting?
I love anthurium but I’m very new to them. I’ve always loved aroids but anthurium are my new obsession this year. I had none before the new year and now I have 6 of them (crystal noid, villenaorum, pallidoflorum, draconopterum, veitchii, and polyschistum) plus 2 nodes that are rooted but leafless (rubrinervium and truncicola). I’ve heard people say they think all anthurium look the same (in their defense, many of the popular ones are similar in shape and veining) but I think all of the ones I’ve acquired are drastically unique from one another. Hopefully they do well in my care! I wish I could share in your love for peperomia but in all honestly I think it’s my least favorite genus. The only ones I’ve really enjoyed in my collection are prostrata and hope. I’m definitely more of the aroid, Hoya, and caudiciform type.
No idea how I managed to get distracted from such lovely anthuriums but what plant is that back on the counter with the small, round, cascading leaves? 👀
Good morning today is 1/5/23 and while watching the change ur plants out to different pots. I Noticed on The Large one U repotted that the Roots had Started to grow Upwards. Can those Roots be Cut off❓ OR is it best Not! To Cut them ⁉️ I enjoy ur channel 💜
Thanks so much for the "refresher." I am looking into getting a couple more anthurium plants soon. I have an ensuite that gets plenty of natural light throughout the day. Which may be the perfect area to grow my anthurium. On a personal note, from the perspective of a single male that wanted to be single in his 30's. Well, I hate to break it to you, we end up being single in our 50's which is not pleasing at all. I hope you have found someone to "pair up" with.
I have a crystallinum hybrid and they really are easier to grow than the species. That thing has gotten so huge in just a few months and it’s been quite fuss free
Thank you Ms. Summer. Are you going to be moving into the meadow house when it’s done? If your going to rent the meadow house out some people aren’t able to take care of plants? ❄️💚🙃
I tend to fertilize plants that are still growing in the Winter but I use half strength liquid fertilizer vs the amount I use during the Spring and Summer months!! I haven't had a problem with it!! I also leach my plants at least once a month so that no salts build up in the soil!!
Anthuriums are my favorite and I'm trying my hardest but I just can't keep more then one leaf on them at a time. I've been keeping plants for 8yrs and Anthuriums are the only one I still have trouble with. Bathroom full of thriving calathea but can't keep a damn Anthurium alive 🤣
I def can see some clarinervium or magnificum traits but that huge wide sinus is really giving me regale vibes. What is really throwing me off is the insignificant veinage and the bullate texture of the leaf similar to luxurians
@@spikedout2323 the sinus is also giving me regale, but the veinage to me feels like papillilaminum parentage, and I've also seen papillilaminum x luxurians have that semi-bullate leaf texture. So.... Clarinervium x (papi x lux)? Sounds like a hybrid that's hard to come by though
@@you_gullible_fucc Totally agree I'm sure its like a cross of a cross of a cross lol. I was also thinking the same about it possibly having some pap but its really difficult to tell for sure. Absolutely stunning though regardless
Oh man, I'm really looking forward to seeing the meadow house decked out in all these beautifully potted plants!
Im always really surprised to hear you using peat mix. You have such a big following, it would be great to use it to spread the word about peat usage.
Mixing my own soil is probably my most favorite thing to do.
It's nice seeing you do the same!
Those big velvety leaves are FABULOUS!!!
And hey!
That was an exciting peek of the Meadow House floors!!
Ooo...you are making the potting mix sound delicious 😂 like some breakfast cereal 😋
Why is it so relaxing to watch you repot? 😅
Anthurium do love all the humidity you can give them! Surprisingly they enjoy cooler temps too
I love Colombia too, beautiful plants, every plant you may want to have can grow easily there. Vibrant colors. The fruit are deliciously organic!!!!!.
Thanks for teaching me a new word - cache pot 😊
Beautiful plants with beautiful pot makes me happy❤
Hi Summer Rayne, they look so good in their new planter homes!! And the planters are BEAUTIFUL, I especially love the green clay pot with the bettina!!
Love the pots. They all look good in their new homes. Hope they will be happy in their new space😊. Anthuriums can def be addicting to collect hehe.

Your timing is perfect. I have a big one to repot. Looking for the perfect pot. Cheers!
They all turned out pretty!
I love the first pot too.
So very unique!! Thank you for sharing
Love those planters! 🌱🍃🌿
I really like that plant pot. The texture and color very nice.
I love all you post. Amazing.
They look marvelous!! Looking forward to watching where you decide they will go in the Meadow House...exciting!!
I add a couple marbles or rocks under those eco pot bases, it allows them to come loose much easier when I need to remove them from insode

You’re right I’d rather buy my plants in a nursery pot and repot them into a pot of my choosing I always end of repotting my plants anyway.
Thank you for this share,Ahmed from France
Beautiful plants, that will love the new home!

I just repotted my Red Anthurium😊 because its having a root rot from the compacted soil. I might get more of them if this one survive on me🤞
I love anthuriums . Mine are struggling. It's my fault. I'm pretty neglectful .
That mystery plant looks a lot like my Anthurium Clarinervium x Pterodactyl !!
Love your video-you show such interesting plants. s/OLNEY, md

I'm very very surprised that you use peats!
I see they need to go completely dry before watering?
Can we actually fertilize houseplants in the winter? I just changed some of my plants into leca. Should i fertilize it? Please help. Thank you.
