Not sure it's just me, but all of the iPads seem a tad oversized. Like the iPad Mini went through the design change, but instead of decreasing its physical size they just increased the screen size. Same for the iPad/Air. And also the iPad Pro models. Ideally the lineup would be something like this: - 7.5 inch, iPad Mini (1.5 yearly update) - 9.5 inch, iPad Pro (1.0 yearly update) - 11.5 inch, iPad Air (1.5 yearly update) - 13.5 inch, iPad Max (1.0 yearly update) Or roughly dimensions wise: - 180 x 130 x 9mm = S / Mini (cheapest) - 220 x 160 x 7mm = M/ Pro (expensive) - 260 x 190 x 8mm = L / Air (cheap) - 300 x 230 x 6mm = XL / Max (dearest) This aforementioned lineup makes more sense in terms of sizing, and market separation. If you want something compact but luxury, the Pro is your model. If you want something big yet affordable, then the Air is your model. If you care most about the size, there is the Mini and the Max as options. Apple's current lineup makes very little sense: the iPad, Air, Pro are virtually the same size.... whilst the Mini is a tad larger than expected, with only the largest model making sense. There's not enough separation in the device and its target audience.

I am lucky enough to have both the 11” iPad Pro and the Ipad Mini 6. The IPad Pro stays home and is my main device to use at home. I find the size more than adequate and especially like the the Face ID. It is very convenient. The Mini 6 is in my brief case and is a 2nd computer on my desk for notes and online referencing. Some of the reviews for this don't make sense. This ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA works as well as any power strip I've used. Plug in what you need, be sensible about it & keep it movin' The construction is plastic but it's a sturdy piece. It has a single toggle switch & the swivel jacks are useful as well. Plugged in next to Tripp Lite Isobar takes some of these reviews with a pinch of sumthin' - does what it says & functions properly.Had for about a month. Perfect no complaints will update if anything changes.
Another use case that often is missed for iPad 11in size vs mini is writing experience. The screen on 11in is the sweet spot for people who take notes often and calendarize. The mini is lovely to hold but it’s just too small to really enjoy the Apple Pencil with it, I’m always reaching for the bigger iPad to take to class with me then connect to a larger screen at home.
This is my issue. Love my mini. Now started using pencil daily at work for notes but screen too small…. I don’t really want to trade in mini… Get an apple refurbished ipad pro or air ? Thinking the pro…
i'm a programmer , video editor, Cinema lover , book reader , Huge music listener my phone go old and i'm thinking to drop it all and go for ipad for all day , could you please help me out with this Decision what should to buy ( ipad mini 6 or ipad 11 pro ) ?
As a computing student myself in the past & still enjoy programming, Except your music listening (don’t know you use youtube or synchronize music to player on iphone like I do), I would advise to go for 12.9 ipad with a pencil & Logitech Combo Keyboard. Quite hard to do coding on ipad, but for problem solving & referencing it is very useful. Then an iphone mini (5.4”) or iphone 11/12/13(6.1”) that suits your budget
I absolutely love my iPad mini 6! l use it all the time because sometimes I just want to watch content on a screen bigger than my pro max but still handheld. I also love love love reading on it, while still having more functionality than a kindle. I did have an 11" iPad pro but it is now untouched because it just wasn't quite right. Now I really enjoy the M1 12.9 iPad Pro or m2 MBA (would like to eventually get 16" MBP), when I'm not using my mini
I love your reviews. Thought I would add my opinion as a photographer who used an IPad Pro. I am also a full time traveller and wanted to Keep my gear to a minimum for travel. I switched to the iPad mini 6 last year and I have absolutely no regrets…I use it for all my editing photos, and emails. Im typing this on a Bluetooth keyboard that is the exact same width as the mini, and yes it took some getting used to typing on such a small keyboard but after a week or so its way better now. I love to be sitting in a cafe doing my editing, and then pick up the mini so easily hand hold it when I want to use it in vertical mode with Apple Pencil, or simply take a break and watch some UA-cam content..social media etc…Love it! And would love a pro version with an apple keyboard option..
My trouble is, I want both! I bought the Mini when it first came out, and haven't regretted that decision for a second. But I keep dreaming of that day when I'll have the money for the Pro. I've probably watched every iPad Pro video on UA-cam five times already, but it still hasn't magically appeared on my desk. Oh well, a fella can dream!
My most pressing need was for a note taking machine, and also something people tend not to talk about: giving presentations. The Mini is awesome for Keynote presentations, because it's so much more portable than either sticking a USB drive into someone's PC, or walking around with a heavy iPad Pro for a forty-minute presentation.
Honestly, both is better if budget allows. I think one of the reasons I am so sold on the mini is because I do have the other sizes if I need them. Still, I use the mini 95% of the time.
The speaker situation on the Mini (and Air) is so sad. The quality and volume are one thing, but because of how the speakers are populated it means that in portrait mode your sound is basically going to just come from the left side of the device, rather than being stereo like the Pro. This is something that used to drive me a little crazy about the older iPhones that only had speakers at the bottom.
Mini all the way, IMO. What a fantastic device. My 10.9 Air only gets used when the Mini is charging. I doubt I will every buy the larger iPad again. Thanks Patrick, another comprehensive video, as usual.
i think that the mini is too small for content consumption as the screen is too small. The 11" inch is perfect for media consumption and still be portable and usable with 1 hand. The 12.9" is the perfect one for media and safari browsing. Just like that. It is not as portable but for bed use and sofa use it is perfect. Too bad that there is not a 13" ipad AIR with 120 fps screen but without the fancy screen and the cameras so it would be cheaper. Instead of 1450€ it would be 1100€ which is a better price for what you are getting
As an owner of all these and a M1 MBA i thing the mini sets users up for the 11 and the 11 sets users up to the 12.9 by sets I mean trains users… meaning apples goal is to get you to buy all 3
Team Mini 6 here. Full disclosure though, I have an M2 MacBook Air so I didn't need the size and power of an iPad Pro. My devices are so light I don't mind bringing both when I travel, and the Mini certainly isn't a laptop replacement. I tried for a while, and made the mistake of buying a cover with a detachable keyboard. I love the cover, it offers great protection, but the keyboard, though well designed, is just too small to be practical. My thumb typing is terrible but it's still faster than I can do on that little keyboard, so that piece always stays home.
Good video Patrick. My Ipad Pro 11" Pro is my workhorse and is permanently plugged into my external display. Ipad Mini 6 goes with me everywhere and when paired with an external keyboard and mouse is enough to get my by in meetings in face or online. My Apple Pencil is used on both with Good Notes 5 and of course Paperlike on both devices.
I have the mini 6 and love it it’s perfect size but I have also have 12.9 iPad Pro for laptop replacements it’s great but too big to hold at times the iPad Pro 11 is perfect for me it’s the right size between 8.3 and 12.9 hopefully light enough to hold and portable as well .. I can get iMac for larger at home experience for laptop replacements. Thanks for sharing
I'm a constant student for my work and personal development. If you're a true learner, appreciating a convenient size tablet, go with the 11" model. I've had all three sizes. The 11" is truly a sweet spot. The mini is more for "play" or leisure browsing. I can even edit photography on the road with my Pro. If you're a more serious student in any manner, the mini display size isn't great for serious note taking, and forget serious viewing of multiple apps. I also have the largest Pro for business presentations. Again, the 11" is a sweet spot size.
@@PatrickRambles It's not a value judgement, simply a best tool for the job. Sorry. Student is a better word to use than learner. I didn't take notes at University for 9 years on a small pad, and simply mean someone with a need for a decent amount of writing will find the 11" model more conducive to this.
@@PatrickRambles That's great. We're each different. I wanted to encourage those in college or doing anything requiring a lot of note taking to consider something closer to a theme notebook size. Whatever works. That wouldn't have worked for me at university, but the mini is certainly very handy and mobile! All the best!
Love to get a tomtoc case for iPadPro 11 which I just got. Didn't know about the case till I saw this video. Love the detachable feature, and the bumps without too much bulk!
I have the 11 m2 ipad pro 1tb with cellular and love it. My big thing is storage tho since I use the ipad as my main editing and entertainment device. I drive trucks which is why I have the cellular version. But if you don't need cellular or the storage I think the mini is an awesome tablet to own. But I am looking forward to trying FCP since I have never owned a Mac.
This is the video I’ve been looking for. I sold my 12.9 iPad Pro about two years ago as I only used it for media consumption. If was over kill in both power and size. I’ve since been happy with using my iPhone pro max, but I feel I want something a little bigger for multitasking, watching movies and potentially using the device as a smartphone hub. The mini is the perfect device for that! I hear there is a mini 7 coming out. I’ll wait for that as they may upgrade the screen!
I swapped my Ipad Pro to an Ipad Mini 6. Because the mini 6 works really well as a secondary to my laptop while the ipad pro cannot replace my laptop and too much as a secondary. The portability and weight of the mini is worth it I could also bring it and use it as secondary device to my iphone I can bring it anywhere. The Ipad Mini has enough to play high end games you dont need m1 cause most of the games are not triple a pc anyway.
I have a 12.9 I pad pro and mini 6 I use one for stationary and like a laptop since the 12 has the Magic Keyboard. And the mini is my on the go device I also use them together at home.
All i want is a fully (or at least mostly) functional version of Excel/other Microsoft products. Until then my 11 in 2018 pro really cant even attempt to replace my laptop unfortunately.
I bought the 11 inch iPad Pro after watching this video also it was within my budget and so far I’m loving it, I am graphic designer and content creator. I would love to get my hands on that case, I mean it looks amazing and very robust with its design and color choice. I actually need one hahaha
Just bought an iPad pro 11 inch M2 to replace my mini6. To do more work with my ipad. Great video and cause of it, I am glad that I had made a correct choice. And early congrats on getting your silver button!!🎉 it’s just around the corner!
I’m been an iPad fan since it’s inception in 2010. I actually use both. When I’m home the 11” stays glued to my hands, while it’s the Mini that’s with me when I’m out of the house.
Crazy timing. As a man who works as an Apple Systems Admin, I had a mini 6, love it just like you pointed out in previous videos, it’s awesome. But… I wanted a Pro for the other features that the Mini doesn’t have. This 11” Pro is exceptional. Now, I will either use both or sell the mini. I love this 11” Pro man. Your review is spot on, you discuss everything that is relevant. I’m a creative techie. The display is definitely better on that Pro with the 120hz. It’s just better overall and not much larger. Plus, with iOS 17 and the NEW announcement of PRO APP SUPPORT (finally 🎉), stage manager, Magic Keyboard support, we can test its pure power and utilize it. But.. both are wins, and the 11” Pro looks sexy next to it. Oh, Patrick, check out the: ESR for iPad Pro 11 Inch Case 4th/3rd Generation (2022/2021), Rugged Protection, Detachable Magnetic Cover, Adjustable Portrait/Landscape Stand with Raised Screen View, 9 Stand Angles, Black case. I’d love to join your giveaway contest to try that case, but please check out that recommendation above bud. Great video.
I’m actually selling my iPad Pro 11 (2018) model this week and getting the Mini 6 this week. Then getting an M3 MBP for school to have both the Mini and the MBP for school/work
same here and then im thinking about getting an ipad mini. carrying 11” its a bit heavy in my bag, however 11” pro is so nice to have with the smart keyboard that makes me don’t want to turn on my laptop. 😂
Your review pretty much nailed it. I have an 11” pro (albeit a few years old) and a Magic Keyboard. This year I added a mini. I pretty much use the devices for mundane tasks associated with work and watching video and reading at home. The Pro gets most of the work time. It sits on a desk and is mobile enough when I need to quickly pull it off the Magic Keyboard (so easy to do) to take it down the sales floor with me. It is also good for longer note taking with the Apple Pencil. I use Apple Notes to collect all sorts of notes , scans and photos or clients from all of my apple and third party devices. But, the mini is ideal for short note taking and at home use. If I could only have one, it would have to be the Pro. But, if the mini is all you need or you want to splurge for both, go for it.
Last year my mom gifted me iPad mini 6 and I am in love 😍. I don’t do any video editing, photoshop or anything like that. It is my go to device to watch some UA-cam or Netflix while I am making dinner, or lounge on the couch and color in pixel art app with an Apple Pencil ( that’s the main use of this device 😂). The only thing I wish for this iPad is some improvement on battery life. This device on average has 5 hours of on screen time and then it needs to be charged.
Thanks for this review! I’ve been looking for just this kind of review. It makes me feel better about wanting to get a Mini 6 but now that you’ve shared about Final Cut Pro and work use, I may consider the 11 Pro.
I also have the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 inch, but I'm thinking about downsizing to the 11 inch version for the next generation of Pro iPads since the 12.9 inch version sometimes is cumbersome to carry around and I'm looking for a device that allows me to be more mobile. The 12.9 version always requires me to use a backpack, but I'm a sling bag guy at heart, some of my slings could fit the 11 inch iPad Pro with magic keyboard perfectly while the 12.9 is just too big for that.
yeah i have an 11” pro already and my issue is its slightly too big to fit in my purse which is why im thinking ab getting a mini. all i use my ipad pro for is drawing, watching tv and reading. but ive also been thinking ab the kindle but now im thinking i might just get a mini instead
Mini for sure. I bought a M2 Pro 12.9 and then the mini three months later. I never use the Pro anymore. My main app is Nomad Sculpt and having the mini is great. I'm scared take the Pro out as I might drop it, even with a case. I commute to work on the train and the mini is small and easy to hold and not has heavy.
i'm a programmer , video editor, Cinema lover , book reader , Huge music listener my phone go old and i'm thinking to drop it all and go for ipad for all day , could you please help me out with this Decision what should to buy ( ipad mini 6 or ipad 11 pro ) ?
Very good video! I just bought a Ipad Mini because of your reviews. I have a M1 Pro 12,9 for illustration, but the Mini is the best for all other stuff. I want a Tomtoc Case, very nice!
With an iPad pro as my first ipad(meaning no prior adequate hands on experience with iPads). I’m gonna have to say go for it for the IPad mini. I think I’ll wait several months or a year and then I’ll sell my pro for a mini. Even my old iPod touch was as comparably useful as my iPhone.
The ipad mini won’t receive anymore feature updates as upcoming ipad os features are for M series ipads only. If you want a mini ipad wait for M2 enabled ipad mini . A series ipads will soon become outdated and make no sense to buy in 2023 unless you want one for cheap.
Really awesome video. I just upgraded from the 2018 iPad Pro (I mainly use Procreate) and the new M2 is amazing for illustrating. I also have the iPad mini which I also illustrate on. I love them both.🍎

I’m a artist and a animator, I’m still on the 10.5 inch pro, I would love the 11 inch iPad Pro, but I’m trying to hold off until they come in oled but Liquid Retina is good too. Thanks for the review
@@PatrickRambles I’m using my iPad as a main iPad too. So i would think the 12.9 inch is heavier for me. Also it’s costs more. But as a artist, I agree with you, the bigger screen would work better
Hi! I recently broke my 12.9 inch ipad pro and i usually used it for gaming (usually Roblox or Minecraft) and im thinking of repairing it or getting a mini. Could you help me decide? I watch youtube shorts a lot too and i loved my ipad pro. So im not sure. But also, on roblox there is this game called "Slap Battles", its really fun and a mechanic called "Flicking" is used a lot. It uses moving the camera after clicking the screen to face the glove to to person your hitting, and im wondering which would be better to have an easier, comfortable hand position, and speed. Which would be the best? I would really love for you to help.
Sold it. The Mini has a great display but the battery and performance was worse than my 13 Pro and 12.9 M1. It needs a big spec upgrade to be in the same level as my pro devices.
So I do have an iPad Pro 11 m1 and use it as my laptop and my actual laptop I use as my desktop so I have been thinking about possibly getting the iPad mini for lighter stuff around the house or even with upcoming travel plans. Just still unsure
I really have to say. Once you experience 120 ~ 144hz ( does not matter if Mac,iPad,iPhone, even Windows or Android ) over a longer period of time and get used to it. You just can't go back in my opinion. Everything, that is not "Pro Motion" is simply "laggy" for me now.
I'm facing this decision. I think its fun to have an Ipad mini 6. But i opt for Ipad Pro m1 11 inch just to be safe and future proof. I would love to have that sick Tomtoc 4mode case. Thank you sir and all for the information.
You really called it here, Pat. I even downgraded to the Mini for the more portable form factor. Do I miss Face ID and the Promotion screen? Hell yeah! But I mainly use my iPad as a consumption device, and it’s mobile everyday. Again….I miss my iPad Pro 11” 2020…partly because I like having my Apple gear match. But “Pro” is really in name only. The iPhone is almost always going to get us techies to get the “Pro” models. But when it comes to all the other accompanying devices, it’s not that simple/necessary.
I was debating hard on ipad mini 6 and ipad pro 11. I got myself ipad pro it feels amazing but i don't use it as much as i would with ipad mini 6. The screen, 120hz, m1 chip, more real estate for apple pencil. Wether ipad mini6 would be much more loved, to grab it into bed to cafes ets. So yeah the main deal breaker for me was 120hz and battery life. I might sell it later and switch to mini instead when it'll have 120hz.
Thanks for this video. I have the original 11-inch iPad Pro, and I'm buying a Mini soon since the Pro needs some Apple TLC. I would definitely enjoy using that TomToc case!
Jelly scroll, 60hz display…….. blah blah blah! For my needs, I like to travel as light as possible. I can bring a small camera, or a 14 Pro along with the mini 6 and deliver some great images for clients after edited. The mini can do so much for those who like to travel lighter and not be a target for robbery. On down times, the mini 6 can be a great kindle like experience.
In all honesty for an average person a pro might as well be overkill. For me an iPad Pro is rather too big for my liking. I though having a bigger screen might help with drawing a bit but the proportions on the drawing apps are still the same and close to unnatural as with smaller touch screen devices that it may not matter what size screen I have. Speaking from experience I went with an m1 IPad Pro which was barely like $70 more than an Air, but it’s almost becoming more useless than my MacBook Pro(most of its use is with USB devices and PC based gaming). I used to have an IPod touch that I used comparably as much as my IPhone mostly because it’s smaller and more compact and easier to mount on a phone mount. Sometimes it just takes more adequately getting hands on with the device in person more so that just testing a display stuck in your local store to really get an accurate idea. The m1 IPad Pro is my first ever IPad, so I had prior experience with owning and handling regular sized IPads before, my parents and brother have regular non-Pro and non-Air old IPads non of which I was ever given. At this point, I’m like I should’ve went with the IPad Mini as I find the size of a regular sized IPad is a bit hulking and cumbersome in some aspects to my liking, especially when I would want it to take the camera role in place of my IPhone to spare it’s storage(most notably on the go or doing some stop motion over some small items). And once again having a bigger screen isn’t really gonna make drawing that naturally it still feels like drawing on an iPhone just slightly bigger but not that overwhelming in difference.
I'm VERY interested in that desk mat. To the subject of the video, we need a Mini pro. Apple is good at selling us less for more, and the Mini is the perfect high margin device to give us pro features.
I bought the 11 inch Pro back in November. You're spot on about the Magic Keyboard not providing protection. The TomToc looks AMAZING. I would love to be considered for your giveaway.
Thank you for the great review. How do you evaluate the mini for light note-taking compared to the 11”, such as in meetings or when annotating documents?
I have tried every ipad ever made. I Love the mini but the screen sucks, and the sound isn't great and it's too expensive for such a lazy effort on Apples part. I went M2 11" iPad Pro.
I had the 2020 IPad 12.9 and I hated that it was so big. But I did like how bright the screen was. I wanna get a IPad Pro 11 M2 tomorrow as the size is awesome. May I ask how the brightness on the screen is as I do work outside? Does it get nice and bright or is it a much darker screen?
That case is 🔥 . Would love to have a case like that for my iPad ❤. Just upgraded from the 2018 iPad pro 12.9 to the 2021 M1 Ipad pro 11. It's already dented from using the Magic keyboard
Switched from ipad pro 11 inch m1 to ipad mini and not looking back. Maybe a mechanical keyboard in the future for it. Would love to win the tomtoc case. Thanks
I've had a mini 6 since lauch, over 2 years now. I was really hoping for a mini 7 reveal last week but it didn't happen. I love my mini but it just seems like it's the step child Apple ignores. I went ahead and ordered an M4 iPad Pro 11" because I want that OLED display. I assume the next mini will be on the same chip as the iPhone 16 in the fall with a miniLED display. I will probably stupidly buy one just because I love the form factor so much. However, as our phones get bigger and bigger the mini use case is slowly disappearing and frankly, if I was Apple I would just drop it altogether. It's a niche device to begin with and I doubt they can continue to justify the R&D and manufacturing costs to continue the line much longer. The mini 6 is great but the display is absolute trash and almost makes it something you shouldn't buy.
What was the first game you were playing on your iPad mini, not the first person shooter? I use an iPad Pro 2018 11 inch. I had an earlier iteration of the iPad Mini many moons ago. However, I needed something new for my thesis writing and processes. I have tiny hands, that the keyboard size is just right for me on the Magic Keyboard. Less of a stretch for some of the fingers. I find it difficult to play a full sized piano, that I gave up. My hands are about the size of a boy about 10 years of age. I am a full grown adult woman. I do not want the case, because I would rather have real leather than a plastic that will break and flake off in a year or two into micro plastics. Micro plastics are an issue in the environment.
Hey! The game is called Ocean Horn 2, it's a bit like Zelda if you will. I hear you on the plastics, although a lot of modern case companies have started working with much more sustainable, and sometimes even biodegradable materials. One phone case company uses ground up soles from discarded tennis shoes to create their bumper cases. It's work checking the websites before purchasing, you'll often find a section on sustainability.
Please put me in for the Tomtoc draw. I’m travelling later in the year and decided to reduce the wight of my carrying on so not to take the Magic Keyboard as I’ll have my iPad Air for keyboard work. This cover looks like what I need for photo editing on the iPad pro
I got 11 inch pro because it's everything in between, I have to showcase products on my Ipad to the clients at their homes (construction materials etc). Mini would be too small for that case.
I have 11inch iPad Pro M2 I also have hp laptop. I am going to study additional support needs course in august. I am not sure wether to sell iPad Pro and switch to mini, upgrade to 12.9 iPad Pro or stick with my iPad Pro just now and wait for iPad Pro with OLED screens to come out then trade it in. not really sure what best thing to do is.
Appreciate this video! I have an iPad Pro 10.5" (used to have the 1st and 2nd gen mini), the battery is starting to go, so I've been debating what iPad to get as a replacement. I like the size of the mini, but afraid I'll not like the experience coming from an iPad pro. (Still undecided....) 🤣
@@PatrickRambles You will find this hard to believe but I know UA-camrs who record all their videos on iPhone and edit all their videos on CapCut. And their channels are in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
Great video. I love my mini 6. Just started using it at work with One Note etc.. Wondering if a bigger screen would be better for apple pencil note writing. Feels like a waste of money.
Both..you need both. lol I have the 11inch with the magic keyboard and the mini 6. I also have the m2 mac mini as my desktop, is the overkill? Yes. Could I choose one to give up… no 😅 why am I like this?!

Hi I would like the cover please. Love your reviews.
Not sure it's just me, but all of the iPads seem a tad oversized.
Like the iPad Mini went through the design change, but instead of decreasing its physical size they just increased the screen size. Same for the iPad/Air. And also the iPad Pro models.
Ideally the lineup would be something like this:
- 7.5 inch, iPad Mini (1.5 yearly update)
- 9.5 inch, iPad Pro (1.0 yearly update)
- 11.5 inch, iPad Air (1.5 yearly update)
- 13.5 inch, iPad Max (1.0 yearly update)
Or roughly dimensions wise:
- 180 x 130 x 9mm = S / Mini (cheapest)
- 220 x 160 x 7mm = M/ Pro (expensive)
- 260 x 190 x 8mm = L / Air (cheap)
- 300 x 230 x 6mm = XL / Max (dearest)
This aforementioned lineup makes more sense in terms of sizing, and market separation.

The mini is my run and gun device (absolutely love it). The 12.9” (4th gen) stays at home now. It’s the perfect blend for me.
Mini is amazing.
i'm a programmer , video editor, Cinema lover , book reader , Huge music listener
my phone go old and i'm thinking to drop it all and go for ipad for all day , could you please help me out with this Decision what should to buy ( ipad mini 6 or ipad 11 pro ) ?
As a computing student myself in the past & still enjoy programming, Except your music listening (don’t know you use youtube or synchronize music to player on iphone like I do), I would advise to go for 12.9 ipad with a pencil & Logitech Combo Keyboard. Quite hard to do coding on ipad, but for problem solving & referencing it is very useful. Then an iphone mini (5.4”) or iphone 11/12/13(6.1”) that suits your budget
I do the same
If you want to use it for video editing and programming, definitely the pro.
All those devices work so well together too. Apple really nailed that.
And would love a pro version with an apple keyboard option..
iPad mini pro? Take my money!
Thanks for the video man, exactly what I’m looking for. Wish you and your channel grow quickly
I’ve been trying to decide between these two myself, so I really appreciate the assist. Thank you! I’ll take that TomToc case too, it looks great!
Thanks Todd!
I love my mini 6 but I wish it had slightly smaller bezels and a pro motion display. That would make it the best
I don’t see smaller bezels as any kind of improvement. It just gives you less space to grip the thing.
Mini all the way, IMO. What a fantastic device. My 10.9 Air only gets used when the Mini is charging. I doubt I will every buy the larger iPad again. Thanks Patrick, another comprehensive video, as usual.
Thank you :). And yes, the mini is awesome!
i think that the mini is too small for content consumption as the screen is too small.
Yeah definitely not a fan of keyboard cases on the mini either.
Nice!
You're not a true learner unless you agree with your preference. Got it ✅
@@PatrickRambles It's not a value judgement, simply a best tool for the job. Sorry. Student is a better word to use than learner. I didn't take notes at University for 9 years on a small pad, and simply mean someone with a need for a decent amount of writing will find the 11" model more conducive to this.
@@johnz4412 of course it's a value judgment. I for one much prefer taking notes on the mini. It's just a more convenient size for me.
🙌
The mini is just awesome. It seems likely that there will be a mini 7 at some point but I haven't heard any tangible rumors yet.
@@PatrickRamblesa17 chip 120htz screen mini7
I might sell my iPad Pro for a mini even a mini 6 probably would’ve been more preferable.
Love the mini.
M2 IPad Pro 11” with the Magic Keyboard In my EDC backpack. 90% Laptop replacement. My iPhone for everything else.
I also used my Tom for the first time on a cruise to hold my I pad , Apple Watches AirPods as we were on the go. Great durable case for sure.
Thanks, my friend 🙌
I’m been an iPad fan since it’s inception in 2010. I actually use both. When I’m home the 11” stays glued to my hands, while it’s the Mini that’s with me when I’m out of the house.
Rocking the M2 12.9 Pro here. Got it purely for casual use. Loving it.
Oh, Patrick, check out the:
ESR for iPad Pro 11 Inch Case 4th/3rd Generation (2022/2021), Rugged Protection, Detachable Magnetic Cover, Adjustable Portrait/Landscape Stand with Raised Screen View, 9 Stand Angles, Black case. I’d love to join your giveaway contest to try that case, but please check out that recommendation above bud. Great video.
That TomToc case is awesome. I would consider it for my 12.9” M1 iPad Pro or my iPad mini 6, which I got recently.
I’m actually selling my iPad Pro 11 (2018) model this week and getting the Mini 6 this week. Then getting an M3 MBP for school to have both the Mini and the MBP for school/work
I use my iPhone 13 mini and my 11 inch iPad Pro is where I do everything else on and I’m so happy that the logic Pro is coming to the iPad Pro
same here and then im thinking about getting an ipad mini. carrying 11” its a bit heavy in my bag, however 11” pro is so nice to have with the smart keyboard that makes me don’t want to turn on my laptop.
Yep that all sounds familiar. Thanks for sharing!
I love my 11” but it’s still not as portable as the mini 6. I don’t think you can compare the 11 inch rod to the mini. Should be the mini 6 vs air 5
Yeah the battery is small and depletes pretty quick. Chargers quick too though.
Agreed, it's a chunker!
yeah i have an 11” pro already and my issue is its slightly too big to fit in my purse which is why im thinking ab getting a mini. all i use my ipad pro for is drawing, watching tv and reading. but ive also been thinking ab the kindle but now im thinking i might just get a mini instead
The mini rocks!

my phone go old and i'm thinking to drop it all and go for ipad for all day , could you please help me out with this Decision what should to buy ( ipad mini 6 or ipad 11 pro ) ?
@@pricsless I would go with the Pro. The mini only had 4gb of ram. Not enough and the M2 is better for editing. Go with 12.9 if you can afford it.
Very good video! I just bought a Ipad Mini because of your reviews. I have a M1 Pro 12,9 for illustration, but the Mini is the best for all other stuff. I want a Tomtoc Case, very nice!
Thanks man! And noted on the case 🙌
you seem like you love your channel. this was very helpful. you just helped me picked a model, thank you!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful 🙏🏻
The mini 6 is the perfect travel companion, I couldn’t imagine lugging around a bigger iPad.
Now that the new M4's are here weight isn't an issue anymore. Very portable.
The ipad mini won’t receive anymore feature updates as upcoming ipad os features are for M series ipads only. If you want a mini ipad wait for M2 enabled ipad mini . A series ipads will soon become outdated and make no sense to buy in 2023 unless you want one for cheap.
Yes Apple will go hard on Silicon but they will definitely keep upgrading for a few years. Anything about an M powered mini is just rumors for now.
Really awesome video. I just upgraded from the 2018 iPad Pro (I mainly use Procreate) and the new M2 is amazing for illustrating. I also have the iPad mini which I also illustrate on. I love them both.🍎
That's awesome! Illustrators really benefit from that hover feature.
My Mini 6 is the goto iPad while traveling, relegating my 11" iPad Pro to home use.

I have a pro max, should I go for the mini?
I’m a artist and a animator, I’m still on the 10.5 inch pro, I would love the 11 inch iPad Pro, but I’m trying to hold off until they come in oled but Liquid Retina is good too.
Thanks for the review
Hey just out of curiosity, as an artist, what drives you towards the smaller display, rather than the 12.9"?
@@PatrickRambles I’m using my iPad as a main iPad too. So i would think the 12.9 inch is heavier for me. Also it’s costs more. But as a artist, I agree with you, the bigger screen would work better
Oh I'm not saying it's better, I was genuinely curious to hear your take.
I went for the 11’ M2. The 120hz is too hard to pass up.
Same
If the iPad mini 6 had 120hz then for sure I’ll go with the iPad mini 6.
The dream.
@@PatrickRambles Yh
Sold it. The Mini has a great display but the battery and performance was worse than my 13 Pro and 12.9 M1. It needs a big spec upgrade to be in the same level as my pro devices.
True. That would also bump it's price tag. I'd be willing to pay premium for that though.
The TomToc case looks cool. I would prefer that case for my M2 iPad Pro 11”inch.
I still can adapt to either one even though the my main use device is drawing. As long as its working
I remember I stopped watching you when you said you would never review the iPad Pro M2. The recommended tab brought us together again
Serendipity.
I’d love a TomToc case! Great video too Patrick. I rock the M2 iPad Pro 11” and love it
Thanks and noted!
I'm facing this decision. I think its fun to have an Ipad mini 6. But i opt for Ipad Pro m1 11 inch just to be safe and future proof. I would love to have that sick Tomtoc 4mode case. Thank you sir and all for the information.
Yes if you have to pick one and it's gonna be a work device for you as well, the Pro is the wiser choice. The mini is fun, like you said.
Thanks for sharing, dude 🙌
I was debating hard on ipad mini 6 and ipad pro 11. I got myself ipad pro it feels amazing but i don't use it as much as i would with ipad mini 6. The screen, 120hz, m1 chip, more real estate for apple pencil. Wether ipad mini6 would be much more loved, to grab it into bed to cafes ets. So yeah the main deal breaker for me was 120hz and battery life. I might sell it later and switch to mini instead when it'll have 120hz.
A mini "pro" like that would or be an instant buy for me as well.
I would like the tomtoc case. I’m currently using iPad mini with the orange apple case
Great content. I would definitely love one if still available
I'm planning to get the pro 11 still contradicting myself.. Thanks I'm more confident in what I have to get.
That's awesome!
Definitely need one of those cases🙌
Thanks for this video. I have the original 11-inch iPad Pro, and I'm buying a Mini soon since the Pro needs some Apple TLC. I would definitely enjoy using that TomToc case!
🙌
I think you said 16” iPad at then end lol I was like when did they do that 🤯😂
Oh LOL did I? Haha 🤦♂️
That's pretty much the conclusion of the jelly scroll video I did at the time. It's there, I barely see it, I don't care.
I do really want the tomtoc case! 😊 iPad 11 is my favorite I have one and it’s very simple to use and portable
🙌
I can’t concentrate on the review because of your biceps 💪🏼
😂
Excellent video. I am staying with the Mini. I cant wait when the Mini gets the 120HZ refresh rate.
Same here!
I hope they put the 120hz on the mini this year. Btw. Big guns on a techie is rare!
Great video as always ! Keep um coming
Thanks, Bryan!
Mini pro would be a dream. The desk mat is a Grovemade (size large)
@@PatrickRambles Perfect. Thanks for the source 😊
I bought the 11 inch Pro back in November. You're spot on about the Magic Keyboard not providing protection. The TomToc looks AMAZING. I would love to be considered for your giveaway.
Thanks! And noted :)
Thank you for the great review. How do you evaluate the mini for light note-taking compared to the 11”, such as in meetings or when annotating documents?
Great video! I have the 11" pro and the iPad mini 6. A Tomtoc case would be great!
Noted!
I would love the Tomtoc case for my new iPad Pro
That case is 🔥 . Would love to have a case like that for my iPad ❤. Just upgraded from the 2018 iPad pro 12.9 to the 2021 M1 Ipad pro 11. It's already dented from using the Magic keyboard
I had the iPad mini 6 since release day I personally like my new iPad Pro m2 way better. I gave my son the mini 6
That TomToc case looks cool. I’m currently using an ESR case like that but I’m not as confident about the protection.
Switched from ipad pro 11 inch m1 to ipad mini and not looking back. Maybe a mechanical keyboard in the future for it. Would love to win the tomtoc case. Thanks
Would love to give TomToc a try for my iPad mini 6 which has been my companion for a year now 🥰
I have an iPad Air 4 that I use for productivity and I’d like to try out on of those cases 😊
🙌
This is the video I need. Looking to trade in my mini for pro11. I would love to get my Hands on a tomtoc for my pro11
I want that case for my newly bought Ipad Pro 11 M1. Waiting for my order to come here in the Philippines.
Before my Ipad 12 and now only my Ipad mini on the road again.👍🏻🇨🇦
DaVinci Resolve and now Final Cut Pro on iPad, it’s becoming really interesting now!
Yes!
(Still undecided....)
🤣
I’m in the same boat but I think imma go with the pro for future proofed sake
i have boths. Love the mini for couch surfing.
can you please tell me where to get the yellow iPad skins
There are some vídeos on UA-cam showing that the iPad Mini 6 is capable of editing videos without any problems using Lumafusion, CapCut, or Davinci.
Sure, it can do basic editing. I love my mini but I wouldn't dream of editing on such a tiny screen.
@@PatrickRambles You will find this hard to believe but I know UA-camrs who record all their videos on iPhone and edit all their videos on CapCut. And their channels are in the tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
OK
@@PatrickRambles lol, not trying to convince you. Just sharing.
Great video. I love my mini 6. Just started using it at work with One Note etc.. Wondering if a bigger screen would be better for apple pencil note writing. Feels like a waste of money.
Thanks! Matter of preference. It's a notepad vs an A4 (legal) sheet of paper I guess. I prefer the small one mostly.
Both..you need both. lol I have the 11inch with the magic keyboard and the mini 6. I also have the m2 mac mini as my desktop, is the overkill? Yes. Could I choose one to give up… no 😅 why am I like this?!
We suffer from the same disease.
