About The Expanse:

Bobbi is like Worf. Both badass warriors, both more of the concept of what their people should be than the actual reality.
@@JnEricsonx Not really, Worf's character was always getting thrown to the ground by the antagonist of the week because the writers needed that new antagonist to seem powerful in the small time the had per episode with each more or less being a standalone story. You see Bobby grow and develop, if she was a Worf character she would have her butt kicked by the proto-humans to show their power but she killed it. And in the books that argument goes right out the window... she rode a missile to save Naomi in the books in a goliath suit, show runners kept her saving Naomi but she's far more badass in the books. At the end of S6 you'll see what I mean... Worf almost got killed in a combat EVA with Borg but Bobby 's EVA in the S6 trailer you see will be so much more. And if the Expanse gets to even just S7 or S8 later you'll see what I mean. Those kids the Roci picked up from the dead Martian wreak were right to see that recon under armor and fear.
@@BongaChonga To be fair, the 2nd Gen Hybrid didn't need to beat up Bobby to prove it was a threat. A 1st Gen Hybrid killed her entire squad and four times as many UN Marines. They are well established as a threat and the 2nd Gen Hybrid are confirmed by the scientists to be an improvement.
That said, I did enjoy the various factors in the 'rematch' Bobby gets. Among them, Bobby is prepared, she asked Alex how they killed the one on their ship and supplied her armor with something in that general direction (incendiary rounds). Also, her main goal was to draw away the 2nd Gen Hybrid, not kill it, while the rest of the team completed the main mission, meaning she drags out the fight with hit and run tactics. And possibly most fortunate, the 2nd Gen Hybrid still seemed to be in the final stages of transforming given how it wasn't reacting normally to a threat (poor Katoa).
I absolutely adore Shohreh Aghdashloo's role in this, easily my favourite character, it will be sad to see the last season with this cast, but I'm still absolutely looking forward to where they move on to.
Who knows. After the last book is released the story rights are still there. And the story takes place in the future so they have time to think what they want to do. Hell, they could turn the last three books into a movie trilogy.
But the last season still isn’t out and the last book is just over a month away. This may be the end or there might be more depending how the last season does with viewership. So watch on!
@@chewieknievel8439 Absolutely, I highly recommend people read the books too if you enjoy the show, although the show does a great job in representing the books, there's still a fair amount of details missing (and a whole main plot character)
The last season from Amazon yes, but Syfy only did 3 seasons too. So entirely possible it could be picked up by someone else.

@@josephperez2004, exactly! I watched a podcast with Ty and he said they hold the rights for future shows or movies (not Amazon) but didn’t commit to anything. But like we all know, they have time in between books so they’re not in a rush.

I was really hoping for a LONG recap. I don't have time to re-watch the entire series before the last season, but would happily watch a 1 hour recap that touched on all the major plot points.
The lack of interaction on this video is depressing. This really is the most underrated piece of fiction of all time
It's very spoilery. The awesomness of the show is going in not knowing what to expect and go for the ride.

We NEED a side plot story exploring the earlier pirating days of Ashford and how he came to be known as the Ghost Knife of Callisto 😭!!
As much as I could love to see that, I got to imagine it would be heartbreaking considering how rough things are for Belters. Don't see a lot of old ones and Ashford has some serious mileage on him. I still tear up in the scene were he watches an old recording of his time with his infant daughter who he confirmed burned to death in front of him at some point in his past.

There is already a tabletop version. Though I could see an online RPG.
@@josephperez2004 I was thinking more along the lines of Mass Effect but honestly I'd love any way to feel a part of the world these guys created. I think single player would be more intimate but that's just my preference.
@@Alakazzam09 MMOs do definitely have the flaw that they can't account for so many different personal character interpretations. I could see a single player game happening, though Amazon would likely need to work out a contract with the book writers for the rights.

The Roci is one of my favorite fictional spaceships.
Why would I watch a 4 minute recap when I can just re-watch the series for 40+ hours?
I don't get why Amazon is cancelling this show when there is still material for at least 3 more seasons.
I think that they don't want to do the 30 year timeskip, basically.
This last season is a good place to stop, and it wraps up the various story arcs nicely. Be glad: few series get to end this cleanly.
Good shows always get cancelled unfortunately. Bad shows can go on for more than 10 seasons..

I can't believe how *GOOD* yet criminally underrated this show is! It really deserves to be up there with the other big titles because it's honestly better than most of them.
Love this series. This is the absolute best of the best series I have watched till date. Keep it up! Also, this series deserves more than 10 seasons. So, kindly do not end it at S6.

Probably the best sci-fi space opera show for decades.
Bobbie Draper and Avasarala are two of my most favourite characters. I'm so excited to see where Season 6 will take them but I'm also sad that Season 6 would be the last.

The best show on TV period. Such a shame it has to come to an end. But oh well, at least we got the first 6 books adapted so I am happy about that.
Always possible someone else might pick it up. Syfy only did the first 3 seasons before Amazon picked it up.
Just watch it. Watch it to episode 4 and either perceive the greatness what's being offered or bounce for a substantial loss. But watch it.
I love the Expanse, but this is a terrible recap. If I didn't know what was going on, I'd watch this video... and still have no idea what's going on.

@@belinda35_77 actually I think it's a pretty decent trailer. Def not a great recap. Anyone coming in cold to this would be able to watch it, get a general sense of how the show is, but not really most of the major plot points.

Miller was one of the best characters in the series. Really a pity that his role ended so early.
Yeah, but they kept it pretty much to how it was in the books, although he was more present in the books as opposed to how he showed up in season 4. He could have been a little more present in season 4, but it’s probably down to actors and budgets.
@@wades2132 Yeah, lots of different factors sometimes affect the changes made. Sometimes for better or worse. I heard Ashford was very different and much less important in the novels.

Amos is very cool character.
Honestly the fact you need to wait the longest for his backstory helped. You can tell there is something seriously concerning about him, but he's so pragmatic and willing to do the hard tasks that you can't quite tell how to feel about him.

Early Expanse: Ceres Station. Brightly lit. Sort of like the mall. Grew up on Ceres: is that at least kind of like working at the mall growing up? Who brings gangsta s*** to the mall: only Anderson Dawes.
They reduced the character of Alex to nothing. They just cut him off from everything. I understand that there are factors around the actor for that, but not for the character itself. Isn't it enough to have killed him in the series ???
I still think that if Harry Potter movies can recast Dumbledore, you could've recast Alex

Honestly I was okay with Alex's death. Like Shed, it's not a big drawn out death scene. It feels random, unfair, and too quick...but that's how death is far too often. The fact it happened like that really sold the impact to me at least.
So they're canceling it after this? Make's me glad the estate of Iain M. Banks pulled out of their deal with Amazon, they'd have only tarnished something beautiful.

Books 7-9 start with a 30 year time jump. Things are a little different.
@@MarkAtTrees I have about to say that probably means we have all new characters. But then I remembered that life expectancy is so much higher in this setting. Even for the dangerous lives Belters lead, they have an average of 65.
@@josephperez2004 I didn't want to mention any spoilers for people who haven't read Persepolis Rising. A 30 year time jump just means the situation has evolved somewhat over that time from what happened in Babylon's Ashes, which may be similar or different from how they have chosen to end season 6. But yes, people do live quite a bit longer on average.

Cancelling this show was a mistake.
Cancelling is a bit of a misnomer. They aren't planning to renew it after S6. It's entirely possible they change their mind, but they aren't legal obligated to make more after that.
Here is hoping they change their minds or that history repeats itself and someone else funds more seasons like when Syfy let it go.
