Edgar can actually slap down Sorin? What is his power level? Or is Sorin just pulling his punches?
Earlier in the story, Sorin implies that he could control the planeswalkers with his blood magic, to the extent he could walk them away like puppets. I suppose much of his power is derived from such magic, which I assume is impotent against his own kind.
He definitely was pulling punches
Sorin isn't fully there. He still has a lot of mental issues that may be effecting his fight performance. And he's likely pulling his punches
Pulling cause he loves him
Sorin is obviously pulling punches. He doesn't want to fight gramps.
Ever since I started playing magic Sorin has been my favorite plains walker.
Love that we finally get to see how strong Edgar is.
So sad to see Sorin's love and work he's done for the plane get tossed out like that by his grandfather. I really hope Olivia is controlling him. At the same time I kind of think this might be a nice end to old Innistrad by killing Edgar. Thanks again for the read 😀
Sorin: Grandfather i don’t want to fight you.
Edgar: Have at you.
Still waiting for Edgar to say anything smart to match up with Sorin's descriptions lol
If that doesn't turn out to be a false memory implanted somewhere along the way I'll be massively disappointed in the "tell, don't show" nature of this whole thing.
Edgar is not himself, this has been hammered into us since his awakening.
Hell even his card name points to this.
with this amount of plot holes making the story look like a swiss cheese i just stopped caring, its a good story for who doesn't know the characters or has ever read a book there's no continuity at all with characters that are completely different and more or less braindead based on the writer holding the pen.

@@Enja_Near Except we got a flashback already or did you forget?
Your passion for the lore is evident here. Your voice acting really brings the story to life. Thanks for your hard work.
“I hope everyone is enjoying their own personal Festival of Lights. That includes you, Olivia Voldaren.”
Olivia Voldaren: *_Screams in holy angelfire_*
I need more of Edgar! He’s Big Daddy Vamps. I would love more lore and cards of Edgar’s early years as the first Vampire
I’m loving this series so far! I’m really looking forward to seeing how this concludes. I wish there was a lore book of Innistrad, I’ve always liked the sets a lot and I don’t feel like we get enough from the stories they put out. Your videos on the series are my favorite!
I think the art book might be the closest we have atm?
The discourse between Edgar and Sorin was fun to try and figure out what was there all along and what was muddles through Olivia's machinations.
Just take a minute to picture your grandpa wearing goth’d out full finger rings and a cape. That’s how Edgar do!
This is why we respect our elders, kids.
They slap,hard.
Sorin an Edgar have always been 2 of my faves from MtG lore and even though the chapter was a bit short,I have to say the writing for this set has been a consistent step up from past arcs.
Then again,i'm a sucker for Innistrad.
Well done on the reading,sir.
"ridiculous but accurate" is what I want on my headstone
If Sorin really wants to get back at Edgar and Olivia all he needs to do is let loose one little spaghetti monster named Emrakul from the moon. Make MTG cosmic horror again.
Good prediction. It does seem like that could happen eventually. I wonder how he'd be able to do that though (and control the power of Emrakul given that he wants Innistrad to be safe).
Honestly so happy with Crimson Vow and the story has been great!
Always hyped to catch these lore videos. Thanks for your effort! Appreciate it.
Thanks for this one!
I didn't expect Edgar to be so formidable.
Edger is like Vincent from Underworld, setting outdated ways.
Looking forward to the compilation of this!:)
Love this story. Especially when he mentioned Avacyn!
These videos have to be my most anticipated lately. They just don't come fast enough 😁
This is some good stuff! Getting to see these two come to blows and work through their long built up frustrations and anger is nice. Thanks for sharing another great chapter! Looking forward to the next one! Happy Hanukkah!
These lore videos really out here getting me through the day
Loving the series thank you
I love how the chapter hints on how powerful Edgar is compared to Sorin even though the latter is a Planeswalker :)
Amazing work! Would love to see past stories like this.
Great job as always!
Love the videos!
can't wait to see how Sorin puts his grandfather back in his place.
Meanwhile on the moon, Emrakul is just looking down and thinking.
*These mortals are quite amusing. Oh look, they're doing a wedding...and it's ruined.*
This is such an exciting story it almost feels criminal that the videos are sooo short haha. Can’t wait to see how it concludes.
Probably one of the most heart wrenching moment in magic for me. 😭😭😭
Very nice love the videos
great vid!!!
I always enjoy watching these videos when I sort my cards. Makes it more enjoyable.
I've always felt that ad strong as the Planeswalkers are, they seem to get sold short when they're involved in any combat situation.
Unless their magic is especially tailored to combat, like Kaya's. Arlinn, Vivien, Elspeth, Garruk, and Gideon also come to mind. It makes sense that they be more competent in combat than, say, Jace, Nissa, or Teferi.
Love it that were getting more info about Sorin's family and the vampire history of Innistrad. 😁
Love listening to this. Can't wait for the next one.
I love the effort put into all of your videos, keep up the great work!
Thx for all this lore
woa, i have been waiting 4 a sorin vid. 100% satisfied.
This is absolutely spectacular
It's so cool to hear some more about a character that has always been around, but in the shadows lurking in the background. Now he gets to take center stage, and he also gets to look awesome kicking the crap outta a full blown planeswalker. So what's really going on here?
I have tired brain, but had a thought while watching the video, that in magic, vampires are just angels one tier down.
They generally cost a little less, are a little less strong, but tend to have flying and lifelink as their traits like angels do.
So it's a nifty idea that they're some kind of twisted creation born from angel blood, fitting between the genus' of their origin; generally superior to humans, but generally lessor than angels. 🤔
Best lore of the last few years in my opinion.
Sorin's parents being alive at least when he became a Vampire was a surprise, I assumed they were dead by then, likely from the famine
I wish the chapter was a little longer, but still great! I hope we see the return of Emrakul and the Eldrazi soon, kinda disappointed the fact she's in the Moon has kinda been forgotten about.
We are of the same mind. More Eldrazi on more planes with a freed Emrakul is everything the multiverse needs. And more Eldrazi titans.
Has there been any mention of Emrakul/eldrazis?
we probably wont see her for a while. It hasnt been that long since she was sealed and she herself said she needed to wait.
@@jetvoidweller hopefully they don't do what D and D did with Game of thrones- "we kinda forgot about that"
Always make time for these videos I love this content and I love the lore just as much
Thanks again for the story
im just a sucker for vampire stories and being new to magic and this being the second set i have been around for. the timing could not have been better!
I have really been enjoying this channel again, started back again with the midnight hunt series, I forgot how much I enjoyed the story as well as playing with the cards.
These Crimson Vow lore episodes have been great Innistrad is such an interesting plane.
It looks like the story is building up to a grand reveal of some sort...can't wait for the next part! :-)
Keep the good work up and you will reach 100k in no time
Happy Chanukah! Did you just say that Olivia should step into sunlight?.... I agree. 👍
Story does not disappoint!
Always loved your lore videos, looking forward to kamigawa!!
Getting some serious Geralt of Rivia vibes from Edgar in that 1st picture.
Sorin gettin whooped around…hmm that sucks. Bloody good show mate
Hey Seiben been a long time fan and love your lore vids man. Keep it up
you make good content
I'm really digging the way you deliver the lore and how you're able to expand on character backgrounds. I was wondering if you've ever covered Tessebik and Masrath? I really thought they'd do something with them but I haven't found any info on them as of yet. Still, I had to wait decades before we got more on Garth so I guess there's always hope.
Please tell me I am not the only one who got "Hypnogaia - Scorned" playing in their head.
My first encounter with edgar was when my uncle bought me his commander deck for Christmas
Best part of waking up. Aether in your feed.
How are you still not at 100k subscribers!? You're easily in the top 8 mtg content creators imo
Can’t wait for next chapters
The alt art for this card is really good
Oh wow... Sorin and Edgar are going to have a LOT to talk about if either makes it out alive
I NEED more lore I can't wait til the next video
this is truly an epic battle and finally get more details on their backstory
I’m so glad I got the original Edgar back when he was $15
Not my favorite story but still love your videos! Love your commitment to the voices
I love getting more history from the best plane in the multiverse
I'm super happy to finally have some more story for Edgar! He's been one of my favorite cards since his release in the commander decks awhile back
I really love all the Crimson Vow Story
Nice story telling again, love to hear you, relaxing a breakfast in the weekend.
Like you said on the end, I would have loved a bit more story about Edgar; what did he had in mind for innistrad, why is he so disappointed with sorin, why did he go to sleep for so long, didn't he get anything from the whole eldrazi invasion. Who is sorin to him, why did he pick him.
So many things left open, just one tiny flashback.
they easily could have mixed in a few more, where reality and memory seems to blur before Sorins eyes, where Edgar was once proud of Sorin and saw a bright (vampire) future, but Sorin ruined it (in Edgar's eyes) and therefore Edgar escapes for now.
Doesn't make me want to hear you tell the conclusion any less, but I feel the was a little bit more dept and emotional moments just for the taking here. So far love the story and I feel like this was better written than most of the recent stories. I also really like the bonds that seem to grow here and there. I hope there are follow ups on that in other stories too.
I'm so stoked to hear this. Edgar is such an interesting figure
The fight between Edgar and Sorin is giving a slight Castlevania vibe.
Definitely want some more story for the two of them. Glad to have what we've got though.
Story does feel diluted. So much potential and they just give us crap.
Good luck on the 100k tho! Love the videos!
The story of Sorin and Inistrad would make an amazing set of movies or animated shows.
Looking forward to the conclusion of this story arc!
Clash of the Markovs! I’d been looking forward to this, but man…I really wanted a bit more to Edgar’s personality…maybe he’ll get there…after [redacted] but I guess he technically was JUST introduced.
Man, Edgar really threw some tarnishing words at Sorin there. If wasn't for his work, Innistrad would be a dead plane by now.
I'm enjoying that this story is a lot more developed than we've seen in a while, however, I'll admit there really haven't been any plot twists. We're getting more information about characters, but they're all generally being fleshed out to be exactly what you'd expect.
We're so close to knowing more. Hopefully it doesn't end up taking as long as finding out how Sorrin got out of the wall...
I love the vampires of Innistrad. I almost quit magic back when Edgar's commander deck came out and it pulled me right back in.
I really love the lire and it's amazing 👏
I hope they don't plan on killing either of them off anytime soon, both Edgar and Sorin are great and I want more back story and development on them
Hopefully when we come back to Innistrad we go more into the past and get Sorins parent lore
I got this feeling they used bill Nighy as template for Edgar in that image, very wise choice
:D I hope see more storys
The other planes and monsters comment really scares me for flying spaghetti monster
We need more Innistrad lore!
Loving our newest outing to innistrad
Imagine that it has to be hard pill to swallow not only for Bolas but for Sorin as well being once plane shaping god in a sense more powerful than real tangible gods of some places and now suffer and being lowered down by the hands of mere vampires. Though elder vampire could be an obstacle to overcome even for oldwalkers as baron Sengir showed us all those years ago.
That'd be awesome. I just started playing
