Compilation of the evolution and selection of the best "LIGHTGUN" games (first-person perspective rail shooters) for all classic platforms (ARCADE, NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3, Dreamcast, Wii).
The purpose of this video is to showcase numerous games from the "LIGHTGUN" genre, which gained popularity in the late 80s thanks to the impressive arcade game Operation Wolf and especially in the 90s with great arcade game series like Virtua Cop and Time Crisis. In this video, I have arranged the games chronologically to demonstrate the evolution of this spectacular genre. The video has an educational focus and aims to preserve the history of video games.
The list is quite extensive, but you can add forgotten games or other suggestions in the comment section. Please note that third-person rail shooters and Laserdisc-based arcade games are not included, as there is a dedicated video exclusively for those games.

@@tehyeh tons missing + a lot of games arent light gun games, they used mounted guns as joysticks, same with a few flying shooters like star wars, the arcade hardware used joysticks not light guns

The Sinden light gun is giving all these games and many more a chance at a 2nd life. It was invented too late for me, as I no longer play games with IRL friends, but 10 years ago I would have gotten 2 of those bad boys right away. Back then, we had to settle for the Wii remote with the 2 RE titles, HotD ports + Overkill :/
Yeah, IRL play dates are very scarse, but I have a Sinden duo for playing with my wife and it's an absolute blast!

One game that you forgot was Namco's "Dark Escape 4D" from 2012. It plays similarly to Deadstorm Pirates (also by Namco), with the gimmick that it also checks your heart rate, which affects the gameplay.

Those 90s light gun games were epic as well as some 2000s games. The Wii games are a bit bland though TBH. Nevertheless, thank you for an amazing list of these light gun games. Your work is very much appreciated 👍

You forgot to put in target: terror that was released for arcades & the Wii in 2007. It was an upgraded version of maximum force with variety of weapons

No hay palabras para describir lo que es este trabajo ! Excelente la verdad ! Todos esos juegos se pueden configurar para jugar con el mouse ?
Si, en los arcade puedes calibrar los punteros con el mouse entrando en el menu test o bios del juego y en los clásicos depende del emulador, pero normalmente se puede activar, aunque hay algunos que he tenido que jugarlos con el pad.
Podrías hacer un vídeo mostrando la configuración del mouse para sega model 2 y model 3

All those games, and I still didn't find the one I was looking for. A 1980's handheld gun shooter, where you shot bad guys in windows and sewer grates etc. It had a kind of 1950's gangster theme if I recall.

What lightgun are you using? Looks like sometimes mouse, sometimes a controller. Not sure if the wiimote motion plus is still the best to use. Multiplayer has been the main struggle i've had setting up a light gun setup with modern screens.

Pero pase lo que pase, jamás voy a dar con un juego que estuvo en los Arcades del Carrefour de Jaén alrededor del 2000, con acción tipo Rambo, a 2 jugadores, con unas metralletas enormes y pesadísimas que había que coger en peso, que ibas en un helicóptero aniquilando a todo bicho viviente.
Yo recuerdo uno que era literalmente de rambo con dos metralletas muy pesadas que estaba muy bueno y creo que todavia esta en donde lo jugue

Did you remember a game where in the first level you fight against skull soldiers that looks like soldiers from Vietnam and the boss level was a combat aircraft? , this game had light guns like the house of the dead, I used to play this game in 2006 more or less

Estaba recordando que habia un juego arcade de disparos tipo 3era persona donde estabas sentado, que eran un tipo de soldados que usaban guitarras creo para disparar y volaban entre los enemigos para poder completar los niveles el arcade era por el año 2007 a 2009 no se si alguien lo recuerde ando buscando el nombre (era por la epoca de carnevil y ocean hunter)

You know a arcade games that has 4 police characters i don't know the title of game, that's the game i play when I'm in the mall. I don't know if it's Time Crisis or something, the 4 characters in that game is, 1st is Police Woman, 2nd Police Man, 3rd a SWAT, 4th is like an Agent.
Bank Panic is NOT a light gun game! It's a 2 way joystick and 3 buttons game!

Half of these games are NOT "lightguns", they are actually "positional guns", the operation is totally different from one device to another. In mame we play everything with the mouse so it's the same, but in real machines things are very different.(Positional guns are essentially analog sticks mounted in a fixed location with respect to the screen. Light guns, in contrast, have no fixed a priori relationship with a display).
La mitad de estos juegos NO son "pistolas de luz", en realidad son "pistolas posicionales", el funcionamiento es totalmente diferente de un dispositivo a otro. En mame, jugamos todo con el mouse, por lo que es lo mismo, pero en las máquinas reales las cosas son muy diferentes. (Las pistolas posicionales son esencialmente palancas analógicas montadas en una ubicación fija con respecto a la pantalla. relación a priori con una pantalla).
Pero el vídeo está centrado con los Rail Shooter de perspectiva primera persona. Se que hay algunos que no utilizan siden lightgun como Bank Panic, pero no deja de ser un juego de disparos sobre raíles en perspectiva primera persona. He descartado los de vista en tercera persona para no añadir más juegos estilo Cabal.
I have to agree with you, however, the world has moved on with Sinden, gun4ir, and other light gun systems that are preserving the format/games, etc. Mame is a classic, yes, mouse, but all light gun tech can also be mapped in that platform. Either way, we should be a celebration of game preservation!
