i find it mildly concerning that the first thing you have to research is a distress beacon, but completely understandable that the first thing you would need to have access to is a distress beacon
in take and out put are matters of perspective, the in-take is where the machine takes materials into itself off of the belt, the out-put is where the machine puts finished product out onto the belt. In-Put and Out-take would be from the belt's perspective.
@kamilhag5488 factorio is wildly different, different mechanics and such. Satisfactory is a 3d exploration, adventure and automation game. Factorio is a 2d factory management sim only. The difference is that factorio's exploration and automation mechanics are vastly different and less immersive. Theyre both great but theyre mearly similar, not even close to identical :P
Exactly what I was thinking. The intro, the alien planet, the UI design. Planet Crafter also reminds me of Satisfactory (also the intro and the alien planet, but the objective is different and the UI design isn't stolen lol). But if you look on the bright side, the clones just show how good Satisfactory is. Edit: the character design is also "inspired" lol
Well tbf, doesn't have much to do with Factorio except for the research. Not to mention that this is like playing on peacefull. Even Satisfactory had some angry wildlife (dunno if they added something more since the last time I played which was like update 2 or 3) So yeah, it's just you.
I may not be a civil engineer, but I am two classes away from Electrical Engineering Technology. I want to be in the circle of "Fellow Engineers"~! For those who comment, yes it isn't BSEE but I have enough time under my belt from being in the Navy and working as a Project Lead Specialist (not engineer because I didn't have a degree) for a Fortune 100 Company. They trusted me enough to run complete projects and take lead. So now, I want to finish the degree and I have to thank RCE for making me want to do it.
To avoid conveyor hell with outputs/intakes, try to always turn the conveyors towards the intakes when ending them , that way they don't merge with other conveyors you place right beside them in other outputs And also, why did I not expect the efficient drilling when RCE started digging the ground?
I happen to know something that might interest you with dwarf fortress. You can build bridges in it, and use them for both the standard function of crossing gaps as well as more... *unconventional* uses, such as erasing your enemies from existence
Hopefully unlike city skylines 2, this paradox interactive game will actually be finished at launch. I'm glad that they've reached out to the fan base and attempted to make amends. I can't wait to see what they do going forward and if they make institutional changes in order to make sure that polished finished product is going to market.
@@melnkev2010.. because paradox interactive is a smaller studio and theres not really much you can add to CS2 outside of what is already there and what other infrastructure sims have already done...
That may *sound* like a lot but other companies are much more greedy and at least paradox *delivers* on their promises even if they do so late. Bethesda, blizzard, EA and such all charge you for a completely unfinished game (as in maybe two hours of content unless you pay for DLC)
Oh yeah! I remember playing a demo of this game in NextFest. It was fun. Commenting before watching past the intro and looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Nice :) I like Satisfactory, and this one looks a lot like that. I like the infinite world, the randomly genereated maps, and the little drone buddies.
I think I've played this before.. Pretty sure your belt can pass through multiple intakes if you pass it straight through like you accidentally did when you messed up research packs. So you don't need a separate output and belt for each smelter.
As much as I find Paradox to be a fun game company. I don't look forward to this game having hundreds of dollars of DLC and it be impossible to tell which are important and which aren't.
Hey now, rails and stairs aren't architectural only! They're an important part of infrastructure to keep people safe! Engineers should always have safety as their #1 concern!
"Inverse Iceberg" - No, a Iceberg like a pine tree has a larger base and a tip at the top floating above water. And thus the popular saying, "that's just the tip of the Iceberg".
Outtake is specifically used for tv and films. Intake is used for materials taken into something. Output is material produced by the body, machine or factory. Input is "what is put in, taken in, or operated on by any process or system." (Usually applied to data) So yeah, for material objects it should be intake/output. So yay English. lol
The more I watch the video, the more a see factorio in 3d... saw some compare it to a cartoonish satisfactory, but it seems far more simplistic like factorio. Disappointed I hadn't heard of this game, if it was on RCEs radar for a while qwq
I wish that they had just one conveyor and not needed sloped conveyors as a separate item. Then you will need to carry a lot of extra items in your inventory, especially when there are multiple levels of conveyors. You will also need sloped conveyor factory 1, 2 and 3 etc to automate it…
With how those loaders work, they definitely took inspiration from DSP! (Not that that’s a bad thing, the genre’s tiny so more games are always welcome IMO.)
This is literally Satisfactory on a budget as it seems. Not saying it's a bad game, but it's too close of a copy of Satisfactory. + the Minecraft type of interacting with the map
So I just started playing Rimworld myself; Id be interested to see if youd enjoy that game as well RCE; Its like a colony based, resource management, survival, base building, upgrading, researching 2D type game. In a way, kind of but not really similar to Timberborners. I have a question, how do you store all of your games? Im just getting into pc gaming. Ive downloaded a few so far but it got me thinking how streamers and YT gamers store all theirs. Do you just put them on an external hard drive once the series is over or do you delete it and ket Steam or another site remember you purchased ut for you incase you wanna come back to it?
Yeah most places nowadays it's just easier to uninstall games you're done with and redownload them later, unless you live in a backward place like Australia that seems incapable of getting any kind of decent internet speed
I cant play games like these ill get immediately overwhelmed by all the stuff you can do not know where to start then give up😂 glad i can watch someone else play em
8:19 as a software engineer I'm highly offended by that. Of course its a tree, and tree roots are on top, that's obvious. (those things Matt was destroying before, those aren't trees, those are timber, or wood)
No. (Overly) Modded Minecraft is an engineering version of Minecraft. This is Paradox's attempt at Minecraft, expect additional DLC to add things that really should have been in the base game soon after launch.

Factorio Players

"You have fallen into the left nut," one of my favorite quotes from RCE.
“Architect stuff like railings”
I’m sorry, *RAILINGS?!?* Those are *essential* to making safe bridges! Definitely engineering structures
Satisfactory meets Space Engineers, with a splash of minecraft and a hint of DSP.
Jeah, I had to think of Dyson Sphere Project too .. ^^
That's what I see. Hopefully it is the best of all worlds.
introduce enemies and now u have factorio xD
Satisfactory but more cartoon

All by hand or a cross between Hydroneer and Minecraft?
Wow, that research tree ui is not at all a carbon copy of the factorio one...
the opposite of intake is take out, usually hyphenated, take-out. the opposite of output is put-in. but for this game I'd go with load and unload.

You can probabily blame computer scientists for the common representation for a tree to have the root at the top and the leaves at the bottom.
