  • In this episode of First Person Defender, we focus on the challenges of transitional areas, particularly entering and exiting a car. Our Defender, Laura, is new to concealed carry. Although she has some firearms training, she lacks experience with force-on-force scenarios.
For this training, we put Laura in various situations to test her situational awareness, composure under pressure, marksmanship, and ability to draw from concealment. Specifically, in this scenario, we assess her skills in using stealth and misdirection. The episode is hosted by Ryan Gresham, with training provided by Chris Cerino.
As with every FPD episode, the intensity is high, the training is valuable, and the lessons are painful for both the "good guys" and the bad.
This episode of First Person Defender is brought to you by ‪@TheColtFirearms‬ ‪@RugerFirearms‬ ‪@RangeReadyStudios‬ and ‪@t4e‬.

I really liked the awkwardness of the scenarios, because the uncertainty of what to do and correction of what needed to change proved to be a great learning opportunity. Definitely learned something myself!

On Active Self Protection channel...ASP. These scenarios are useful but you can learn some really valuable lessons from real life (and death) videos.

Great video! She treated it real and I’m sure felt nervous. More young women should take steps to learn and train. Proud of her for never missing a shot and learning! This is just the first step for her I’m sure

"I blacked out" -- a defense attorney's worst nightmare answer because now her testimony is worthless. The prosecutor would have a field day, even though the shooting was justified, because Laura couldn't recall what happened. "You said you blacked out, so why did you shoot?"

Omg, she seems like the type that during an armed robbery she'd flee in her car after her boyfriend/ husband got shot then drive away and film a TikTok video for her followers. 😂😂

Laura needs situational awareness training first, we stopped in a shit town in Fl, to get gas, zombies in the area, first thing my wife says where is it, showed her and she took control of it JIC.

She’s taking steps towards it. I think it’s great younger women are wanting to learn how to react responsibly in these situations! She treated it real and will continue to improve! Great video.

She keeps saying "Lol I blacked out, I don't remember any of it to teeheehee!" and laughing, but it's actually really not funny and really not okay.

She is not ready to carry a gun she should leave it at home until she is ready. She keeps laughing like it's funny l.. It's not funny when you are shot dead and your gun is taken away from you.

A one off lesson like this will only teach her a fraction of these things. The only way to actually learn these things is through repetition and practice. The use of paint cartridges would be invaluable but not free so that is an issue!

She is in a gun training course and her primary plan of action is to try and run the guy over in a prop car? What?

Most young women probably prefer to only shoot if they have to. I think she was trying to learn when to draw and when it could be de escalated. She’s learning! More young women should take these courses!
