Yeah I was going to make a request for SRV since you love the guitar so much. If you are looking for an eargasm, listen to some Stevie Ray. He is another one of those guitarists that you can tell right away its them simply by hearing them on the guitar. One of the most popularly known songs that you probably already heard is Love and Joy. But if you really want to hear him go off on the guitar then another song I would suggest is Texas Flood.
Its easily my favorite performance from him. He was on fire that night! Little Wing is out of this world too. Don't know if he'll be able to do Texas Flood though since it's on Vevo
Another HUGE factor that Jimi's the best is that he is playing a right handed guitar upside down left handed. And yes, I know hes always played left handed. That's beyond amazing and the master does it flawlessly. RIP Jimi.
You know Jimi Hendrix lived with the Isley Brothers. Back in the day when Jimi was broke and homeless, they took him in. Jimi played with them on a few tracks. Ernie Isley talked about listening to Jimi practicing this song in his house.
"We are all music-lovers." - no life shaq Well said!😍😍😍 Re: the audience. Jimmy is from 2019. The white audience was from the Sixties. They were normal for the pre-LSD, pre-Woodstock Sixties. I guarantee you they were never the same after watching him that day forward.👽
When I was a kid I seen Jimi Hendrix live on TV playing the national anthem all on guitar so at 10 years old I was so amazed that got me hooked on rock forever. Jimi Hendrix will never die and will always remain one of the great's.💯🤘💯
Being quiet so we could hear everything was from genuine appreciation for the music and the musicians. It was appreciation, and it was respect. We knew we were hearing music like never before, and it was greatness!
Study up on Jimi...he was an amazing man and musician. Had so much to give and no doubt would have given so much to this world and made it a much better place. A true hero.
Jimi was amazing, but one of the originators of rock & roll was actually Chuck Berry. Check out some of his tracks, "Johnny B Goode", "Maybellene" or one of my personal faves, "Promised Land". Keep on keeping on! Love the reactions!
There's an AMAZING three hour Jimi Hendrix documentary out there, I highly recommend it! It details his childhood, rise to fame, stardom, downfall, and legacy. Jimi was the first to really push the frontier of guitar effects and distortion and really embrace the technology that came with the electrification of guitars, and he was also a genius level-player, he could play left or right-handed guitars, he recorded some songs BACKARDS, in the short time that he was around he laid the foundation of much of hard rock and his music is still brilliant and remains standard studying material for anyone who is serious about being an electric guitarist.
I saw Jimi in concert in SLC and the audience was white (all us hippies) and we were in awe of the man. He became a music God that night for those of us there. Ran into him again at a coffee shop as he came in for a quick meal before his flight. He was a nice guy and thanked us for telling him how much we appreciated him and his music. Was sad that he died so young.
Ohhhhh brother!!! You just done did it now!!! I was expecting you to comment negatively at how calm the reaction of the performance was but instead you commented on the civility of the crowd and how it's a generational thing. YOU ROCK!!!!
Hendrix is the Godfather of electric Guitarists. Stevie Ray Vaughn was great as well. But Hendrix changed the game. Voodoo child is just a taste of what he could do. Good choice to react to Coach. Watch his autobiography
@@swampgator1957 died way to young. Imagine him and Ozzy today. Would've been crazy music made when Ozzy was in his prime. Randy's death fucked Ozzy up
"Music doesn't have a color." - Love you for that, Shaq. This is my fave Jimi song. It transcends. Jimi was self-taught on the guitar and how amazing was he? The people in that audience had no idea they were witnessing history. Please, please react to "Tomorrow Never Knows" by the Beatles. Totally out of the norm for them and really an incredible, underrated song.
The most important part is he played left handed on the right handed guitar. Some who are considered absolutely great and well known will tell you they were in absolute awe when he would grab any right handed guitar and start thrashing and making it make noises they never heard before. That was part of his unique sound by using the rught hand guitar left handed. He was also fairly musocally educated. That is actually a cover and many of Jimis songs were covers. Many of them were from old Delta Blues folks that not many people had any knowledge of. They original writers and players of the songs have more exposure now due to his covers. That being said he is obviously the greatest guitarist ever period. The behind the back came from Chuck Berry if I remember correctly and some of his other moves that he made his own.
I watched a Hendrix documentary years back. They said when he woke up in the morning, he strapped his guitar on. Cooking breakfast, all throughout the day, even walking to go out with friends at night he always had his guitar locked and loaded. He would practice anytime any place. Very very few people in life have ever shown suck total dedication to a craft. Rip to a legend, but also a man who forever changed music as we know it. ☝️
I love watching people get there first exposure to Jimi Hendrix! Other songs of his I would recommend are, The Wind Cries Mary, Purple Haze, Foxy Lady, All Along the Watchtower and of course the Star Spangled Banner played at Woodstock Music Festival. As far as the audience, yes it was a different era, but also this is an English audience. They are kind of known for being quiet and reserved. With some exceptions it’s still kind of their thing.
*YEEEAH!* _Now THAT is what I’m talking about Shaqman! There was no one like Hendrix! Yo, if you’re doing Hendrix, then you should check out Santana too!_ 😌🙏🏼
Yess I love Santana..he used to come and play at fair he in Tucson every year. I have seen him play every year for 5 years in a roll. He stopped coming though.
Maria Mañge How cool Maria! That’s so awesome! I’ve seen him live once. His style of guitar playing takes you to some incredible places. There’s so much soul in it. I’m Hispanic like Santana, and it was cool watching someone that looked like me go up there and do rock music with the best of them. When I was a kiddo, my older brother would blast Santana’s music in the mornings. Today, I have a ginormous framed photograph on my wall in my hallway of Santana playing guitar. He’s definitely an incredible artist.
NL Shaq - Jimi was THE BEST bar NONE !!! I remember when this was released 1967 and there WAS NO ONE that sounded like JIMI !! Listen to all of the music up until that time and when you get the context IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND EVEN FURTHER !! I cried when he died ! React to some Pink Floyd. You will be completely blown away. Comfortably numb or time
I would love to see that! Wait till he sees David Lee Roth!

The exact 2 songs I'm waiting for
Guitar solo Comfortably Numb...am I right?
Echoes
Man, I was just 14 when "Are You Experienced" was released. Couldn't stop listening to the entire album for months. My favorite guitarist indeed.
I'm Brazilian, I follow your channel, congratulations on the video, your experience feels very good.
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Texas Flood - live at Mocambo
Greatest live performance I've ever seen!
Its easily my favorite performance from him. He was on fire that night! Little Wing is out of this world too. Don't know if he'll be able to do Texas Flood though since it's on Vevo
Yes
And stevie ray VAUGHN covered alot of Jimi Hendrix songs because Jimi was his favorite
I’ve been BEGGING Shaq to do SRV!!!
Please react to Jimi Hendrix - Along the Watchtower
Zyptic yyyyeeeessss!!!
Red House would be a good one also.
Especially since Bob Dylan wrote it.. it’s like a 2 for 1 special.
Dylan
Loved it! People lived in the moment back then. Hell, even camera film was expensive. And the trick playing was very Rock n’ Roll! Try Foxy Lady.
Oh and what a song writer. Underrated song writer, because he was so good with the guitar. All hail the King
Ernie tried to imitate his style a lil you can hear it in a couple of their songs like "Whose that lady"
Ernie Isley could rock! Not as good as Hendrix but Ernie put down some tasty solos!
"We are all music-lovers." - no life shaq
Well said!😍😍😍
Re: the audience.
He played guitar with hands behind his back with his tongue. One handed. Alot of crazy ways. There all high on acid Coach
Jimi "GOAT guitar" Hendrix.
Good to see a UA-camr who looks at comments i remember recommending this. Thanks shaq
He is a part of “the 27 club”, yes. I’d also like to note that he played a right-handed guitar left handed and was self taught,
You are not tripping bro they are tripping on acid
especially that dude in the sunglasses
Ohhhhh brother!!! You just done did it now!!! I was expecting you to comment negatively at how calm the reaction of the performance was but instead you commented on the civility of the crowd and how it's a generational thing. YOU ROCK!!!!
Everybody should listen to everything indeed. My 2 favorite music artists is #1 Rush, #2 Wu tang clan.
Shaq: Look how calm he is!
Jimi: Hold my guitar pick...
He played a right handed guitar upside down that’s the real beauty of it.
Hendrix is the Godfather of electric Guitarists. Stevie Ray Vaughn was great as well. But Hendrix changed the game. Voodoo child is just a taste of what he could do. Good choice to react to Coach. Watch his autobiography
Voodoo child will put you in a trance with his skills
Wouldn’t go that far to say Godfather but he’s certainly one of the founding fathers.
Don't forget Randy Rhodes
@@swampgator1957 died way to young. Imagine him and Ozzy today. Would've been crazy music made when Ozzy was in his prime. Randy's death fucked Ozzy up
stevie was the only one who could pull off jimi covers. i’m actually related to srv by marriage. rip to both of them.
Jimi is a legend, his musical style, talent. He was a genius. And his music before it's time. I think the crowd was awe struck! And yes, respectful.
Jimi at Woodstock is some of the greatest music I’ve heard.
Amazing footage man! What a song, what a performance! Thank you so much for that! Made my day!
*YEEEAH!*
_Now THAT is what I’m talking about Shaqman! There was no one like Hendrix! Yo, if you’re doing Hendrix, then you should check out Santana too!_ 😌🙏🏼
Black magic woman
And Stevie Ray Vaughn
Yess I love Santana..he used to come and play at fair he in Tucson every year. I have seen him play every year for 5 years in a roll. He stopped coming though.
Maria Mañge
How cool Maria!
@@TheRealBizWiz yea I'm hispanic too. It is cool watching him play.
I still remember where I was when I heard about his death . listen to more Jimi especially Electric Ladyland , one of my favourite albums of all time a desert island album for sure .
Yep ELL is so incredibly good. I can only imagine how amazing and mind blowing it must of been to hear it in context to the norm. Must've freaked po people good.
The magic carpet waits for you so don't you be late.
Bro! I'm loving these vids! I'm 30 and was raised on this music! I'm same as you brother all music is great in there in ways!! Much love
Jimi Hendrix is one of the best. The can rock a top hat or a tye dye head wrap or bandana. Legendary one of my all time favs
This guy is a musical genius. Played a right handed guitar left handed, was on drugs every single show and still a perfect performance
Polite? I’m thinking they were actually speechless, like a being from the future of time and space appeared before them and blew their minds
Red House or All along the watchtower
Jason L Red House!! Wow I was surprised to see this in the comments. My all time favorite Hendrix song
@@jessep2789 The solo alone is amazing, let alone the entire song. You can just feel the emotion through his playing.
My all time favorite Jimi Hendrix song!!!!
Love the reaction! You should check out Jimi Hendrix's performance of Wild Thing from the Monterey Pop Festival...spoiler alert: Jimi lights his guitar on fire at the end!
I know this is old now, but my first time seeing this one with your reaction. I noticed he took a guitar and stringed it upside down to play it left handed. Jimi was an amazing artist, way before his time. Thanks for sharing this. Music is timeless. Sometime I wanna go way back into time and view music with the first electric guitars etc... Someday!
Hi Precious wonderful reaction to the greatest man that loved people who respected his hard work and didcation ot music is a wa
You should try out Bold as Love, my personal favorite Hendrix song.
He's calm cause he's high AF lol,I wished I lived then man. Well for the good parts of the 60s anyway. Awesome reaction Shaq👋👋👋👋👋👌
thats not why hes calm wtf??
@@jeffbuckley4453 its a joke brother pump the brakes, but i guarantee you,hes high AF lol...he was most the time as everyone in the 60s. Its unfortunate but the truth is heroin killed him. Choked on his own puke while asleep. So yeah more than likely being high kept him calm.Anyway thats why lol is in there,so you dont take it that seriously, but yeah probably true since you went there
@@jvnbrk he didnt die on heroine.dude. it was barbiturates (sleeping pills) and hes not high in the performance, either. u want to see him high. go look at the monterrey pop video.

Bob Dylan gave him the song because Jimi fucking played it so much better than him! :D
I'M SOOO JEALOUS WATCHING YOUR GENERATION REACTION, PRECIOUS!!! GEEZ!!!
I don't think the crowd was being polite, I think they were just stunned by Jimi's epic performance
