I feel like Gravitas should be on this list, as its one of the easiest and earliest ashes to get that gives int scaling. (i think its down by the seaside ruins just south of the church of elleh?)

That last one is the Smough Smash from Dark Souls 1! Niccceeee!
There's also a cool gravity move found on the small beach from the first step fast travel point. It's dropped by a large undead type; the enemy is kind of impossible to miss(he's near the ruins on the beach)
Which beach and also where exactly?
@LigmaBallsLol go to the fast travel point called "first step"(the building you come out of at the start), and there'll be 2 beaches behind it go to the beach on the right and head towards the stone ruins. They'll be an 8-foot tall guy with a sword who'll do gravity attacks defeat him and you'll get the move

Reminds me of the mortal blade from Sekiro…just not as far-reaching or deadly. I defeated most of the end game bosses in Sekiro with the Mortal Blade once I got it. I already see this is gonna be something I pursue as soon as I start the game lol.
Bloody slash carried me through a lot of the game, until the bosses got too fast and had no opening to use it
It feels op tbh. Too much damage for so little fp.
bloody slash is sooo slow. by the time i finish casting it, bosses recovered and swings at the end of your slash.

There is one called Gravitas you get from beating an enemy on the beach in Limgrave. It is an AOE magic attack. Pretty good for casters.

Just started as the Prisoner, very good on the Estoc. Pretty weird how weapon arts and infusions are now tied together, but I like it.
My guys who keep asking "how do we use them", if you have something in your left hand, like a shield, it's going to try to use your shield's Ash first. This is usually stuff like parry, but some shields have No Skill (and you can get the Ash for it) so it just defaults to your right hand weapon's. Otherwise, you have to either put away your left hand weapon/shield, or Two Hand your right hand weapon.

6:28 you put "unsheathe" again instead of "ground slam"
My sasuke uchiha build is working out great do far. Start with a samurai, do the smithing stones run and the level up run, 14 faith 17 Dex and 19 vigor, Get the uchi to plus 4 then buy a catalyst and some incantations at the round table hold and watch how easy it is to destroy marget. I'm using Oh flame and flame sling and unsheathe. Can't wait to get the black flame and lightning blade incantations. This game is so damn fun.
Determination also works with spells and is not limited to single hit 😉
I died about 10 times in tha grave at the begging before moving on and i was happy about dying in the dungeon because it was fun dear god was it fun and it's just the beginning.

jokes aside fighting him really showed me how absolutely dog shit the PC port of the game is. I mean for god's sake who thought it was a good idea to require the player to take his hand off his mouse in order to touch the arrow keys? not to mention the camera and lock on feature is incredibly hit or miss

For Sacred Blade, I'd say it looks more like the beam blade that the Master Sword shoots in BotW

I just want to add before going to Fort Height. If you follow the road leading to the Fort, you'll find a npc(Lord Height) he has a small quest to take back that Fort. Might aswell talk to him before heading there.
I used the ground slam to butt slam my way out to godrick. I think the knights over there know my butt smell by now. It can even crush large enemies to submission.

You should talk about what the ashes do to the attribute scaling, im trying to find the best ash that converts weapons to int/dex scaling
If you get the whetblade thingo inside Godrick's castle you can pick to make any ash scale with dex.

Yah redmane flame is the actual best one. It guard breaks every boss and enemy after 1-3 hits with it. Way to good
Ground slam has saved me a few times as well as killed bosses for me
Stormcaller on a Poleaxe is beastly. Saw how the knights in Stormveil used it and I knew I needed this on it.
Nevermind, it fucking sucks compared to the NPC version. Hardly does any damage until the final hit.

@@Voitan You need to level up a weapon and pick good scaling for it before you start seeing a return on certain ashes. This skill actually does good poise damage, but you need to detect a good opening to take advantage. Getting a combo into a knockdown or close to a knock down guarantees a fully charged heavy + a critical if your timing is good. Devastating combo, but not nearly as easy to use as other ashes.
If only one of the best early shields wasn't a low drop from that camp lol Oh well, more souls :P

Wild Strikes plus summons absolutely carried me through Margit. only got the game yesterday and really felt like id cheated.
Most of these are available just from...regular arms. Though Sacred Blade is a standout. It allows a weapon that does Holy damage, and will then scale with Faith. Also, the beam that erupts, and while the weapon is sheathed in gold, is the only way to permanently kill Undead types.
Nah, you can just slap them once while they're glowing and trying to get up and they just give up and no longer revive.
Literally any damage will do, granted the weapon needs to hit low enough to reach the floor skeleton
Yes, the point of these is being able to put them on OTHER weapons.
Wild strikes have gotten me thru some tough fights 😂💪🏽

same here. i struggled with blood finger nerijus since i attacked yuri on accident and he wouldn't help me. I put mighty swings on my axe and it literally cheesed the boss, he didnt get one attack off.

Hello there, great video, I accidentally press “Leave” in my Ash of war Sacred Blade, did I lose it forever? I thoght “Discard” would do that but apparently “Leave” it’s the same
Unsheath is godlike, honestly playing the game with it is kinda easy mode

So if you have a weapon that already has an art attached to it--can I replace it with another. Currently trying to do that with the Crystal Sword but I'm not seeing an option to do so, unsure if because it's a unique weapon or...?
Not sure if unique weapons can but normal weapons with weapon arts can have them overrided. Like i have been using a dismounter + wild slashes for the whole beginning part of the game, even though it has the default weapon art of spin slash.
Ground Slam's title intro says Unsheathe btw ^^
It is SO very hard for me to not watch these videos... The problem with this game is that you can run right past something VERY important... I'm talking about, running straight past the place that give you the ability to use ashes of war, or run right past the place that will allow you to summon spirits.. I mean Crusual stuff...
Why would you run straight to the castle though that’s so far from where you start and there’s a million things just given by exploring the place

These Ash of War is more relate to PVP
For your PVE you need something buffs you
I use 2 katana. And 1 sacred blade the other one is bloody slash. So goıd for now
I fully decided in the future that I will create an Elden ring ‘bloodtinge’ build after I found the bloody slash on my own
same, i want to do a dual blade bloodtinge build lmao
Im already doing it with bloody slash and the blood dagger pretty fun as gives you very mixed ranges andvlots of versatility

the beetle for sacred blade wont spawn for me :/ thought I might have already gotten it but nope
One thing to note is sacred blades holy damage only seems to have any effect during the Ash of War buff 😭, imo I much pref the perm damage buff like in souls, rip holy paladin plan
@KleamBrapison You need to find the Ash of War: Golden Vow. It has Sacred affinity which adds Holy damage and Faith scaling.
@@CraigTTrevor sacred blade gets faith scaling as well but from what iv seen it only get the holy damage while your weapon is yellow (art applied) rather then a constant additional damage, iv not fully tested but I only hit for the extra holy dmg during buff from a brief test
You can get a sacred whetblade to get the permanent faith scaling
You have the last one labeled Unsheathe instead of Ground Slam

I got teleported to Caelid by accident and found Meteoric ore blade a katana with int scaling. It's at caelid waypoint ruins or caelum ruins in a chest.
Edit: teleport is under the burnt dragon ruins a bit away from the first step
Please elaborate, I'm starved for int scaling weapons. What do you mean 'under' the burnt dragon ruins?
@@thesecondsin1 There is a big swamp around the middle of limgrave when you first enter a dragon pops up and around that swamp there is a ruins where some undead are chillin

You need to find a special item that lets you put ashes of war on weapons, it's in a ruin near the start, around where you should have first gotten your horse. There will be some stairs to go underground, it's in a chest there.
so all these special skill are lock on to one weapon class or any weapons can be use on any skill that found?
On the descriptions of the Ashes of war they say what weapon type they can be equipped with
When you equip and ash, does your weapon lose power ? I always see red numbers on armaments when I attach an ash
it loses when you change it's affinity, you can choose if you want to or not when selecting the ash
When you equip an Ash, it gives you a list starting with Standard. Leaving it as Standard just leaves the stats alone and you can use the ability, but you can choose any of the other Affinities to change how your stat scaling works with that weapon. For example, if you use the Heavy affinity, it'll make it scale more off of Strength and nothing else. This DOES make the base damage of the weapon weaker, but could mean that with the better scaling from your stats, it does more damage. Be sure to do the math to find out.
Later on, you will obtain an item that allows you to modify the basic physical scaling an ash of war gives you. Right now you have to take what it says it gives - quality scaling for instance makes a weapon much weaker until lategame, you'll need like 40 and 40 in strength AND dex to start feeling a return, but the base damage goes down a ton. My advice would be to save your sword keys, because even legacy dungeons have locked areas.

I'm going dual Uchigatanas and want to know whats better Bloody Slash or Unsheathe? Anyone have opinion to share?
Bloody Slash has a broken damage modifier that will probably get nerfed in the first balance patch.
Unsheathe does very good poise damage and acceptable damage on top of it.
Whichever you need for those purposes.
A easily overpowered Frost type Ashes of War, you need to reach the Right side of the Manor to look it from the invisible scarab that rolls in a pattern.
There is a warp from the North of the Lost Grace in the lake itself, on the path of the broken bridge to the city in the middle of the lake. You see a small 'circle' island in the waters, which has a warp portal.
It sends you all the way north west of the map near a ruins to the north of which you can go up there, attack the center of this massive wall blocking further passage northward, and you will find a Giant blacksmith and a Lost Grace, and the Manor to the north east of that location being protected by a system.
To the far east of that manor is a clearing which a scarab, and you get the stomping skill frost ashes of war which is so damn overpowered against most trash enemies since it can one shot them if you are a mage. Against tougher mobs, they have no choice but to get frostbite if you spam the stomp attack over and over again...
Frostbite basically causes increased damage taken from other sources, in addition to stamina reduction and slowing the target down a bit. And it's only 10 FP to use it one time.
Can you be more specific about the location or the actual name of the Ash of War? A "Frost Ash of War" does not exist. How far east of the manor is the clearing with the scarab? What is the nearest Site of Grace?
@@EEEEBE Id you know where the Blacksmith Iji is, follow the path to the manor north east but keep going past the manor to the east side of it. Invisible Scarab rolling around.
The Manor itself has the grace for warping.

In storm veil castle in the church when you talk to the sorcerer he will eventually show up in the hold. If you talk to him he will give you his weapon and you can take the ash off of it. If I’m remembering correctly lol

I accidentally got bloodhound step by stumbling on the boss and running away he chased after me up the hill of poison traps and died immediately I was like WTF!?!
Me too! He took little damage then all of a sudden he was dead in a split second. I didn't even get the health bar go down.
I don't like that you have to unequip left hand to use. Kinda ruins them for me if I need a shield.
Just buy the ash: No Skill, so you don't have to unequip the shield to cast the move that is set to your weapon.

broskis, is there a good ash for strength scaling? i use the colossol greatsword and go for a strength only build and most of the ashes i found are taking down my strength scaling
Wild Strikes I believe scales with just strength. Its the favorite skill of those I've tried although I'm using it on Axes
You want Lion's Claw, from Caelid. Alternatively, you want Stomp - Sweeping Slash, which is in Limgrave, the coastal cave beach has an invisible bug you have to track by it's footsteps to hit and kill.

How do you summon the spirits. I have a summons and every time I try to use it my character like reaches in his pocket for something but nothing happens
if you travel back to the first church you encounter via fast travel, a new npc will spawn there, talk to her and say you're the rider of torrent, you'll be able to get it then

Kinda useless if u only cast yea. But if u two hand a weapon ever u should have a good ash on it
@@waywardlucky3194 There's also the Ash of War (which he really should have mentioned) called "No Skill". You put it on shields, and it makes the shield no longer have a parry or w/e else, this makes the game default to using your main hand's Ash instead without having to two hand.
There are ashes that give Int scaling and innate magic damage to the weapon. Gravitas is obtainable in Limgrave immediately.
You'll meet magical teachers that offer magical style weapon arts that do the same.

Every Ash says what weapons it's usable on. Bloody Slash says "Usable on all swords (except Colossal)." So, no, daggers can't use it.

I just started playing and I’m trying to dump bloody slash for one that uses just FP/Stamina cause I keep not paying attention to how many times I’ve used it and just kill myself like an emo middle schooler.
What is the difference between standard and quality?
Stat scaling. I believe Quality makes something scale off of both Strength and Dexterity. You'll later find others, like Heavy which scales on Strength alone but more than Quality does. You use these to make your weapon better for the stats you're building. Standard puts it to the weapon's default.

Quality severely weakens base damage but attempts to improve both dex and strength. Weapons have their own innate scaling, so this influence varies. Caestus have favorable scaling for dex and str naturally, while something like a Katana will lean more towards dex even with quality. Quality also suffers from you needing like 35+ in both stats to start really seeing a return outscaling the base damage nerf. Unless you are a super dedicated quality build, standard and basic enhancement with smithing stones does more for you early/mid game.

@@UnsettlingDwarf I was wrong about the Katana in my example, it seems to have become a natural quality weapon - equal scaling to both. Everything else was accurate though. A better example would be daggers > keen, and hammers > heavy will still usually scale better than quality even with a quality build until lategame, with 45+ in both stats, etc.
