- In this video I show how to make simple throwing knifes from old recycled coil spring. I learned quickly that throwing knives is pretty fun and addictive!

That tree will think twice before sneaking up on you again.
I love how Torbjörn looks like he works in a tech support office yet his level of neatness in blacksmithing is very difficult to come by.
I’ve seen professional blacksmiths with twice the amount of tools at their disposal produce some awful ingots for blade smithing and they have to grind their week away. Your precision is a gift and I’m delighted that you share it with us each time you post a video.
Thanks!!
Believe he'd is educated for CP type work and background but return to his parents home to raise his family and guess had been helpful for them to have back home. Hopefully I not mistaken. I certainly don't mean any disrespect into his life but wish him the best.
Sir I'm also a gardener but older. I'm not as flexible as in my youth.
Before I'm unable I'm building tools to keep me gardening longer.
You probably know older people who also aged and still veggies.
I'm planning a long set of tongs for thinning my tiny seedlings such as your carrots will need thinning
You can help promote some gardening tools for us older and handicap people who are not quite ready to stop gardening we love our veggies and little fresh air brings joy to many.
I'm always amazed by your Blacksmith skills but throwing skills you're needed more practice Buddy love your shop skills.
I built a mini post hole digger for setting my seedlings such as tomatoes and peppers.
BIG THANKS 😂
A true skilled master.
I'm still, after so many years of watching, amazed at the level you produce. Not only the skill at forging and blacksmithing, but photography and gardening. Wonderful escape to sit and watch you.
Thank you Robert!
My dad used to operate a huge hammer for US STEEL. Seeing you operate yours with a Midas touch reminds me of him. I really appreciate your videos.
To me, your the best blacksmith on UA-cam.
Thank you.
Thank you Bob!
you’re*
Art in hand (hammer), thx for upload!
Cheers from Poland 🇵🇱 🍻
Love your editing man! I’m always excited to see how your going to “cut” material
:) Thanks
It always makes me chuckle.
Jest super- mało kto tak potrafi. Szacunek wielki!
Reminds me of how I've seen This Old Tony doing the same thing.
Ohhh, not only cutting! I also love those gardening "inserts". In this he reminded me how my grandma used to plant seeds in the soil, making first an indentation with a pole from a rake. Thanks Torbjorn! It was really pleasant to find that memory from my childhood :D
Beautiful work as always! Also, I always love the nature portions & seeing your amazing garden. Can't forget about the cats either!
Thank you! 😊
The best intro ever.
Hi, it is too long since I left a comment, so here it is. :D It is ALWAYS a pleasure to watch you at work + you have two wonderful children. Cheers.
I really appreciate how you take time and care even on a simple thing like making a target for your knives. you do it right, even for something that really doesn't matter that much.
Thunder bear 🐻 becomes a warrior 🤣🤣 love this torbjorn. Thanks for sharing
:) :) Thanks Nathan!
kkkkk I love the magic to cut steel. A hug from Brazil friend!
I had to chuckle to see that we close our garden rows (@10:42) with the same one-handed crab "scootchy-scootch". It's the best ! But we use different "tapping" techniques to produce the precise flow of seeds from the packet. I will soon experiment with your two-handed tap, which is quite different than my one-handed tap. You see, I hold a corner of the packet between thumb and middle finger, using the index finger of the same hand to do the tapping. A small matter, as we both probably proceed with thinning the seedlings in a similar fashion. Best wishes for a bountiful garden to you ! And thanks for yet another enlightening video !
:) Thanks Peter.
Ahh! The introduction is great. Love the sweater! 🤠❤🔥⚒
:) Made in Iceland!
🤣😂🤣 Thanks for the smiles! Great video.. as always.
Thanks!
Forging a double edged knife with ease! That's how you know you're a really good blacksmith! Very few people can forge bevels that good without grinding, let alone a double edged knife 🗡️ !!!
Thank you!
Torbjörn - the scandinavian ninja :D
I love your lifestyle man that’s what im working towards. Doing crafts in the shop until it’s warm and bright enough to tend the garden.
Now that looks like fun!
Those turned out nice, should provide you some stress relief. Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.
I just love smithing videos from Torbjörn
As much as I love the blacksmithing done in your videos, your garden intermissions are my favorite part of the videos. Cheers
Mild mannered Swedish blacksmith has a secret identity.
Ta-poketa-ta-poketa-ta-poketa...
I loved your skulking through the bushes.
:) Ha ha
Викинг , лицо у вас в лесу , ну просто , умора !🤣👍👍👍
These are a pretty cool build.
Now you need to make some throwing axes, like a tomahawk or maybe a double bit throwing axe(s)...
Id definitely would like to see that...
It's on my list somewhere...
Blacksmith, gardener, magician, chef, and now assassin, you are a man of many hats :) Love the build as usual, and it's really nice to see you smile. Thanks
:) Thanks!
Thanks 👍
Always fun times on this channel! And somehow relaxing in the same stroke...
Thanks for that!
The movements, the editing, even gets his son involved! The techno rhythm. Love it 💯👌🏽💪🏽
Snapping steel into pieces is one kind of magic - Another even more impressive kind of magic is the editing required to make it look absolutely seamless. SO impressive!
I always love to watch your projects, and I'm increasingly impressed by your videography! This ending really had me laughing :) Keep up the good work, Thunder Bear!
Ha ha, thank you so much Thomas!
Heartly thanks for your easy to cut and to forge ant-fishlipping technic. Estimated time savings: nearly infinite ;) As u say in Germany: Alter Schwede! (Expression of approving astonishment, in lättöl-language: Gammlar svensk! XD)
Great post my friend. I always enjoy tuning into your newest post. Stay strong, free, happy and healthy ✨️
Thanks!
Gorgeous craftsmanship as always!
Залипательные видео ролики у вас. Мне очень интересно наблюдать за процессом! Круто!
Thanks!
Wonderful garden!!!
Thank you!
You make it look so simple, but you can not fool me master blacksmith Torbjörn 👍👍 Poor little defense less birch tree 😊
Nice video! Greetings from Egypt!
What a great talent! Joy to watch.
You live in a very beautiful and pleasant place, Torbjörn! Congratulations!
Always a good morning to see a new video from you Torbjorn.
I like your skills as a blacksmith, and I like that you still nourish the kid in you 👍
Thanks!
Tack Torbjörn. Ditt utmärkt arbete är alltid lärorik och roligt att se.
I really like what you do , it's very difficult now to find knife making videos were 99% of the work is done by forging instead of 99% being made with grinding !
Comedy timing gold at the end sir, wonderful.
:) Thanks
Great job can’t wait fo the next video.
Very nice. Greetings from Upstate NY. I laughed when you tickled the earth.
:)
Ending was as we say something you know that thing they say! Nice throwing knives. Thanks for posting...
Great looking knives.
Loved your work, like always 🥰😊🙏
Love your videos. Always enjoyable. Such wonderful craftsmanship. The pride you have in your work certainly shows through.
Thank you so much 😀
Great video as ever, I'm appreciating them even more that I've started an internship on the archaeometallurgy of iron, it's fascinating to see some of the techniques that result in the microstructures I see at work.
Great smithy work as always.
Agriculture and blacksmithing(Wheat and sword) are the two professions that have established civilization. 👍👍❤
Great work as usual and enjoyable garden intermission 😊
Goooooood job!!! 😃
Such a good video, 15 minutes flew by.
Thanks for the video!
I love watching you build anything, I'm always amazed at how clean your forgings are, if I had forged those knives they would definitely had to have been ground into shape to hide all the imperfections.
How precise hammering...love it...the way you make things...
That tree stood no chance against the ninja smithy!
Muy buen video!!! Un lujo!
0:33 ah, I see it's "spring time" again! Yes, I'll be here every year to make the same joke. :)
:)
Awesome job as always sir. Love your work as always
Very nice!
Thanks Gary! You should make a couple. It's great fun, but also a bit frustrating when you think you got it and suddenly they just bounce off... ha ha.
@@torbjornahman I made one about twenty years ago and was so bad I gave up! I may try again though 😀
I mei complimenti per il tuo lavoro , bravo 👍
Man, I absolutely love every video you do. Also, you live on like a slice of heaven. Thank you for all you do and your relaxing content.
Thank you!
That intro! 😂 Super cool knife.
:) Thanks
Love this. Throwing knives are good fun! And of course with the usual high quality craftsmanship I think we've all come to expect from Thunder Bear! Even the target was nicely made!!
I love throwing knives and stars! I enjoy your humor and creative spunk! Great video....as usual!
Thank you kindly!
I shake the blacksmith's hand firmly!
Thanks throwing knives are or my this winter toy list for Christmas
Maravillosos cuchillos lanzadores, muy buena ejecución,y fenomenal pasatiempo.saludos desde España 🙋
That looks like a heck of a lot of fun, man!
It is!
Beauty work, as always
Amazing work as always , I'm still trying to work out how to cut the spring like you do 👏🤣. I'm going to try make a kitting from angle iron today for my grand daughter , I seen in one of your videos that I have watched 10 times with her . Cheers.🐱🐈
Thanks! Oh, that is great! Good luck and say hi to her!
Nice job, Torbjörn !
great job as always
Nice to see your work
I love it!!! I'm getting started right away
Sweet
You are the only blacksmith that I subscribe to. Watch others but you at the top of the list. Just a thought, if you would write a book I would be the first to buy a couple or so. Just saying.
:) Ok, I don't see that coming anytime soon... thanks anyway!
The shape of the knife, like Longinus' spear Nice work, it was a pleasure to watch it made.
Well crafted!
I'm very glad you were able to ward off that attacking tree. Who knows what could've happened if you didn't have your trusty throwing knives!!
:)
Beautiful cherry blossom tree 🥰
It's actually an old apple tree, but I forgive you :)
@@torbjornahman ok my bad sorry and I’ve got a apple tree in my place so I should have known that 😮💨😢
Nice balance on those! Great work.
Thanks!
That tree didn't have a chance .... wonderful work, love love your channel.
:) Thanks
Always enjoy your videos , you make the difficult appear so easy. Your artistic qualities excel.
Flott video, flott redigert og flott resultat. Alltid en fornøyelse å se en ny video fra deg 👍
Greetings, Torbjörn!
I remember those good old days, when that spring was longer) Special thanks for cutting of the Gordian knot of how to have all three knives at once at the target) Your work is a true masterpiece!
Best regards!
:) Thanks
Very good work 👍👍👍 . Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦
Really like the leaf shape you chose for the blades. You have almost used up that old coil spring; it has served you well for many projects.
Very fun Project. Great hammer work on the bevels. Awesome camera work and editing as normal. Thanks for sharing.
Class!!! Good luck
Bra video Thorbjörn
When you drew the angle on the anvil and used it as a guide to put in the plunge lines I actually said "That's genius!" out loud in my study. You can bet that little arrow of knowledge is going in my quiver. If I may make one suggestion, and this is coming more from my Ren fair buddies than myself, for throwing weapons you typically want the blade or business end of the weapon to have the majority of the weight, as the heavier of the two ends has strong proclivity to be the leading end in flight.
Thanks! Although it looks like the handle is heavier, these are actually still front heavy!
always a pleasure
Wow, great job sir 😃😃💪💪👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
