Imagine telling someone you enjoy Mountain Bread, them thinking that you're a lover of the outdoors and baking fresh bread on treks and hikes and what-not, but really you're just hollowing out baguettes and pouring in Mountain Dew as a snack. That's a prime Story Time with Matt inspired plot twist.
I've spoken to Slavic Magic a few times, he was the solo dev on the game for a long time (he's since gotten a little bit of help from Hooded Horse). The man is brilliant, and cares DEEPLY about making the game not feel like just Age of Empires meets Total War meets City Builder. Even down to the authenticity of the equipment and architecture, which is ~1370's-1400 in western Germany and along the Rhine. And it was done like 90% by a single person!
Tip! (Just to give you anguish) You can rename just about almost everything, check it out! But for a real tip, Burgages(houses) are recommended to be built when thay have a little house marker with a +, that mean they can get addittions/upgrades, there should be an upgrade for them to have chickens, they produce food for your settlement?/village?/town?
Cuntz is probably a variation of Kunz (which is short for Konrad), which was such a common name in the medieval ages that "Hinz und Kunz" (Heinrich and Konrad) became a saying, meaning bascially everybody or any number of people. Kunz is actually still fairly common as a last name in Switzerland.
3:04: Technically, oxen are cows. At least as far as "cow" being the colloquial term for all cattle (the actual animal name). A "cow" is a female head of cattle, whereas a male is a "bull" if intact and a "steer" if castrated, and "oxen" are cattle that have been trained to work, or "ox" if just one. Fun fact: there is no universally agreed-upon singular for cattle, so "one head of cattle" is typically used as "one cattle" is grammatically incorrect. Or just "one cow" because we all call them all cows anyways. Point being that ox = cow. 🎶The More You Know🎶

I have to say, I absolutely love "infinite zoom". I know, it's a challenging thing to implement, but after Supreme Commander, every game (especially RTS) without it feels so constrained :D
Really cool to see you play this game, been waiting on it for ages! It's extra awesome as a historical reenactor to see games to take so much time to research and be as historically accurate as possible, and then succeed like this!
Oh, I wish it was my job, it's just one of my hobbies. I just happened to find a society a few years ago and joined. Really is incredibly cool. I get to travel all over the UK and teach people about things I love, and spend lots of time around campfires with awesome people :D
20:56 ive got a weird feeling that (cos many games do this) the more you upgrade your village to bigger sizes, the more you will be attacked by bandits or other villages.. just a guess. but its probably better to get tons of resources and defences first before upgrading lots?
From what I've seen a lot of the weapon making capabilities are locked behind higher tiered plots so you really have to add to your defenses as you go.
As a french men, I do not recon the "Fanta bread" as something humanly made, only the mind of a demon could theorize about such insanity! BRING ME MY GUILOTINE

You need to make the plots of land larger for them to have backyard vegetable gardens, chicken coops, goats and later artisans, but you'll need money for it and the only money to gain is by raid!!
i went to a place where they made a bowl out of really hard bread.. they basically bake a loaf but make it much tougher than normal and then they pour your soup or stew into the bread bowl and you eat it.. some of the bread melts into the stew as you eat it.. but the outer later is too tough to eat.. cant remember where i ate that.. might have been mongolia or nepal..or russia

I love it when city builders conform plots of land to the roads (gives Cities Skylines a bit of a glare), I wish every game did this, it just looks better and, frankly, is more realistic.
For once, someone has taken bits and pieces of Banished, Life is Feudal, Foundation, Ostriv, and a few other primitive city builders and combined them into a decent looking game. The animation and model details are amazing. I vote: play this a few more times so we get a good idea of how things progress and at what point it becomes monotonous.

Polish game! In the Glory times of Poland we had nobility and peasents who worked for them for not money but for a Loaf of bread just to survive. Great times you know, Great times
In Tonga we would hollow out a loaf of white bread and then fill it with a soft drink of some sort, then put ice cream on top like a spider. Delicious, but thoroughly artery clogging.
That's how we made chocolate bread. Buy a bread, pour chocolate milk into it, drink the chocolate milk, and then have great chocolate bread afterwards.

If there are defensive structures, it would be the perfect game.
