    ...
This is a $150 Cinema Camera that can shoot 5.2K 14bit RAW video.
Let me provide some context to help you understand the significance of these specifications.
For comparison, my Sony A7S III can shoot 4.2K 16-bit RAW video externally and it costs about $3500.
this tiny camera that can literally fit in the palm of my hand, can shoot in 14-bit RAW at a higher resolution of 5.2K and it only cost about $150.
Despite its affordable price, this camera offers exceptional value.
So if you're looking to upgrade your video gear from using a phone, this tiny little camera can provide you with very high quality photo and video without breaking the bank.

it « can » shoot 5.2k 14bit RAW, but for about 1.2 seconds…people need to
realize that before spending 150$. Instead, shoot in 4.2K 10bits and you’ll be fine.

If you overexposed it actually can record about 5 seconds, but if you expose properly it can record longer but still in orange not green. The solution is to lower the bitdepth to 12bit and you'll get green indicator. The crop factor in 4.2K mode almost 2x compared to no crop in 5.2K mode. But it also depends on the memory card that you use. May I know what SD card did you use?

@@mzartFilmsproblem with lowering the bitdepth is that the sensor encodes the light values linearly and stores them in that format. Meaning the first stop of light would be 2 and then doubling it becomes 4 and so on. By the time you reach 12 stops or 12bits its at 4096.
You could say thats 12 bits but now we have a bigger problem. 2 of those bits are used for noise data so effectively you have only 10 bits for the actual signal meaning 10 stops. The 2 bits or 2 stops are effectively drowned in noise. To get the full 11.2 stops you need to shoot in 14bit RAW.
If you wanna see what i mean. Shoot in 10 bit, 12 bit and 14bit with the shadows being underexposed. Then lift them up.
I guarantee you the 14bit one can be lifted just aswell as the the RAW photos the camera takes.
When it comes to Linear RAW the bitdepth is not just about the colors, it's literally the signal itself.

This was perhaps true months ago, but not anymore. People are getting longer shots with 5.2k 14bit RAW on this camera now.

I see this camera popping up on eBay in Germany quite frequently, and with magic lantern already installed. Some are even offered with the SanDisk sd cards included. That should tell people something.

Its not really 5.2k. Its anamorphic stretched . The maximum true resolution it can record is 3.8k internally

    • @mzartFilms
      @mzartFilms  10 місяців тому +2

Yeah, it's true. But at least the video is sharper than the stock firmware video. And I think it sharp enough compared to my m50 mark II 4K. not as sharp as real 4K video though.

It's not even 3K. I counted the effective pixels and it comes up to 3.8MP @ Full Sensor Width Mode aka 5.2K Cinemascope or 4.5K 16:9.
      It's just slightly less than 1440P aka 2.5K effectively. At 4.8K Cinemascope and 4.2K 16:9 it's 3.2MP aka 1350p.
But paired with an exceptionally sharp lens and good upscaling like superscale 2-3x in Resolve this thing can get crazy close to 4K of todays cameras

@@vd9795 yes, and the main problem is, if we need to expose properly sometime under expose a little bit, because if we overexpose the record time will be shorten. The sensor become too sensitive to the light. I've already explain it a little in this video ua-cam.com/video/qrv94PJSErE/v-deo.html
